Everythings about this unique and elogent place was outstanding. The design, attention to detail, the level of comfort are all second to none. Aesthetically it is sumptious with the most beautiful courtyard, lovely tastefully decorated rooms and located in a charming village. The breakfast was very good including fresh squeezed orange juice and a range of choices. It should also be noted the local restaurant five minutes walk away is truly fantastic and a great gastronomic experience. The staff were also so helpful, Nadia in particular who helped us organise bike rentals and gave us lots of tips and advice. I really very much hope we can one day return and stay longer.

It was very hard to leave.

This is a perfect gem of a place. It is located on a tiny hill town called Guarene. The hotel has been renovated by people who know what they are doing. Every little thing was designed for comfort and style. The staff were extremely helpful, the breakfast was delicious and the beds were the best of our trip. The location is about a 8 minute drive from Alba down a windy path. There is even a charger for electric cars located in this tiny hill town. However, the thing that struck us the most was how beautiful everything was everywhere we looked. If you have a car, rent this place. It's A+

No fault of the hotel, but it was a challenge driving up in this little town owing to the narrow streets and 70 degree slopes of the village. The hotel is perfect. And, in fairness, the view is beyond beautiful.

The property is newly renovated and is situated in one of the most beautiful villages - Guarene - in the Province (and Italy). It’s an easy drive from the local regional city Alba which is also a great place to visit along with the many vineyards and villages in the region. It’s quiet and relaxing. The family and staff who run it are incredibly friendly and helpful and are very proud of what they have created. Breakfast was excellent, and there are loads of restaurants within easy reach.

Could not find fault.

This is one of the best boutique hotels we have been to in Europe. Guarene is a charming little village, and the hotel's location is fantastic. We stayed in the Junior Suite with Balcony, which had a wonderful view of the village and surroundings. The room is huge, well-appointed, and uniquely designed. Nadia (and the rest of the team there) was a wonderful host and helped us plan our two-day stay with restaurants and wineries to visit with excellent recommendations. This place is so tastefully restored and designed, with so much attention to detail. Everything is high-quality and with maximum comfort in mind! Breakfast was great too.

I wish we stayed longer!

The property, breakfast and staff were all well beyond expectations. The staff were able to secure us excellent dinner reservations, provided excellent check in service, and continued to be proactive about making sure our stay was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was marvelous, and the property and location couldn't be better.

I can't think of anything negative. The bed was stiff for my taste, but I know everyone's different.

Il Cortile is a lovely B&B with an historic feel but with modern amenities in our room like a comfortable, king-sz. bed and rain shower head. Our 1 BR. was spacious and comfortable (sofa, chair & desk). Very delicious breakfasts!

The wifi is extremely slow. We did not have a safe as mentioned as one of our amenities.

Superb stay at Il Cortile Di San Michele, the place has been beautifully restored with exquisite tastes! The location is close to Alba and convenient for wine tasting in the region. The breakfast was beyond our expectation, with fresh juices, baked cakes, eggs and else on demand… The team is charming, and we cannot wait to come back and big up to the restaurant Osteria Imperfetta near by.

Our stay was perfect, but we stayed only one night as we had booked another hotel closer to the Wineries as to avoid driving too much afterwards. Guarene is a little stretch by car if you’re tasting in Barolo and La Morra.

Beautiful accommodation in a gorgeous historic town. With only 2 nights and one full day to explore the region, Nadia was an amazing host, putting together a fantastic itinerary for us. She had excellent recommendations for restaurants, wineries, etc. and booked everything for us. Breakfast was also great, we wish we could have stayed longer.

We loved our stay very much and tis is the first 10/10 I've given ever! - The ground floor room is PERFECT for travelling with a baby since it has a terrace in the front and you can leave your stroller outside. - Very good breakfast (a.o. fresh orange juice and pancakes) with delicious coffee - Staff wants to make you feel like kings and queens: they're super helpful and they give you lots of recommendations for discovering the area. They really go the extra mile to make your stay amazing (Thank you so much Rafaella!) - Exceptionally clean (which you can easily notice with a crawling baby) - Upon request, you can have a delicious fresh lunch in the hotel. - The room was very big and quiet: there was no noise from the street or from other rooms in the hotel

- An umbrella at the pool to provide some shadow would be a nice bonus

Beautiful hotel, stunning interiors lots of little details and such a peaceful, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The service was excellent, really helpful and gave us some great restaurants recommendations. I only wish we could have stayed longer. We would love to come back again soon.
