Absolutely loved this hotel! Went with two friends and got the triple room. The terrace where you will have breakfast and can have dinner and drinks is stunning! What a gem of a location, beautiful view! More detailed review that I hope is helpful for new guests: LOCATION & PARKING Fantastic location, a little bit outside of Amalfi town but easy to reach by car or bus (approx 5-10min). Roads are small here in the area so highly recommend getting a small car! Our Fiat Panda was perfect. The gentlemen at the reception were most kind to park the car for us in their private parking area and get it out again when we needed. ROOM We had a triple room, which had 3 single beds. This was totally fine for us as we were mostly out all day. The rooms are a bit dated, but it has a charm. Be mindful that it is a relatively busy road, however, he shutters and window helps with dampening the noise! BREAKFAST & DINNER The breakfast and dinner are served upstairs on their terrace. Absolutely stunning views of the mountains and the sea! Breakfast buffet was generous and deliciously fresh fruits and cakes, they also serve toast or freshly cut bread and scrambled eggs, cheeses and cuts of meat. Dinner is a must! Still one of the best in Amalfi, highly recommend getting their Gamberi y Limone risotto and try their Lemon Spritz! We have been trying many different Lemon Spritz's along the Amalfi coast but Hotel La Pergola's one still holds the number on spot. BEACH & TOWELS We highly recommend their local beach! It is small and a lot quieter than Amalfi town's beachside. Do be mindful that it is quite way down along the steps (walk about 300m just past the corner store and parking lot, there are steps to go down). The beach has a restaurant there that also have a FREE taxi-boat that brings you to Amalfi town, a lovely little boat trip. You can rent sunbeds, however be mindful that this is expensive at about €30 pp.

Not much to fault, the rooms are perhaps a bit dated and the shower was small. Other than that we would definitely come back to Hotel La Pergola!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel La Pergola, it was absolutely amazing, from start to end. The staff are really friendly and helpful, they create such a nice atmosphere. They were able to help us with everything, transport, some tips around the area, renting a scooter and even helped my fiancé organising a bouquet surprise for my birthday there. The breakfast was delicious and the chef cooks some amazing dishes for dinner. Lemon garden is a bliss and perfect to feel the whole Amalfi experience. Their homemade limoncello is the best we tried! Thank you guys for making our stay memorable.

It was all really good!

This is a family hotel owned by mother and son. They are both so warm and welcoming. We took the lemon experience followed by a delicious 5 course lemon centered dinner! Highly recommend. We didn’t realize the mom gives cooking lessons twice a week, by the time we understood it was booked, definitely would recommend that. We ate all 3 nights of our stay dinner at their restaurant their food was so good. They take such pride in finding the best fish daily and all vegetables are grown in their own garden. Would recommend the vegetable plate in their appetizer section to accompany any dinners. Then their breakfast is absolutely amazing, the best we had including a 5 star hotel we stayed in at Naples. La Pergola exceeds everything in regards to food!!!!!!! They have a nice roof balcony for drinks or just relaxing. Again everyone was friendly and relaxed. When we booked we knew it was 10 minutes or less outside Amalfi but didn’t want to deal with the crowd at night or all the steps. This hotel has an elevator and both the bus and taxi drop you off directly in front. We were here 3 days and each day we planned to be in another day trip excursion so it worked great. The ferry only stops in amalfi and positano and is definitely the way to travel, it runs on time, no slow traffic issues and if you buy tickets online your guaranteed your spot on that ship. We learned best way to get a taxi from the hotel is to arrange the time the night before. During the day the taxis sit at the bus and ferry stops. It costs $30 euro to go from hotel to amalfi center. We also took taxi to Ravello and it cost $90 euro. On way back we were planning on a bus but a taxi came and said would take 7 people at $10 euro so we quickly found 4 others to join us. Ravello is worth visiting! Positano is a must see, though we planned on sitting at the beach and the weather wasn’t good. We stayed 2 nights in Annacapri which was amazing. Only missed sorrento. But la pergola we would definitely stay at again.

We ended up taking taxis each day which was a lovely way to travel. The buses are crowded and if the bus is full it will not stop.

Everything was really good. The staff was very nice! The breakfast and dinner were really good.

The only thing was the small shower and that you have to take a bus from Amalfi to get to and from the Hotel. You should tell the customers or have a service at least when someone arrives and leaves.

