This hotel is beautifully situated on a very good shopping street right beside the Old town and therefore close to an endless amount of restaurants. We had a lovely clean room with a balcony, fridge and air-conditioning that was serviced every day. All of the staff that we spoke to very really friendly and helpful and I would like to thank all those on reception who supplied me with a cup of hot water each night.

I would have liked a kettle in my room. Also their breakfast service could definitely be improved. You had to queue for hot drinks, orange juice and milk for your cereal. I felt that the orange juice and cold milk could have been left on the table outside the counter, or else have two staff serving. The queue was often very long, through no fault of the girl serving. which meant that often my husband or myself (depending on who joined the queue) was nearly finished his breakfast by the time one of us had received the drinks

The Hotel La Margherita is a perfect base for exploring Alghero: the old town and the port are just minutes away. The hotel was scrupulously clean, the breakfast was good, and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Location was amazing and Alghero was definitely one of our Sardinia highlights. The facilities are slightly outdated, but almost with retro charme, and clean and functional. The staff was very friendly and forthcoming, incredibly nice to interact with. Room had a small, seaside facing balcony which was nice and breakfast was a nice, standard, cold buffet.

Pool access is at extra cost after 3pm and requires you to buy robe, slippers etc. Hotel parking is also charged 10eur a day - but street parking was easily found and free around the corner. July/Aug 22 they were re-doing the facade so the rooftop terrace was closed and believe the rooms on the side of the building had scaffolding blocking all balconies.

Location Cleanliness Friendliness

The fact that the Spa was shown in pictures led me to believe that it was included in the price. However, you had to pay separately to use pool-€25 to use the pool for an hour which I think is totally excessive.

Great location in old town. The staff were incredibly helpful with our inquiries. The spa pool was free to use up until a certain time and then it could be hired for private use with a fee of approx €30. Room was bigger than we expected and included a balcony so we think we might have received an unexpected upgrade. Lots of towels and a great shower.

Rooftop bar is out of order due to construction but will be open again sometime in September 2023. It would have been nice to use. The bed was quite firm for my preference. Typical low power hairdryer attached to the wall in the bathroom but I always bring my own.

Breakfast very good and entertaining of choices. Staff in breakfast room wonderful.

We were disappointed not to have breakfast up on roof as in 4 previous visits over the years. We were not nformed that construction work was going on on the rooftop and which was at times noisy. We understand that work is due to be finished in about 6 months time.

I loved the proximity to the sea and city center (old town). I appreciated the daily cleaning services (room and bathroom tidied up and towels changed every day). Continental breakfast available for 6 Euros but we wanted to go for the Italian colazione on our own (tons of places around to get perfect coffee and chocolate/marmalade croissants!)

The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The reception staff were extremely helpful and super friendly, particular mention to Angelisa and Federica! The hotel was perfectly located in the Old Town and close to the harbour.

The breakfast was satisfactory. The queue for the coffee obstructed access to the cereals and yoghurts - they could have been set out in another part of the room.

The location of the hotel is more than perfect. The bed is very comfortable and the staffs are really nice and helpful.

I really liked the staff, they delivered exceptional customer service and were always very friendly. I would like to praise the ones I encountered: Gazi Francesco Anna Frederica Davide The staff provided me with many recommendations in terms of what to do around the area and where to go for restaurants, since it was my first time in Sardinia. The breakfast and spa areas were lovely. I enjoyed sitting at the reception lounge, they had nice relaxing music. My room was cleaned very well by the housekeepers.
