The staff was very kind and helpful, everything was perfectly cleaned and the room was wonderful and cozy. The location is also perfect, right in the beautiful old centre of Hattingen. It’s calm and really amazing. Restaurant in the hotel is also very delicious with kind staff and the breakfast was great too- many good options. One of the best stays ever and I’m already looking forward the next visit!

The location was amazing, right in the centre of the old part of town and we had a wonderful view over the main terrace and of the church. As it was such a compact part of the city, there were great choices for restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel had its own lively restaurant so we really were spoiled for choice. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was hearty and satisfying with a decent enough choice.

The price was a little higher than I was used to before covid, but perhaps this is just the new reality and the fact that it was a triple room. All in all, we were very happy with our stay.

The staff were all friendly and pleasant. The breakfast food was plentiful and dinner was really good. There were always a lot of diners so we were not the only ones who felt it was terrific. Very quiet location once you get used to the church bells— and surprisingly we did so quickly!

Parking was scarce but fine.

We stayed in Hattingen while visiting friends nearby. The hotel was very comfortable, quiet and friendly. Great German style breakfast including boiled eggs and fresh rolls and meats and cheeses. The bar was a fun place to hang out in after we returned to the hotel. All staff was very friendly!!

There was absolutely nothing that was to be disliked!

Fantastic historical building with addittional extra building directly adjacent to the main premises which was nicely built in the same traditional style. The hotel is well located right in the historical heart of town. Great, very friendly and helpful staff. Great restaurant which served high quality German dishes & various tap beers. Large nice Beergarten alike terrace around the premises. Breakfast was well taken care of. The room where we stayed in the new building directly on the side of the main building, was very clean, newly decorated with a comfortable bed and larger shower.

Room does not have an airconditioning. In itself not an issue, adding a roof fan would however make it even more comfortable. We did not understand our room was located in a new building adjacent to the historical building (with has a simular look & feel). Maybe it would be good to indicate that on the webpage so you are more aware of that. Hotel Zur alten Krone is certainly a place where I would love to return!

Excellent location in centre of town. Old building but modernised bedrooms. Staff were great, restaurant was very good. Breakfast was good. Bed was comfy

Can be a bit noisy from hotel guests dining below rooms, but did not go on too late.

fantastic staff and nothing was a problem. we asked to book a table outside for dinner when all of the tables were already reserved and a table was made available

Beautiful old building with tons of character. Room was nicely renovated and outfitted. Restaurant located in the same building was very good. Staff were very helpful.
