big kitchen area, large refrigerator, adequate cooking supplies. large lounge area to socialize. bedrooms are large, plenty of space between bunk beds, a table with chairs in center. large windows with terrace doors. location ok, easy walk to transit. fun area, grocery stores close enough. Really great staff!! 👍🏻 Definitely recommend this hostel.

Not centrally located, but super convenient transit to get there, cheaper rate makes the transit worth the time, great staff & facilities make it worth the transit, but if you like walking it is only 20 minutes to walk there. 👍🏻😊

I looked for a place to sleep at, and found a true cultural center because they have city tours, lots of booklets from theaters and museums, a small yet very cosy library, a lot of weekly activities and a bar. They have a lovely kitchen on the ground floor, where you can cook and store your food (equipment for signing your stuff is available). My bed was in a stylish room with a nice view. Their shower rooms are furnished with a great attention to the smallest details, I was pleasantly surprised. Lots of toilet rooms on the floor, mostly gender specific. Everything is cozy and has a great style. They present a cool sticker to each of their guests as a gift, I loved it. The hostel is located in a nice area: a 15 min. walk away from the Dresden-Neustadt railway station, lots of cafés and restaurants around, several supermarkets nearby. Several trams and buses to the Old City within walking distance (5-15 min.)

The receptionist really could provide information about how the 5€ deposit for locks works. I first had to bring my pretty heavy suitcase upstairs to the second floor to find out the locks aren't there, then go back downstairs (with my suitcase) to leave a deposit and pick up a lock, then go upstairs again. It's fine that you don't have a lift, yet in this case such important information should be provided at once. Everything else was great! The reception stuff provided me with a lot of helpful information.

You get hotel quality for hostel prices. That's what Mondpalast stands for. Most of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The evening shift Nottingham chap is legendary. Next time we'll come up with more riddles for the display board. Sorry though for dozing off on the couch after 3am. Guests can experience lively banter in the common area. I also heard that expat events are held there once a week, so lucky is the guest who's booked in on that day. The dorms are enormous, so plenty of space is readily available for everyone, and your kitchen area is spacious enough for guests to enjoy their lunch which they can gladly bring in from the countless eateries in the neighbourhood, plus Rewe is just down the road if anyone needs their groceries and a self-service launderette lies across the street.

The daytime receptionist at check out (Sonja/Selma ?) was a bit blunt, but still acted professional.

The location is really great; in the middle of the nice Neustadt area and not far from tramways. There is a nice kitchen and bar area on ground floor. Common bathroom and toilets in the corridor are really appreciated if you arrive or leave at night time and don't want to disturb the whole room. By the way the women showers were way better than the bathroom in the room. The room was equipped with big lockers and dark curtains.

The doors were very loud when closing; the bathroom in the room was super small (i only used the common girls bathroom in the corridor which were great and big).

This is an exceptional hostel that seems to have everything right. The personnel were all nice, easygoing and very friendly. The rooms had enough room and were comfortable for hanging out. The showers were clean and good. The whole hostel was impeccably clean and well maintained. First floor has a very cozy bar and kitchen area for hanging out. I was there in February and it was pretty lively, with cool people from all over the world. You can also rent bikes from them, regular single-gear and electric with 6 gears. I rented the latter one and it was good enough for a 60 km cycling trip to Saxon Switzerland National Park (you can come back by train with your bike). Kitchen was well equipped and had enough room too.

Great location in Neustadt, I walk everywhere so can't comment on public transport etc but it was for example walkable, even with a suitcase, from Dresden Neustadt train station. The walk into the historic centre was longer but flat and very pretty, across one of the bridges. I stayed in a single room with its own bathroom which was nice and clean. I appreciated shelves and table in the room, too, as well as a sink directly in the room (the bathroom was a separate little room with toilet and shower, all en suite).

Can't think of anything, I enjoyed it, and would certainly stay again.

Well equipped kitchen includes salt and oil. Big lockers (take your lock!). Very beautiful facilities. (I visited almost every, just to take a look.) Bar at the ground floor doesn't bother on the second one, however I'm not sure about the first floor. Big room to store luggage before check in and after check out. It is located in Neustadt, the most interesting region of the city after historical center. Takes the second place out of four hostels in Dresden where I have stayed

They don't return city tax, if you book through booking. They don't count that money if you extend your stay, even if they promise to do it (as it happened to me). Church somewhere nearby may wake you up. Also microwave with oven was disappointing as oven (still fine as microwave).

I loved the vibe around the hostel, the kitchen full of amenities, free coffee and tea and even some free stuff left by others in the kitchen. The area is absolutely amazing and full of lovely restaurants and cafes, organic shops and interesting things to see. It seems like there is always something going on in that area and, as I have discovered, graffiti and music are key components of the culture. The showers were amazing too.

There is no Aircon, meaning that during hot days the windows need to be opened and it can be loud on the streets until pretty late. I ended up buying earplugs. Breakfast was, I am sorry to say, a bit of a joke for the price. No fruit, some tomatoes and cucumbers, jam and bread, cereals and some cheese. As a coeliac I didn't have much choice, although I am grateful for them having some gf bread for me.

It’s a charming good reachable location and we’d been super happy with staff and support! The familiarity created a warm and friendly atmosphere. We liked especially the wide range of guests and ages! We did rent e-bikes and used them for a day trip through Dresden and even outskirts along the Elbe. After this workout we enjoyed the warm shower and comfortable and clean bed for deep sleep.

The interior in our room could have been more cozy, we guessed it’s designed to be practical. For that reason it fits prefect,

Lovely staff, great common area, offers free coffee/tea, nice and cool area, great activities(watching drunk Germans sing sweet Caroline was so much fun!), free luggage storage, cool design of the house and rooms Thank you for being so great!

The stairs (but the staff offered to carry my luggage), it’s an old house so it’s understandable they don’t have an elevator but just be avare if you have mobility issues. It could be cleaner
