The Ilion Hotel is a charming, quiet hotel up on the hill above Nafpaktos in a residential neighborhood. Our room was a bit smaller than expected, but it was comfortable, very clean and had extra pillows and blankets which we appreciated. There is a porch out front of the room with an expansive view overlooking the rooftops of town out to the Gulf of Corinth - at night we watched the lights of Patras sparkling on the opposite shore. Just beautiful! Staff was so kind and friendly, breakfast on the lovely patio out front was plentiful, with lots of choices and very delicious! The other bonus was that there is a small parking lot there for guests to use, rare to find at many small hotels! A great place to stay!

We liked it all! I will say, that if you have trouble with stairs, this would not be a good choice for you, as there are many.

The hotel is easy to find and the location is good - very close to the city centre and yet very calm, as it is uphill, tucked below the fortress walls. There is a free private parking, cramped, but ok to use. The beds are comfy, the bathroom is nice and the shower cabin doors close tightly, which is rare to find actually. The towels are of high quality, thick and soft, and really white. The bedlinen and pillows are good. Breakfast is very good, there are traditional Balkan dishes and products, fresh orange juice. The host is polite and efficient. Our room had a balcony with 2 chairs and a table, beautiful view to the strait below.

Nothing really worth mentioning. There are a few petite eye-sores, some details in the furniture and not well thought-of and some are not safe for hospitality use, but nothing major. I think the room was a little overpriced, but not much.

A small classic hotel very nicely decorated in a cozy style with real wood furniture, carpets, monogrammed linens, great amenities, excellent breakfast, & good WiFi. My room had a sofa, mini-fridge, kettle & supplies, bathrobe, toiletries, & closet. The view is magnificent! I loved sitting on my balcony watching the sunset and sunrise over Nafpaktos, the Gulf of Corinth, and mountains of the Peloponnese in the distance. Free private parking just below the hotel is a plus. It's just a short walk to the harbor, restaurants, and shops. This was my second visit. Next trip I'll stay longer.

Be aware that there are many steps up to the rooms. I think it's worth those steps for the views.

Loved absolutely everything about Ilion Hotel. The owners are so nice. Hotel is tastefully decorated, very clean, lovely balcony, superb view, fabulous breakfast, good parking, excellent location, great shops and lots of restaurants/cafes/bakeries close by. Beach is organized and plenty of sunbeds/umbrellas. Good for children too. We loved our stay and could not find fault with anything. We will definitely be back!

Brilliant helpful, charming staff. Comfortable bed, beautifully decorated room. Nice views from small balcony over roofs to the sea. It's a steep walk up from the car park but members of staff carried up our luggage with good grace - and on a previous visit, George even ran back to a taverna we'd been to in the town, to retrieve something I'd forgotten. Wonderful service!

Complicated shower system with massage (?) jets at all levels and not clear how to operate. My husband currently has a splint and bandage on his right arm so must be able to direct the water.

The view! I had a room on the top floor with a panoramic view over the town, sea, and Peloponnese on my room balcony. The balcony was shaded and framed by a gigantic Bougainvillea that is rooted below the lower level of rooms. The hotel is a quiet, serene place to be, while within a few minutes walk from the center of town. The breakfast buffet was among the best I've had with many choices and a lovely area to enjoy it. My room was beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and well equipped. It included a sofa, mini-fridge, kettle, almost instant hot water in the shower, large marble topped nightstands, 2 places to sit and open large bags, and a wardrobe with plenty of hangers. Private parking lot! Staff were friendly and very helpful. In short, one of my favorite hotels in any town in Greece. I plan to return.

The roughly 6 flights of stairs from the hotel's small parking area to the top floor room. There appear to be rooms on 3 levels. Note: This is not a hotel for people who can not or do not want to climb a lot of stairs.There is no elevator. If you're OK with stairs, I highly recommend this hotel. The stairs are explained in the hotel description, so I knew this before I booked and was OK with it. The men working there carried my bags up and down :>) The bed was a tiny bit hard for my preference.

This is a lovely property in a heritage building in the old town. Our room was clean and comfortable with a lovely view off the verandah. The breakfast was excellent and the property managers were very helpful- even carrying our suitcases up all the stairs!

Nothing - but do be aware it is a steep path and quite a few steps up and down from beach and restaurants so may present difficulties for anyone with mobility issues.

Ilion's great location is a few blocks off the main road so it is close to the action but quiet for sleeping. Our very comfortable room had a fantastic view of the town and the Gulf of Corinth. The full breakfast was very good with made to order coffee, fresh fruit, cakes, breads, egg dishes, yogurt, etc. We didn't mind all of the stairs but elected to leave our roller suitcases in the car and just bring up what we needed in our small backpacks since we were only there one night. Free parking is in the front of the hotel. Nafpatkos is a charming town with some decent beaches, an old Venetian fort with beautiful views of the gulf, cute shops and restaurants, and a picture-perfect old world harbor. It is not on the main tourist itinerary, which is a huge plus! If you are looking for a perfect place to stop for the afternoon/evening/night on a drive from Kastraki (Meteora) to Nafplio, or any other Peloponese destination, Nafpatkos is it.

Very beautiful building with a great view and tons of charm! Wonderful location for walking to either the port or up to the castle. Breakfast was also very good with freshly squeezed orange juice. And the bed was super comfy! Good vibes all around.

Driving up to the hotel is a little bit steep so be careful- if you're used to driving in Greece though it is no big deal, and there is easy parking once you get up there.

We had a wonderful visit. The room was great and the bathroom was big with a decent size shower cubicle. The shower had various options for its use and there was plenty of hot water. The bed was a good size and very comfortable. Our room had a view overlooking the sea which despite the inclement weather still was picturesque. Should have started off with this. The greeting at reception was warm and friendly and all our questions answered easily and succinctly. The location of the hotel is great with only a short walk to town when we went to get dinner. The following morning we were greeted by Giorgos who couldn’t have been more helpful. His cooked breakfast was well prepared and we both loved the fact that the orange was freshly squeezed. We could hear him preparing the juice. Breakfast itself was delicious and there was a good choice of food. Coffee was freshly prepared and I even had another, more than my usual 1 cup. The covered terrace in front of the breakfast area was a great place to sit and enjoy the second coffee and relax in preparation for the the coming days drive to Piraeus. Again Giorgios proved excellent throughout the morning with help and advice. An excellent member of staff.