We liked everything. The view from the room, the breakfast, the restaurant, the cordiality of the staff, the vegetable garden, the position. Again, everything was perfect for us. I love how they have a vegetable garden and that they actually use their produce to feed ppl in their restaurant. The actual pergola was amazing. 6 or 7 levels of terrace with all these lemons pending from the wooden posts. Spectacular work. Mario and Salvatore at the reception have been amazing, Daniele the owner and chef knows what he is doing. Enjoying the life, and letting ppl that stay in his hotel enjoy it too, even if just for a few days. We even had a small problem where we forgot a watch in the room after checkout, and they packed it and shipped it in no time. Will surely come back.

Beautiful location, stunning views, 8 mins bus ride to Amalfi coast for 1.50 euros single (tickets bought at reception in advance), or a 30 min walk downhill (we did both). The staff were so kind to us, breakfast options are excellent (buffet continental). Dinner is excellent, the chef is brilliant, the gardens are lovely, it's very refreshing seeing the food grown on site used at dinner. I really enjoyed the Lemon Happy hour they offered (45 euros pp). The balcony in the bedroom provided the perfect amount of privacy with a beautiful view. The balcony has 2 sets of doors that completely block out sunlight and some noise. It has air con. They accommodated us and provided dinner when we arrived very late from the airport which we really appreciated.

The rooms are on the smaller side, but still lovely and well maintained. The shower cubicle is tiny. There aren't many sockets for charging electrical items. I had booked a double room with a partial sea view for 2 adults. We had a ninja cleaning person who redid our bed sheets as soon as we both left the room each day. It's on a busy road, it is not quiet, it can get noisy during morning and evening rush hour, large vehicles use their horn on every bend on the hill to warn other vehicles ahead coming towards them, this meant they used their horn pretty much directly outside the hotel - just something to be aware of. The bed mattresses are hard, but I got used to it. The drinks in the mini fridge are not free.

3rd time staying here and as always was exceptional, staff are superb and breakfast is the best I've had anywhere in Italy, You also have to try the food in the restaurant. it's exceptional,

Not much, the only improvement I could make is maybe extra pillows in the rooms and the additional of a bigger TV with smart features would be a bonus for the lazy evenings after long days walking the coast, but even without this change it would still be my first choice hotel at amalfi (Ohh and a couple taxis refused to drop us back up to the hotel from amalfi) not the hotels fault off course, but one benefit is that you get some great views of the coastline in the dark ( the walk is about 25-30 mins at a slow enough pace) but worth every step

We enjoyed our stay here a lot. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Hotel has a small garage, and the staff parks your car so you don't hit someone else's. Hotel is maybe 2 km from Amalfi center, and it could be walkable, but the hotel is a bus stop for the SITA bus for 1.50 euro to go into Amalfi or return from there. You can catch the bus too that goes opposite direction into Positano or beyond if you want. Breakfast was chock full of offerings; you won't leave hungry. The hotel also serves dinner and given that it is outside Amalfi, we chose to eat there one of our nights and had an excellent meal. Our room was ample in size, with a lovely balcony, large bathroom, king bed. The hotel has a rooftop bar and its own lemon groves from which they make a super lemon spritz. They also make their own pasta and the Maitre'd shows you the fresh fish of the day.

If you want to be right in Amalfi, this is a distance away, but as stated, you can catch the SITA bus to get to and from hotel right into Amalfi or Positano. Even if you have a car, not really worth it to drive into Amalfi or Positano, just take the bus or use the water taxi to go from one city to another -- absolutely beautiful vistas from the sea looking at the coast.

We loved the location of the hotel.. on the coast road with great views from the rooms and the fantastic roof terrace. Amalfi was approx 3 km and an easy mostly downhill walk.(uphill for the return) The staff were all great - there to help in any way they could, we enjoyed joking around with the staff but they could organise taxis, trips and offer advice etc They provided a fantastic taxi driver to take us back to Naples (cost agreed in advance) The rooms had their own style... We liked ours a lot, fantastic balcony with seaviews.. comfortable beds.. matching pastel blue furniture throughout... a nice shower room.. Breakfast was great... A self service buffet with bacon, scrambled eggs, sliced meats, cheese, fruit, croissants, choice of cakes Coffee served at the table as needed.

It would have been nice if the bar had been open at lunchtime for snacks and drinks.. there's nothing much near the hotel. The other problem is transport... If you can afford to take taxis everywhere then great.... If it's buses for you, then prepare for standing on packed buses (if you can get on) or walking home.
