H4 Hotel Kassel

Good room size, great breakfast, central location, nice town view. My room had an air conditioner, but I was told not all the rooms are equipped with it, so make sure to ask for one depending on the weather. Free mineral water is nice, same as free ticket for local public transport. Hotel has plenty of parking space if you drive a car. Walking distance to/from a train station.

The furniture seems quite aged and old fashioned. The lights were failing in the bathroom, but were fixed later during my stay. Cannot say that the bed was super comfy, but was just okay. Elevators are slow and can be quite busy in the mornings.

Staff was excellent and very helpful. Spoke English and very pleasant to have conversations with during stay. Room was great Coffee/tea and two bottles were great along with coffee machine and tea pot. Parking was very short distance from entrance. Free Transportation tickets for tram/ bus travel throughout city. Best shower water pressure ever seen in hotel...very nice after a long day walking. Breakfast is outstanding and the staff very professional from sharp dress, serve, and bearing.

Bathroom tub/shower is high to enter. If handicap or hard time lifting legs I would ask hotel for comfort room with easier access to shower areas Beds where low, but very comfortable - a problem getting out of sometime for us older people. No air conditioning- not a problem during our stay.

This is actually the third time that we stayed in this hotel during Documenta. I can tell you that nothing much has changed in those years but that isn't a bad thing! The rooms are still comfortable and large, wifi works perfectly, the bathroom is good and the breakfast is great! A nice extra is the restaurant which has quite a good kitchen. The hotel is actually rebuilding some of the facilities at the moment so I wonder what it will be like next time :-) The hotel is also near a tramstation and a nice park.

Comfortable rooms with massive wooden furniture. Feels luxurious. Lots of mirrors: one in the room, 2 in the bathroom. Coffee machine, coffee capsules, kettle, tea and sugar, also cups and glasses were already provided in the room. Room cleaning service is very polite and does their job great. Rich breakfast options, valid for every diet type. High quality tasty food. Close to the public transport stops, has parking, is right near the Congress Palace. Has a beautiful park nearby. They also sell some beer and jewellery on reception.

Location close to Congress Palais Kassel / same building. Breakfast was extensive/good quality. Room was comfortable and clean, with coffee machine.

- Could have been more/faster elevators in the building (only 2) - when lots of people are leaving the hotel at the same time for an event, waiting times become bad. - Bathroom interior is only standard white, could be better designed. - Could have wall dispensers for shower gel in the shower in addition to the small hotel bottles.

Beautiful view from room and from 14th floor terrace. Very good breakfast with plenty of choises. Staff was friendly and helpful. We got free public transport tickets and suggestion for local food restsurant.

Spa was out of order during our stay there but nobody mentioned that. Usually you have to pay extra for parking on street. As we arrived on Saturday evening, we didn't have to pay, because parking was free on Sundays. Nobody warned, that it was necessary to wear a mask in public transport.

The hotel was better than in the pictures. It is slightly dated but the room was very spacious and clean. The reception was super friendly. The breakfast was very good and had lots of options. At arriving we were given a public transport pass which was a nice and very useful added extra.

Most of the people, apart from one young woman, did not greet the guests at breakfast. They almost avoided making eye contact, which I found slightly unprofessional in a hospitality enstablishment.

Very friendly staff, good location and breakfast accommodation. Checking in and out was quick and hassle free. Great view of Kassel from the room.

The room was not entirely dust free. Parking was a bit of a hassle (chip based entry and exit where the chip needed action from staff to make the parking free, this was not explained upon arrival).

-Great breakfast -Modern, well appointed rooms -Good service and amenities (e.g. coffee/ water in room, gym)

-air conditioning was not working properly during our stay and was blowing warm air despite setting to low. Instead we had to open a window -lack of clarity on breakfast timings for weekend vs weekday

Great breakfast choice with the possibility of sitting outside. On request we changed our room from the front to the back without any problems. My wife likes to sleep with open window and the "Pflastersteine" could be quite noisy when a car drove on it.

The bar only opens at 7.00pm.
