We've stayed at the Schloss Hotel several times over the years. It's a beautiful old hotel just down the street from the Castle. Staff, breakfast, and parking were all great. We walked to a small pub for dinner and the food was excellent, although the people there didn't speak much English. From Braunfels, it's only and hour or so to the Rhine river valley and the scenery along the way is spectacular.

The hotel is under different ownership since the last time we visited and has lost some of its personal charm. The biggest disappointment was the cozy little bar that used to be at a lower level. On our previous visit (over 10 years ago) there was a bartender and the locals would stop in and we could visit with them. it was such fun. On this trip the bar had been moved upstairs, no tap beer, no bartender, no locals and very sterile. There was an honor system to get a soda, beer, or other refreshment. We were the only ones there.

Beautiful hotel in the center of the city. Not far from a castle. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to explore the surroundings. Definitely suggest hotel for staying.

At least in my room there is no way to get into the shower. It is funny how constructors installed the shower door. The door is possible to open only for approximately 30 cm because of the location of the toilet. Luckily, I managed to squeeze in. In all other aspects the hotel is superb.

Middle of the town, cosy and nice hotel and friendly staff. A general bar/room with terrace which is very convenient!

When arriving there was no parking available & our room had a curtain that didn’t cover the whole window and the other pair was kind of see through, this meant a lot of light in the room in the morning while we wanted to sleep in since we where on holiday.

Amazing location, very clean property, friendly and helpful staff. The facility is well equipped and the parking is a great addition.

Everything was almost perfect. Things I would change: - Give more comfortable pillows - Make the Air vents in the bathroom quieter.

Hotel outside looks like a mini castle. Great location and has a very cozy cafe. We did not get the breakfast but we took a look. They provide hot breakfast which served bacon and other food. Looked good! Room was spacious & clean and beds were comfy. Hotel has its own parking but we parking all the way next to the castle entrance which is 3-4 minutes walk.

Nice clean hotel with somewhat chic impression. Bathroom was very small but had excellent shower. The room situated on the backside had a comfy bed and a balcony with a lovely view (though not toward the castle). Is within short walking distance of Braunfels castle.

Minor issue for me: a table to put a laptop on in the room was missing.

Affordable, spotlessly clean, great location, parking, restaurant breakfast was very good choice of hot & cold buffet. Staff were very friendly

Not a dislike just an observation, tea/coffee facilities in the room would have been nice.

Had a room at the front of the hotel which was a bit noisy in the morning. Breakfast was good and the honesty bar a nice addition. Staff were good when they were around. Good location a few minutes from the castle.

Would have been nice to have a restaurant in the hotel. We were there on a Monday and not much open.

We had a perfect stay at Schlosshotel Braunfels! Very kind staff, clean room, wonderful breakfast! Perfect location just a 2 or 3 min walk up the hill to the castle. Paid for the upgraded room 3rd floor #33, watched beautiful sunsets out the window, see photo. Highly recommend Vogel cafe just across the street as well.

I loved the location so close to the castle. Everything was really clean and staff was lovely. we checked out too early in the morning and off staff hours but it was no problem at all.

The rooms were small and the building is beautiful from the outside, but nothing special from the inside. I had high expectations for the design spaces from other reviews but didn't see anything exceptional. Nothing bad per se, just to manage expectations.
