I think the place is phantastic, nice views, room facilities, working AC, good breakfast, affordable, also not far from the port for boat trips.

Mind you are in a natural park, we had no car, in the late evening we walked to the city and back - you could get a meeting with quite big wild pigs running freely around. It scared the hell out of me. I did not like that the staff was aware of problems like no wifi or hot water during our stay, and instead of just telling us, so that we know, waited for us to go back and ask what is wrong... pretty annoying trying out 7 wifi options they had without success or waiting for 10 min. for hot water to come, that would not. And do not get me wrong, I still think the place itself is very good. Problems happen, just very annoyed how this was communicared.

Altura was such a lovely stay. The staff was helpful, accommodating, and very kind. We were lucky enough to be given a free room upgrade with a sea view, which made our stay even better than expected. The location was absolutely beautiful, perched up on the hill, overlooking Palau and the water. The amenities were nice, the rooms were clean, and they had a great breakfast!

Personally the only thing that we disliked was that the beds weren't very comfortable and felt pretty "springy" in the mattress. We were able to sleep just fine, just wish they were a little more comfortable.

The resort itself may not be the most modern one but it has everything you need for a short stay with comfortable parking spaces inside the resort. Perfect breakfast to start the day and clean rooms.

The only downside I found is that I tried to call the resort to advice that I was going to be bit late, as I didn't knew that the reception was 24x7 and with the number I used from Booking.com I couldn't reach the resort.

The staff is amazing, so friendly and helpful. We had a room with partial sea view, with authentic design (white walls, wood panel doors, blue accents). All rooms have a little terrace and a drying rack, handy! Breakfast has many options, by the pool you can also order drinks or a small snack. Beautiful views. But most of all its the staff that makes you feel right at home.

The location is best reached by car (it’s uphill) if you do come by bus, be prepared to walk :) to the center of palau is 20-25 minutes, to the beach (via hiking trail) approximately 8 minutes. There is a small bus that stops about four times a day, from isola di gabiani to palau. We also rented a scooter from NicolSport.

The staff and service were phenomenal. The setting is lovely. I loved our sea view from our room (at a distance) and the ambience of the place. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and the entire staff, especially chef Daniel, worked so hard to accomodate our Celiac ( strictly gluten free) daughter. The location is good, a 3 minute drive to Palau (1.5 km) and very adjacent to the highway for exploring along the coast. The manager gave us great beach recommendations. I definitely recommend booking dinner there. The pool is lovely. It is an older facility and charming in that way, immaculatley clean with solid AC.

I loved it. We did not prefer our first room and the manager immediately moved us to a room which we really enjoyed

The staff were super nice, friendly and willing to help at any point. Our AC stop working so they up graded us and put us in a really big and beautiful room. The pool was perfect. Such a nice place. If/when we go back to Palau, we will definitely stay here. Breakfast was superb with homemade cakes (yes at least four different ones) everyday and fresh fruit.

Comments of other guests who wrote undeserved negative comments. The path to the beach was a bit tricky but OK.

The staff and hotel manager have been wonderful, spared no time to help and guide us in any way possible. They were quite attentive of our interests and needs and definitely went the extra mile. When we arrived without drinking water, a receptionist gave us his own bottle. Arriving a little late for breakfast, a waiter put up a wonderful platter to take back to the room. The director is a fabulous guy with great conversation and culture. There was a technical issue that impaired communication before arriving but this was resolved before arrival and the director arranged our airport transfer himself, which was greatly appreciated.

The cleaning staff could show more discretion when entering the rooms (barely knocking before unlocking the door themselves without waiting for the guest to open).

Lovely individual little properties that opened out to a private outside area with gardens and gorgeous views. Air con was amazing and quiet! Staff were so helpful and kind. In particular Anna who was lovely, giving us recommendations for food and where to visit :)

Everything was good. it was about 20 mins to walk into town which is fine if you don’t mind the heat but we hired a scooter to get around and that was great!

Very beautiful and well located place. The room is very comfortable and clean. The views are amazing.

The hangers need to be changed. Some of them are broken. Watch out for mosquitoes! There are a lot of them and stuff will not help you with that, they have no idea how to fight mosquitoes :D Also, the stuff gave us a few misleading advice about the places in Maddalena. It made us loose some time. I would prefer them not to advise stuff they are not sure about.
