The property is located nearby the main city in Santorini, Thira. you can get to this city either by foot (approximately 25-35 min.) or by shuttle provided by the hotel. Shuttle is 5 times in a day and the first one departs from the hotel at 10.30 am. so if you are interested to get to Thira earlier, you should walk. Personnel, breakfast and all facilities are sublime. Everything was just perfect

Breakfast & service were excellent. Nespresso coffee in rooms (bought pods @ market to avoid 2 euro/cup fee). Excellent drinks (pricy: 20 euros), food & service @ pool bar; closes early, pre-sunset. Check in: front desk assigned us a 1-bed room, claimed that Booking.com did NOT forward my request to Booking.com for 2 beds (traveling w/ my 30 yr son); no 2 bed rooms avail at check in. Since I’d already paid in full, we were forced to accept a 1-bed room. Staff suggested we ask manager @ day 2, to move us to a 2-bed room. Rm 160: balcony w/ gorgeous caldera & pool views, w/ 1 bed. I gave my son our 1 bed & slept on VVH’s concrete floor. Day 2: too sore/angry to talk politely w/ VVH’s manager, so sent my son to re-request a 2-bed room. She moved us to #184, a STUNNING 2 BR SUITE (2 baths/2 balconies/2 TVs/2 fridges/sitting room/sofa bed/desk).

Hotel guests “held” pool lounge-chairs, w/ towels/personal items, for hours, un-used, preventing other hotel guests’ use of VVH’s lounge-chairs. VVH should consider a policy to prevent this selfish hoarding/abuse of VVH property. #184: BR1 wifi =good; BR2 = NO wifi. Since VVH TVs work only via wifi, BR2 TV was not useable. BR2 had a large, extremely bright white spotlight, ON during our entire stay, pointed directly on BR2’s bed. We searched thru the suite, but found NO switch to turn off that horrific light. Result: #184’s BR2 bright light & #160’s concrete floor left me w/ little-no sleep @ beautiful Volcano View Hotel.

Arriving at this property was like stepping into a dream. I still find it hard to believe we stayed at a place this magnificent. With each step we took into the property, that feeling became more apparent. This place and this property were absolutely unforgettable and I can't recommend it highly enough to all! Noting that we were upgraded to a better room when we got there, but I would still feel just as passionately about this property regardless of the room itself!

Location was a bit difficult—required the use of the property shuttle or a taxi to get to anything of note on the island (minimal sidewalks, crazy drivers, and extreme heat). I will say though that it was delightfully quiet here compared to many other areas on the island!

The Hotel has exceptional views over the Volcano and the sunset can be excellent. The Breakfast staff were always friendly and provided a great start to your day accompanied by a variety of options for your choice in food and drink. Our room was kept spotless and overall the Hotel was always kept in a similar manner. The free shuttle bus is very helpful for going back and forth to town.

The nature of the Hotel structure prevents their being a lift in situ hence there is a need for individual personal mobility although the Hotel do make the absence of a lift clear in their literature. The absence of a lift is more than made up for in the stunning design of the Hotel but overall this is an important factor when choosing your location

The view from the terrace where there was breakfast and dinner was unencumbered and majestic and breathtaking...beautiful views of the caldera and town, and much of that side of the island. Likewise from our room's balcony. The service of the staff was exceptional, within 24 hours we felt like we were among friends.. The food was very good...and the Thursday night cookout/Greek barbecue with live music was fun. From our arrival they took time out to give us maps and recommendations of things to do and where to go...helpful. The bar and restaurant crew's service was crisp and courteous, professional yet so friendly service, and brought us our drinks wherever we were. The gym was well equipped. Overall an amazing experience.

Not enough lounge chairs at the pool. Even at the second pool, they ran out. Come on guys.

The staff are kind, helpful and positive. We were happy to be greeted by the breakfast staff and to converse with them during our meal. If you get the chance to meet Kosta, his enthusiasm and sense of humour is a great way to start the day. The view is breathtakingly beautiful. The shuttle service is reliable and convenient. The bus driver makes passengers feel welcomed and comfortable with his safe driving.

The reception staff failed to inform us of the gym facilities that were available at the associated hotel. We (two adults) purchased two casual gym sessions at a gym in Fira town. We only found out about the available gym upon checkout when it came up in conversation as to how we were going to spend our last hours before catching our flight. The WiFi was unreliable from our room, as well as the pool area. Water bottles weren't replenished & the room did not include an iron or ironing board. This surprised us as these services are usually provided at four star hotels (this hotel is five star...). There is also a second pool at the property. This wasn't communicated to us.

Everything was amazing, an unforgettable experience, the staff is very charming and always offer to help and are always smiling. The most beautiful view in all of Santorini, in a hotel like this you don't have to leave the hotel. Tina helped my partner organize a marriage proposal, she was in constant contact with him and organized everything beautifully, thanks to her and the staff everything was so amazing.

Public transportation was not convenient, the hotel is a bit far from the city center, so we needed a car, but already on the first day, the staff helped us find a car rental at the cheapest price we could find.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms were impressive. The diverse and delicious breakfast options were a delight. The staff was both friendly and helpful. On the morning of our departure, they even provided us with a packed breakfast. The view was truly amazing, offering the most beautiful sunset.

Sometimes the Wi-Fi didn't work properly, but overall, the internet worked fine. The parking is on the other side of the road, and you have to wait to cross since there is no pedestrian crossing.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly with anything we needed. They carried my luggage when we got their for a late check-in. The location was absolutely wonderful for sunset (probably best on the island). It was great value for money as we got a discount. We went to a beach after check-out and they allowed us to come back to use the shower near the restaurant and they stored our luggage safely. Breakfast was insanely good. We had never stayed at a 5-star hotel but found a great last minute deal.

The shower was just a simple/small moveable shower head which I was expecting more from a 5 star hotel.

Even though they are connected and next to each other, we stayed at the villas and not the Volcano View. Niko, our host, gave us a great reception and he made sure that we were completely comfortable through our stay. The villas are fantastic, with an extraordinary view of the caldera, with private pool and jacuzzi, a very comfortable room with an ample bathroom and all the services. The hotel is in a quiet place (something very valuable in Santorini), about 1 kilometer from the city of Fira. There is free transportation from the hotel to Fira and back, and Fira is very lively with good restaurants and bars.
