It was an oasis in middle of mandarin and lemon orchards. Perfect for a quiet winter break. Liked the spa which I booked so I had the pool to myself.Was upgraded to a room with a garden so I could sit in it in private as the pool area was closed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Def need to rent a car if staying longer.

shower tray very slippery. could only open cupboards from floor, no handles fine if you are able to bend down. room service was expensive. Booking .com had not made it clear that you have an additional charge for the spa. If I had known would have booked thru hotel or Mr and Mrs Smith.

We absolutely loved this hotel! Everything is amazing, from the property to the hotel in itself. Every single detail is well thought, inside but also outside. Our room (while being the simplest) was very spacious and lovely, while the common areas were all amazing - and yes, it’s exactly like the pictures! Regarding the train - because I saw numerous comments about that - it’s honestly nothing. Our room was towards the railway and not once were we woken up by it. And let’s be honest, even during the day, it usually lasted 2 seconds, not more. So let’s just say that the train is just there to remind you that you are not living in a dream :-)

It's an absolutely beautiful location and the pool is fantastic, the breakfast staff in the restaurant were lovely. Aurora who was our waitress for the 8 course dinner was brilliant and was helped by her male waiting colleague. The orange blossom hits you when you arrive, and it is an incredibly beautiful place, mind blowing. Treatment in the spa fantastic, the lady was wonderful, the guy who moved our bags and the team who checked us in. Everyone apart from those mentioned in what I didn't like and I absolutely promise, I am not a person who looks for the stuff to complain about.

I tend not to complain, ever, it's not my style. I will be in touch with the hotel owner directly to voice my concerns about how appallingly the Maitre D and Head Sommelier dealt with a simple miscommunication in the restaurant. Aurora went over and above but was hamstrung by the ineptitude of the managers. Incredibly disappointing and so unnecessary. My guess is the issue will be rectified and learned from. It should not put anyone off staying as the food is good and the setting fabulous.

Amazing hotel on the Sicilian country side! The rooms as well as the facilities are fantastic and the staff is great. The hotel spa was amazing and the massages was one of the best I’ve ever had. Breakfast was delicious, but the Michelin restaurant (dinner) was not for me. I was a little bit disappointed but taste is very personal so…😊 I would recommend guests staying here to have a car as the location is kind of remote. Would definitely go back!

The only thing I was missing was a gym, otherwise the hotel is 10/10!

Contemporary style! Excellent restaurant and great pool area. Quiet secluded location.

Entrance to the estate looks like its closed? Signage not very clear or inviting. Railway line closeby so occasional noise from through trains but not enough to out us off. No other opportunity to eat at the hotel other than at the Michelin star restaurant and no obvious alternative restaurants close by.

The common places are amazing. Very cost with a lot of plants and trees surrounding the pool. Both the pool and the chairs area by the pool had enough space for everyone to keep its distance. Very friendly.

The room wasn’t very large. And we couldn’t cross each other in the bathroom corridor. The room hadn’t much natural light, nor a balcony. We could listen to the train in the room

stunning gardens (lemon and orange trees), farm like property, pool was beautiful, views on the sea and views on the volcano, the iconic room was very spacious and beautiful with minimalistic design , the restaurant is in a beautiful cave with black stones. the staff at the restaurant was great and the tasting menu was very delicious

-no service at the pool, you have to go to reception to get towels, order food…etc -the pool menu did not have many options. also on Tuesdays, the only dinner option was pizza (although the pizza was great, having other options would have been appreciated) - the railways in the middle of the views with trains frequently passing by

The place is stunning, the pool is great, the 1 star Michelin restaurant is very good and at a decent price. The breakfast is very nice. The staff is very kind and of good advice.

Our room was placed near the spa so the corridor smells like chlore. A few things were broken (door handle of bathroom, one light in the bathroom, toilet flush) and told to the staff but nothing was repared.

we loved the serenity within the grounds of the property. The zen feeling was certainly there when lounging by the pool and cycling around the gardens. the restaurant was also amazing from the food itself to the ambience along with the setting of the restored building.

Fantastic country/ farm boutique feel. Clean simple but functional and comfortable room designs. Excellent Michelin star restaurant. Extremely friendly and attentive staff.

Proximity to train tracks required more sound proofing in the rooms which would also help to reduce the neighbouring room noise.
