Astra is a truly exceptional B&B. It all begins with the host, Anna Maria. She is a truly lovely person who greets you as if you are a long lost cousin. She contacted me immediately after booking to introduce herself and offer assistance making dining reservations. Upon arrival, she took me on a stroll through the center of Alberobello, pointing out various restaurants and shops of interest and orienting me to the different sectors of the town. The breakfasts are traditional and feature delicious mozzarella, prosciutto, and pastries from a Martina Franca pasticceria. Parking, while not immediately adjacent to Astra, is available a short walk away and it is possible to park short-term in front of Astra to load and unload luggage. The best part is that you are staying in a trulli house that has been in Anna Maria's family for generations. Her pride in the superb condition of the property is evident and well-earned. A stay at Astra is a truly special, exceptional experience and I hope to return.

The room is in an ancient Truillo and is very spacious and clean with very good amenities in the heart of the town. Easy walk to the attractions. Free parking nearby. The hostess Anna Marie was very hospitable, friendly and provided an excellent and inclusive breakfast. No request was too small to accommodate. Spent two nights exploring the town and eating at fine restaurants. Took a tour on a golf cart like vehicle with a local guide. Followed the hostess’ recommendations and enjoyed our stay immensely.

A little tricky to find but once there no need to move the car as the location was perfect.

This was our favorite stay in Italy so far! The host, Anna Maria, became like family. She was the sweetest person and took time to show us the grounds, explain to us the city, make a scrumptious authentic breakfast. You rarely find a host like this. She is the sweetest. The Trulli was such a remarkable place to sleep in for two nights- very historical. This one in particular was beautifully decorated by the host, comfortable bed, AC, stunning bathroom. It also had a secret garden feeling outside! Was BEAUTIFUL

The rooms were very clean, modern refurbishment and well decorated. The host was charming, very helpful and kind. The breakfast was fresh and locally sourced. It’s close to the cathedral and a short walk to the trulli’s. It is away from the tourist traps for some peace but can be reached to the heart of the old town in 5-7mins walk. The garden with the old olive trees was special and the history of the Trullo was very nice to learn. It’s a nice find and well decorated.

Everything is perfect. If there was a rating of 100, this place would definitely get it:). Superb decoration, incredible cleanliness, peace and the complete ambience is perfect. However, the highest praise goes to the host Anna Maria. So much kindness and effort that she invests for each guest is really hard to find today. Anna should be an ambassador for Alberobello:))) Thankd again for everything:-)

Anna Maria was the best host we could’ve hoped for, she was super helpful, went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy with our stay. It was such a cool experience staying in an authentic Trulli and Astra had a beautiful atmosphere with a common area and garden. It was also super clean and the beds and pillows were really comfortable.

Annemarie was the best hostess that we have ever had at a B&B - she went above and beyond expected hospitality and was so friendly and joyful! First, she stayed up super late to wait for us to check in after a delayed flight. She then personally drove us through the town to help us find a parking spot. Annemarie also made some delicious breakfasts (including going to pick us up special donuts so we could try them) and her trullis were lovely. Very well-maintained and clean. The location was awesome, just a few blocks away from the old town and walking distance to the tourist area. The premises were quiet and relaxing. Cannot more highly recommend Hotel Astra after our experience with Annemarie!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful city, with the warmest welcome ever. Anywhere, in any circumstance, passion and grace are always great assets. And when it comes to passion and grace, B&B Astra and Anna Maria are truly exceptional. We rarely give 10s, but this place deserves them! We recommend it incredibly highly.

Anna Maria was exceptional!! An amazing host who ensured a very personal touch in all her activities. We were late to arrive however, she ensured to stay back until we arrived. Since it was late she ensured to take us around to show us the best restaurants and even offered her best wine as the welcome drink for us. She even provided us with maps and gave a brief about the history of Trulli's. The Trulli experience was even exceptional, Excellent location Amazing breakfasts Clean rooms We loved staying at Anna Maria's Astra. We highly recommend this place and love to come back again.

The Trullo is authentic and beautifully restored with antique furniture, gorgeous bed linen and a spacious bathroom. Anna Maria is a lovely lady and fabulous hostess. The array of breakfast items she sources fresh everyday are a real treat. Then the garden!!! To be able to escape the crowds (D&G Fashion show) and heat in your own garden complete with two hundred year old olive trees is a once in a life time.
