The location is on the Danube river, before it becomes the Danube river. At this location it is a lovely trout stream. We enjoyed the quiet elegance of German hospitality--the crisp duvet cover, the balcony overlooking the river, the separate entrance that took us to a path along the river. Our meals (dinner and breakfast) were extraordinary. The menu for supper included fish and fowl that we could have encountered along the way, prepared perfectly.

Great quiet location on a scenic stretch of the Danube. Staff very friendly. Clean, pleasant room. On site restaurant for dinner was nice (note closed Wednesday and Thursday!) and breakfast was good except missed some usual vegetables? Bike parking was secure and it’s right on the EV6 route.

Price seemed a bit high for our room in the back (no river view…river view rooms with balconies looked fabulous) Bed was shorter than normal German double so my 197cm length meant sleeping diagonal. Room lighting was harsh, and lack of outdoor space for a drink or relaxing seems like a missed opportunity.

A small and secluded country hotel, situated beside a weir on the river Danube in an attractive gorge, close by a few other houses and quite a few miles from anywhere else. Quiet and secluded but with easy riverside walking from the door. Large open parking area close by. Road and railway line nearby, on opposite bank - seldom seen and never heard. A comfortable newly refurbished restaurant overlooking the river serving good local meals. Good breakfast with helpful owners on site.

Clear check in instructions. Brilliant location on the Donau. We were cycling and it is situated on the Donau radweg. Bedroom overlooked the river. Snacks and drinks available on arrival. Good breakfast. Restaurant was shut the evening we arrived but we had made plans for our evening meal in advance so no problem with this.

Nothing. Next time we will visit on an evening when the restaurant is open.

Nice hotel with a lovely old fashioned Stube, which I really like. The location is lovely. When I was there, it was very quiet, but staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

The location is unique in the National Park Obere Donau, right next to the river Donau. Facilities and breakfast were excellent.

They had bad luck: while we stayed there, their main water pump broke down and the reserve unit stalled and would not kick in. They managed the problem as best they could and we survived without problems.

Beautiful room with a view on the river, very clean and well maintained hotel, friendly family staff. Very well-cared breakfast with very fresh fruit and bread

The river is a bit noisy if you are sensitive to that (although some might like the sound as a sleep medicine)
