A beautiful property, it’s got spacious and clean rooms. The staff too is extremely hospitable and kind. It doesn’t have an elevator but the staff is willing to help carry your bags up if you need them to. The breakfast has decent enough options for vegetarians so that was a plus! The hotel is just a 3-5 minute walk from the main old town square, local shops and restaurants so the location is perfect.

I wish they had an electric tea kettle in the room so we could have some tea/coffee at all times especially when it’s cold outside! While the location is great from the town square it’s a bit far from the Gengenbach train station. A 10-15 minute walk from the station isn’t very convenient if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues, but if that can be managed somehow then great.

There was a nice selection of things for breakfast, and an egg cooked to order was offered. There is a lovely common area on the 2nd level of the building, nice place to just sit and relax. The staff were very helpful in providing directions for the use of the elevator - a little quirky, but explained very clearly

In room 5 (and maybe in others) there is a metal strip at the threshold of the bathroom that sticks up above the level of the floors in the bedroom and the bathroom. It is a painful to step on, so one has to be careful not to step on it when entering or exiting the bathroom.

As i could not pull my luggages on cobblestones paved roads, the hotel offers Simon to pick me up at the station. When checking out, Christy also sent me to the station with her car. I was grateful for their great help indeed. 4. Wifi speed is fast, even sending whatapps video files. 5. Enjoyed my breakfast in their backyard. 6. Great value with money

The hotel was well located in the beautiful town of Gengenbach from where it is very easy to get trains to many Black Forest towns where you can do day trips to. The room was nice, breakfast was delicious and the hosts were very nice people. It was a wonderful stay!

All was good

Room comfort was great and wee balcony situation lovely. Receptionist very helpful and Gengenbach a very pretty town. there is a lovely scenic walk up the hill beside the hotel.

The only fault I could find was the absence of a corkscrew (and no night staff when we discovered this) so missed enjoying our wine on the balcony ....... but the mini-bar prices were very reasonable indeed!

everything was so awesome. check in was easy, room is comfortable and staff over there are so friendly & helpful. love the breakfast and scramble eggs. Accessibility to the main gengenbach town is just 4-5 mins walk with many food choices. if you have a car, driving to triberg waterfall is just a 30-40 mins distance.

The owner of the hotel is very nice to all her guests! Even the breakfast seems very homely as she personally serves the scrambled eggs and hot beverages to you. This hotel also gives a free KONUS Guest card to tourists, so u get to take the public transport for free!

The hotel does not have a lift. My room was at the second floor, but we had two heavy luggages and we had to carry the luggages up and down the stairs. The toilet was a little bit small.

It’s very nice, clean. The staff are super friendly and nice. We forgot about the breakfast and they called to remind us the breakfast. We came down late for breakfast and they waited for us. Christina was very helpful in everything. Thank you!

Hotel location was excellent, just a few minutes walk from old town & about 10-15 minutes walk from station. Breakfast was very good & all of the staff were lovely.

Nothing we didn’t like

The breakfast was appetising, plenty of choice and the scrambled egg was the best we have ever had. Location perfect for visiting our relatives but sophisticated and trendy place to visit.
