Nice breakfast, awesome view and location for the breakfast. The staff is amazing, they are really kind and also gave us a small tour to the closed parts of the church. They offered us to pack food for the breakfast as we needed to leave very early in the morning. The location is literally perfect. It was also in a quite street. Nice touch that there is a coffee machine/tea in the room.

The room is a bit small, the shower could be a bit cleaner and the walls are a bit thin.

Great choice for anyone seeking cultural experience and basic, but still good-value for money, accommodation. Although central location, still quiet. Rooms are quite basic (e.g. no TV), but functional and clean. What I liked the most, it provides the authentic experience of the former monastery. Good breakfast for the hotel of that level. Kind receptionist.

The single room has a small bed (if you are a tall person, it is definitely small/short :)). It would be nice to replace single-use plastic cups with glass/paper (eco-friendly) cups at the breakfast.

From the staff to the site where hotel San Francesco is located at, everything is set to provide guests with an incredible experience. I have been staying at Hotel San Francesco since 2018 during my first trip to Alghero as an adult. One me ton goes to the incredibly welcome and helpful staff that goes above and beyond in order to offer a truly warm and familiar atmosphere to the visitors. The hotel is very suitable for women traveling alone.Location is very convenient and central to most places of interest, and even though being in the hearth of the old town,it is a safe and peaceful place to return to at the end of your day.Cleanliness is excellent, staff very polite and of service. Being a cultural monument itself, the hotel offered me a quite unique experience.

Everything was more than expected.

We took a break from our countryside accommodation to spend a night in Alghero and book this wonderful converted monastery 'on the hop'. It was incredibly good value and right in the centre of town - allowing us to spend time eating and drinking without the worry of trying to get home. The hotel furnishing was basic but spotlessly clean and the staff we met were very friendly. Very good value for money and the building had amazing character. We were delighted to have breakfast in the cloisters before departing.

There's nothing to criticize given the price was so good and the location so central.

It is a very nice Hotel in a heart of an old city. I could highly recomended it, especial for people, who are travelingl alone. Very very friendly staff, perfect location, clean rooms, change of towels and cleaning each day, good breakfast, video monitoring of main entrance from the street and floor corridors, fast internet, small but comfortable room with all that you need. And most importantly is the opportunity to live in one of the main attractions of the city with a sense of atmosphere, when you touch something ancient with age-old history.

In compare with pluses, minuses are very minor and are known beforehand. Very small room (but you see it in description, and you cannot expected big room in old monastery :) Very small shower cabin, perhaps a person with large dimensions will not fit in it.

Set in a 14th century cloister in what used to be a convent, you feel too honoured to be able to stay here to mark it down for anything. Right in the old town centre, no TV but Wi-Fi in the tiny rooms, a bathroom too small to function comfortably, and an expectation to clear away your own breakfast plates, but none of this matters when you get to see that courtyard from your window, and hear the piano playing from the church below. A magical place. Friendly, accommodating staff too. Some pretty neat woodcuts on the corridor walls also.

Excellent location! Walking distance to everything. Incredible feeling to be staying in such a historic building - part of which is still a “working” house of worship. The staff is friendly and courteous. The rooms are cleaned to a high standard daily. TIP - if driving to the property DO NOT FOLLOW the sat nav instructions! it has you driving down pedestrian only cobbled streets. There’s a large open air car park 5 minutes away on the seafront road (via Guiseppe) Parking is FREE until 01 June!

The bathroom was just a little too small.

The room was smaller but fully equipped, comfortable mattress. The bathroom had hot water running all day. The shower is smaller. The staff was nice and helpful. There is also fruit and excellent coffee for breakfast. The location of the hotel is excellent, it's a short walk everywhere and the beach is about 15 minutes away. The hotel is in a pedestrian area so a taxi does not go to the hotel.

I loved the location of this hotel. It's so close to everything. The breakfast was gorgeous and the staff were fab.

The rooms are dated but functional. Everything worked fine and it was ideal for our visit. Only one socket and no TV but we managed fine.
