Bresbot is a rare, unconventional property, and more people should know about it. It is a beautiful antique house, and many rooms have been upgraded to the level of a multiple-starred hotel. The rear garden has a fantastic pool and a bar to socialize in, and yet there is no check-in desk. The hotel is in a small village that seems to be in the middle of nowhere but is close to everywhere (within a two-hour drive – Milan, Verona, Turin, Parma, Genoa, and Northern Tuscany). It has decent air conditioning, a nice pool, a good breakfast, plenty of parking, Wi-Fi, and all the normal accouterments, but the hosts are the real gems of a stay at Bresbot. It's family-run, and you could not have a better collection of people to spend time with. While not everyone speaks English, every single staff member is charming if you get to know them. With the hosts as the lead, the backyard becomes not so much a hotel but a small resort with a built-in social circle. My recommendation is to book a few days at Bresbot, spend the days doing day trips, and enjoy the resort-like atmosphere in the evenings. We did, and my family could not have been happier.

Having been confused by some of the negative reviews on booking.com, I think I can address what Bresbot is not. Bresbot is not a five-star hotel. While you may get a room that looks like one, its price point is half (or less) of what a five-star hotel is. Old houses in farming areas collect dust a lot faster than a septic Marriott, and that's part of the charm. The staff does multiple jobs, so you may get checked in by someone who does not speak multiple languages, but everyone there is nice and works to get the job done. Like a lot of things in life, you get out what you put in. My family and I maximized the wonderful experience the hosts created and highly recommend it to anyone.

- Stefano, the owner and the host, is extremely welcoming, approachable and friendly. He offered us a glass of cava and made us feel like in an inner circle and gave tons of recommendations on where to dine in the area - Good breakfast - "baroque" palace-like rooms are a unique offering - In summer it must be spectacular with the gardens as well

As the place has its history, some systems are quite old which could be an issue for sensitive groups: e.g. hot water takes its couple of minutes to come to your room through the pipes; also, for people with asthma, last century curtains and furniture could be triggering

What a beautiful Haus, bulid on the 18th century, it's like getting a chance to live in a museum, everything was amazing to look at, the painting on the ceiling had very strong positive energy, it was amazing to sleep under it, We have loved the stay, the staff was extremely friendly, we felt home, the fridge was full of cola and water and juices, it was free to take during the night too, the owner was someone special, someone who I would like to meet again, the breakfast was unlimited, the owner him self cooked the eggs and bacon's etc, I would definitely go there again, my family loves the place

The owner was the kindest man. We were due to have stayed on 17 June but had issues getting to the property on that day because of vehicle problems. We had to wait until the Monday before we could move on with our journey but he happily switched the booking to the Monday for us without charge. We were leaving very early the next day, before their breakfast service started, but we got up to find that the owner had made us coffee and breakfast as well. Such amazing service and generosity. We were only there for such a short time but had a good nights sleep and would definitely stop again if we were to be passing. A heartfelt thanks to this wonderful person.

Nothing!

The host and his sister were so gracious and welcoming and he certainly “knows his chickens.” The home and grounds were absolutely lovely and relaxing. The morning breakfast was very generous and had such variety to meet any traveler’s palate or dietary needs. Details, such as the frescoed ceiling and intricate tapestries, felt opulent without being imposing. simply delightful!

It is remote, so guests should plan. We found it much more convenient to Milan airport than our house in Fivizzano, so we found the location to be a big positive and hope to stay here again in the future.

Great garden, all facilities at disposal including barbecues, kind and resourceful staff, great breakfast, very dog friendly, very clean, fantastic organic pizza nearby

Paper thin walls & noisy family leaving their door open that night, pillow too big and too hard gave me neck pain

Stefano is very friendly and helped with what we needed. The atmosphere is of an old classic in a good sense, Stefano is very friendly and offered us drinks, snacks, and everything we needed. The breakfast is very good, and the rooms are very spacious. The kids had a great time sleeping in this unique building.

The Shower could be more comfortable.

Excellent host! Wonderful breakfast, orange juice fresh croissants, coffee was great. We ordered eggs off their menu and they were made perfect. Stefano helped us with all our needs and his recommendation for pizza in town was great! And only a short walk away.

We had a really good time here. After travelling more than 1000km we were tired and just wanted a bed only. But what we’ve got was much more than that. Stefano offered us drink from the bar which is next to the pool and we had a really good chat. We even got barbecue dinner. He is friendly with everyone, a very kind person. The house is an old castle which has it’s own style and with exceptional mood of the old italian countryside. The rooms are nice, we had a really big bathroom, beds are comfortable. Breakfast was extraordinary, with everything we could wish. I recommend!

The staff is exceptional! Their food is delicious, they offer free drinks and food all day, and they just make us feel like family. Best place I’ve ever stayed at on vacation. They also have air conditioning in the room which is perfect.

No elevator so you have to carry everything up the stairs.
