Beautiful building and furnishings.Centrally located just off the main square.Very comfortable room and the staff were very helpful.

The only slight issue I had was that my room was at the front of the hotel adjacent to the side street that it’s on.There is a bar on the corner of the main square which played music until quite late which I could hear in my room.I raised this with the staff and they did there best to ensure that the bar stopped playing music when there were supposed to.

The staff was EXCEPTIONAL !! From Alessandro ( GM evening ) Francesca ( front desk ) and Tahir - these 3 were a wonderful greeting to this hotel and town. We arrived late and they welcomed our frazzled selves into their hotel. Francesca made dinner reservations, Alessandro parked our car and Tahir took care of our luggage. These acts sound simple but to us that night - they went over and above helping us. This is a 4-star hotel because they have the best staff along with their beautiful hotel. Do not stay anywhere else -because you will not get this exceptional treatment. The kindness they showed us was so appreciated.

First and foremost the reception staff went above and beyond for us. We had a lot of things planned and required taxis to get there which they sorted out for us (it was not an easy task as we learned). They were friendly and nothing was too much. The hotel is beautiful, we were lucky to stay in a room at the top floor which had a skylight where you could see the most stunning views. The room had a rustic italian feel and made our experience of Cortona all the more perfect.

Only one thing that we felt wasn't quite perfect and that was the breakfast. The service was a little slow and the options were not varied enough (to suit a vegetarian diet).

Have been to cortona many times but didn’t stay in hotel san Michelle We stayed in agritourismo , however the hotel was wonderful and worth a stay beautifully kept old building with spacious, comfortable , light filled room.

Breakfast - couldn’t help yourself to fruit / yoghurt etc you could have cereal etc but I like a fruit breakfast / eggs more options on view , we had just woken up and would have liked the selection to see in front of us rather than a plastic menu , disappointing compared to other breakfasts in Italy but it’s first world problems when put into context !! Still a lovely breakfast !

it’s two beautiful joined buildings from I would guess the late 18th century.

there was only one electric outlet available to charge iPhone and iPad that we both had. also the website or booking. com did not make us aware how to get to Cortona from the station. one has to arrange with the hotel for a car to kick us up. Not knowing this we took a bus which left us at the bottom of a very very steep hill. we had to drag out suitcases and bags up that hill to get to the hotel. not fun and not necessary had we known.

The location is very convenient. Please note it is on a very steep hill, so if you’re not able to manage walking to/from physically, this may not be the place for you. Cortona is full of hills in general. Beautiful décor, amazing ample breakfast and super friendly staff. It has a classical “old Italian” feel but kept up pristinely.

Wonderfully located with old world charm and lovely areas to sit in. Modern door lock system was very secure. I’d advise anyway arriving with a car to book a place in their garage. Well worth €30 as parking outside the walls is usually full. Wonderful restaurant next door Il Preludio.

We had a very warm welcome to the hotel. As we checked in I mentioned we were hungry and the kind host called to find an open restaurant and made a reservation for us. The restaurant was 2 doors down and was excellent. Our room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent!

Excellent central location with wonderfully helpful staff at reception. The room was beautiful, clean and quiet,; look forward to staying here again.

It was a really great stay, but probably would take breakfast outside next time - a bit dark inside, and a wait for tables to be cleared, coffee to be topped up.

You will love this place: it's in the heart of Cortona and you'll feel the magic of this place. Hotel staff is very kind and helpul; breakfast is good. Remember: you can't access to the city centre by car but hotel can allow you to load/unload your suitcases by a temporary pass.
