Lovely heritage building ,well preserved in an amazing garden setting . Ample parking space Room was large & airy ,with large windows & fans (I hate airconditioning !) Breakfast was good (could be better , service & quality of food also needs improvement) Draft beer served in restaurant Malgudi Days- restaurant in the main building had some great bakes & juices

-maintenance issues ,fan regulator needed replacement ,plumbing problems- hot water was just a trickle in both sink& bath area ,need bath mat .... -Road side noise till late night .-check in not professional, manager was not available when asked for..... -staff have been around for a long time, a bit lethargic, need more training

Beautiful building, a little frayed round the edges, but I was lucky enough to get a room in the main building and loved it. It was also a delight to sit out on the lawn at night to eat surrounded by fairy lights. Magical. The food was good as was the beer.

For me the big disadvantage was the distance from town. I also found it off putting that they couldn’t give me information about public buses. They were only interested in trying to persuade me to take a private car to Wayanad, which is not what I wanted.

This hotel is in a beautiful old building set in extensive and pretty gardens. There is a very good restaurant - delicious local food - as well as a coffee shop with home made cakes and biscuits, and in addition there are large communal areas on the ground floor where guests can sit, with fine traditional furnishings.

The rooms are of mixed quality: we stayed in a large and beautiful room in the main old building, but were originally booked into a room in the more recent annexe which would have been less comfortable. The electrics and plumbing need modernising. Street noise can be a problem, though the garden is a great compensation.

The Green Hotel is an oasis of tranquility in a busy city. The main palace house is beautiful and full of antiquated charm. We were lucky to be put in touch with a terrific tuk tuk driver who became a guide and transport for all things yoga and all things Mysore. His name is Shiva Shankar and the team at the Green Hotel can easily connect you with him.

Let me start by saying that I love this place and that if I visit again, I’d definitely choose to stay here. The energy in the place is divine. Walks around the garden are magical. Food and the location is great.

The only reason I’ve rated my experience 9/10 (wonderful instead of exceptional) is the Wi-Fi. It was very hard to take work calls, I had to reschedule most of my meetings. I hope the management invests in this, it would truly elevate the experience to exceptional levels.

1. This is a heritage property that was previously a Palace. I read that a popular Indian TV serial on Tipu Sultan was shot here. It's grand and well maintained. We were a family of four people and stayed in the 'Princess' Room. It was very spacious. Well ventilated. The breeze from large windows blew all evening. Washroom was well ventilated and clean. The entire floor is just straight out of a movie. 2. The staff was very kind, professional and polite. Mr. Syed, Charan, Manju and Prashant were proactive and helpful. Charan specially made sure that we got the best room and provided everything on our arrival. 3. Sprawling garden that houses a bar and a restaurant thats open till 10 pm. Sit, relax and enjoy the palace view.

Food quality can be improved.

The Green Hotel, recommended by a friend, not only lived up to expectations, it had more charm and warmth than I was expecting. From the first day, I felt at home and was impressed with the service. The food was excellent... and I've seen reviews mentioning the slowness of the service.. .I didn't experience it at all! In fact, I felt very well looked after. The people I particular felt helped me were Chandru, on front desk, Manju on front desk, Charan who was on staff in the afternoons... Nunngah.. Jagdish... oh... really, quite a few others whose names I may not know but whose smiles and kindness I most definitely felt.. Thank you!! I will be back.

One are that wasn't quite as it might have been was my proximity to noisy diners late at night. So, while the hotel can't control guests, I'd suggest that perhaps if there are late diners, they might be seated far away from the rooms, as their revelry (and great... for them!)... tends to be noisy and disturbs the peace. Somewhat. Other than that... lovely gardens, beautifully maintained... all up. Very good

Great rooms with good beds. The restaurant food is amazing. Overall the hotel is beautiful and open. This is my second time I have stayed at the hotel. You will not have AC in the room, which works great for person like me, maybe not for others. The rooms remains cool coz of guess the old style architecture and all the greenery around.

The service is great in all departments, but the restaurant kitchen is slow. (but then its Mysore, so expect a relaxed life there :-) )

Excellent ambience. The outdoor seating in the evening was very nice. The staff were also friendly. Rooms were comfortable and clean.

Could have provided TV in the rooms. The Euro cup is going on and would have liked to watch that on a tv. Basic breakfast. Idli Vada and sambar. Nothing exceptional about it. It was average quality idli and vada.

-Loved being there during Dasara -ideal location ,slightly away from city centre but close to restopubs like Bopy's , Le Ruchi Prince, etc. -Location & the beautiful white heritage building set amidst a well landscaped/maintained garden are the plus points -old world charm , no airconditioning, generator, only good old fans & the fact that windows can be kept open !! All good for a great carbon footprint ! - the craft store selling Pattachitra/Palm Leaf paintings was a great discovery - lovely artworks at reasonable prices -Sayema could give good info about how they were helping revive these dying arts ..... - good bakery with some great stuff ! -food on the lawns in the evenings ....

-Staff are very easygoing & laid back, need younger/properly trained staff -Breakfast menu & preparation need improvement , took 20mins to get omelette & the coffee was laid down with a thud ! -bathroom fittings are dated & hardly working , shower curtain needed badly, water is very hard /untreated(?) - ruined my hair & was worried .
