Breakfast was excellent. Terrific choice and very good quality. There was something there for everyone. We particularly enjoyed the muesli, with selection of toppings. The location couldn't have been better, just round the corner from the Football Museum and 5 minutes walk from Hauptbahnhof. Also, it was very quiet.

Our room was not very practical. For example, the electric sockets were difficult to access and all in the same place. We couldn't have the kettle on and charge the phone at the same time, because the sockets were needed for the lamp, fridge and fan. There was limited storage space in the bathroom, owing to a lack of shelves.

All you need for a nice trip, no matter for fun or work, it is .Great breakfast and excellent coffee :)).Helpful and kind staff .There was inner paid parking and lots of spots on the streets around,also paid .But still, you have opportunities. The hotel is close to the central rail station, close to the old part ,close to some museums too.Plenty of cafes, restaurants ,shops and things to see around .I would recommend it without hesitations.

My room was facing the main street, so it wasn't absolutely quiet, but it wasn't bad at all ,soo no big deal.

We arrived very late and really appreciated the 24/7 reception and the private parking. The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom very clean with a spacious shower. We really enjoyed the breakfast and good morning coffee, and the ladies in the dining room were super friendly.

No AC in the room. Upon arrival the receptionist said there is a fitness area. But in the morning another receptionist explained that the gym is actually in the city cetre. The area was quite dodgy if you go for a run in the neighbourhood.

We arrived at 5am after driving from Ukraine with passengers and pets going to the Uk. We were all exhausted after being on the road for two days and although our checkin wasn’t until 2pm these amazing staff rearranged and let us in so we could all rest and they were honestly just brilliant. So happy to help us. We left early next morning at 5am they arranged takeaway breakfast for us and went over and above to make sure our stay was really as pleasant as possible.

Nothing this was great value for money

I accidentally have to stay in Dortmund. I search a near, good rating, and affordable price hotel. And I found Grey Design. What a great choice to stay! The staffs were friendly, fluently in English. The room was so clean, tidy, bright. The bed was sooo much comfortable. The breakfast was so many variations with very good taste. Make my day so enjoyable. Excellent 😊

We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. The location was great - just a few minutes walk from the train station, which was very convenient for us. Breakfast was included in the price and was delicious and varied. Special thanks to the friendly and attentive staff. The room was clean and well maintained. We will definitely stay here again.

This is a lovely hotel. Ignore the dull name, this place is a real find. I stayed here for an expo, had a lovely room, with a big bathroom, and even a balcony with a table and a chair out there. Wonderful.

This was a really nice hotel to stay at and I don't have anything bad to say, so I will right some more stuff about what I like. It's central, easy to access, has a wonderful breakfast room and friendly staff!

Nice small hotel near Dortmund Central Station. Simple interior in German style - Quadratisch, Praktisch, Gut (und hier auch Grau), very clean and friendly. The first hotel (I've seen) in northern Europe with a tiled floor all over and in the room(s). A little stiff, but I felt the room was clean, and NO old leftovers were hidden in an old carpet. The staff in the breakfast was very kind.

The mattress in my room would benefit from a renewal, as I felt I was laying in a slight valley.

It's a great quite small hotel in the center of Dortmund, just 3 min. walk from main railway station. I did last minute booking just 15 minutes before my arrival but everything went smoothly. Ladies at reception are extremely helpful and even helped me with my documents. Room is small but clean and equipped with everything you may need as a single traveler. Breakfasts are tasty with good choice of meals.

Single rooms on the 3rd floor have reduced ceiling height. It's not a problem if you are short but if you're tall it may be a problem. There is no air conditioner in the room but hotel provides air cooler which is a bit noisy but really helps when it's too hot outside.

It was in a good location about a 5 minute walk from the train station and the football museum is right on your door step. Room I stayed in was excellent, even had a fan in the room. Staff were also very friendly and helpful.
