Stunning location. Village houses have stalls selling local produce with honesty boxes for payment. Wine tasting and purchases easily available too. The property is farm like and needs some modernisation but it is charming. The family who own it were absolutely lovely and very relaxed about what we did. The big garden (with toys) is great for children and for having your own picnic dinner with locally bought wine. There’s an honesty box in the hotel beside a fridge and freezer full of drinks, snacks and ice lollies- lovely touch. No bar as such but the prices were so cheap and there’s a nice elevated dining terrace to use. The kitchen/dining room was open for breakfast but we didn’t use it.

No staff as such but the family/owners live on site, which we really liked, they were very trusting and left you to your own devices but suppose it could be an issue if you were stuck as they weren’t always home. We already had a fan in our room but no air conditioning- weather over 28 degrees would have made the room unbearable at night. Access to a fridge would be good as it did feel more like a self catering/motel.

We stayed 4 nights at Hotel Faxe and enjoyed it. The hotel terrace and garden are more appealing than the photo's show. Nice view on the surrounding wineyards. The family room with balcony was ideal for our family of four. Very comfortable beds. The (optional) breakfast was complete and varied for the price asked. If you come late to breakfast, choice maybe (much) less. We guess you can always ask to the friendly and helpful owning family. The restaurant served a limited menu but perfect (and good) for short stay.

In our room, cold water supply during rush hours was limited - taking a shower was like a cold/hot treatment (no additional fee asked). No problem for us as we were flexible in our longer stay. For those that need to leave early: breakfast is only served as from 08:00. No big deal either; there is a bakery nearby that provides an alternative.

The staff was very helpful, nice and very friendly. We needed to get the key to our room out of hours and they were kind enough to make that happen. Breakfast was great and varied. And the location in terms of landscape was incredible. Lovely sight and lovely walk over the park.

Since there is no public transport available to and from the hotel and the train station, the location can be rated as not ideal if you have big luggage or are in a hurry. But in reality is only aprox. a 20min walk from the train station.

The hotel building is beautiful and very well decorated in the rural style with hand made furniture, drapes, and figures. The room is big (as described) and clean. There is a playground for children in the hotel premises. The personnel is really helpful, even if you lock a key inside your room late in the evening :). The surrounding landscape is just breathtaking and offers a lot of hiking and cycling opportunities among the local vineyards.

Nice hotel in the heart of the Black forest, cozy and quiet rural area. The room had a balcony overseeing the vineyards. Comfortable bed, ample rooms, nice garden area. Parking spaces available There is a really good bakery about 4 minutes away by foot, where a very good breakfast is served in case the hotel restaurant is closed.

Not a dislike, but travelers should note that the village does not have many amenities, so come prepared or level your expectations accordingly.

Only stayed for one night. Amazing views of the grapeyard, nice garden and safe surrounding for the kids to play after a long cardrive from the Netherlands. Very welcoming host, nice and well priced dinner option in the evening. The room was spit up in a kids part which was perfect for us. The road in front is noisy but the windows and shutters keep the noise out easily.

Parking (and location) wasn't clear to us, so at first we drove by the hotel. Not a problem but since the pictures online are mostly from the back we did not recongnise the front (roadside) of the hotel.

The room had an amazing view to a vineyard. Super comfortable beds. They have this option so you can go to the common aerea (I think it is open at all times) grab yourself a beer and pay for it yourself. Easy access

We were 5 people but they gave us towels for 2 people. just that

lovely family room with 2 different sleeping areas, nice balcony, great self service kitchen, honesty bar, and garden / play area with BBQs. lovely friendly staff. Dogs v welcome.

breakfast was lovely if a little bit unpredictable - items ran out the first morning. Get down early!

Checkin was supereasy thanks to a keybox. Parkingplace is big and easy to find. Everything was very neat and clean. Bed was big and comfortable. We loved the hotel and the city. You can view a vineyard from the hotel and restaurant. Restaurant has a corner with many child toys. We will definitely come back when we are in the region. There are lot of self service amenities.

The rom was exactly as pictured and was perfect for us. The breakfast was extensive and the outdoor seating was perfect. The location suited our needs and was nice. The staff were very accommodating and helpful.

The morning traffic was somewhat of an issue as it was warm and we wanted the windows open. Perhaps an addition of a fan would be helpful.
