The B and B is in an excellent location. The Teatro Massimo is a few short blocks away if you turn left at the door and to the right is a street filled with vendors that takes you to Via Maqueda which is a street full of restaurants and shops and churches to visit. We were able to easily walk to the train station and we walked to the Royal Palace and Pallatine Chapel which we really enjoyed ( it is a bit of a walk but not too far). Silvia was an excellent host, the room was comfortable and an elevator to bring up luggage was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast was excellent and the croissants and fresh cake were special treats. Silvia made sure she had things prepared by our preference and we were very pleased. There were cereals and milk and yogurt available for my husband and I had eggs and fruit. There were also meats and cheese available. Silvia also gave some good tips on things to do in Palermo and gave us an easy map to follow.

Beautiful presented and designed property. It was our first Italian accommodation on a 3 week trip which had a spacious bathroom and room. It is away from the busy main streets but easy enough to get to them within a 5 minute walk. Our hostesses Silvia was wonderful and very attentive. We left early for day trips and as we couldn’t be there for the complementary breakfast she ensured we had a packet breakfast for our morning of cake, fruits, granola bars, juice and water. They were greatly appreciated on our train journeys. We would definitely stay again when in Palermo!

We loved staying in this beautiful B&B. It is down the street from the famous Opera house and within walking distance to all of the major sites. Sylvia was a fantastic host who gave us suggestions on what to see, where to eat and made a lovely breakfast for us each morning. The room we had was beautiful, comfortable and immaculately clean. The bathroom was a very good size with an excellent shower. There was one day that I desperately needed to iron a few shirts and Sylvia very graciously let me borrow her personal iron and ironing board. It’s little things like this

Beautifully designed decor both the entrance and breakfast areas as well as the bedroom. Very quiet, even though it is located in the centre of town, within 5 mins walk of the Teatro Massimo, 15-20mins walk from the Duomo and many other of the “must see” sights. Silvia was very helpful in arranging a spot at a carpark within 5 mins walk of the property, as well as directions and access. Breakfasts were delicious and Silvia could not be more attentive to our requests. Do not be put off by the exterior to the building; once you open the door to the B&B you will be delighted by your choice of staying there.

Silvia was wonderful and helpful host. Place is cozy and clean. Location was perfect for me - close to all main attractions and just a step away from the theatre. This place is for quite and peaceful staying.

I'm an early bird and would prefer to have breakfast earlier (breakfast is served at 8.30). The croissant was really tasty, but I had a chance to try it only on the last day((( On other days Silvia was leaving homemade cakes and other things for making my own breakfast.

The b&b is in a great location just minutes from the Teatro Massimo and the main streets full of restaurants and bars. It is modern and spotlessly clean with a fantastic shower and comfortable bed. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty - especially the home made jam. As a solo traveller I felt very safe here. Silvia was in constant contact providing security codes and was very accommodating to my late arrival. A fantastic stay and exceptional value for money.

Nothing.

Il Palchetto is a small boutique B&B located in the centre of Palermo - close to the Teatro Massimo. It is comfortable, clean and ideally positioned. Silvia ensured that we enjoyed our time in Palermo - a pick up from the airport was organised and, at check out, we left our luggage at the property until the afternoon. Breakfast is modest but quality. Great coffee too. Highly recommended.

We liked everything

Silvia was so kind, patient and hospitable. Breakfasts were delicious and filling, and we loved her mother's home-made marmalade! She has beautifully decorated the BnB with colour and terrific pictures and photos. Our room, Oliva, was deep blue with a sea theme. The bathroom tiles were gorgeous. Silvia has a real flair for interior design and has created a very cosy, welcoming home-away-from-home with little unexpected touches! Great host and a fantastic location.

• Silvia is the loveliest, most helpful and accomodating host you could ask for! (Thank you so much for everything 💖) • The room was clean and maintained very well throughout my stay. The design of the place was quirky and the attention to detail was *chef's kiss*. • Great location - the BnB is situated next to the Massimo Theatre on a quiet (but safe) side street. It is also located close to the quattro canti crossroads which are full of eatery's and interesting sites. • I felt super safe as a solo female traveller coming and going from the BnB.

• The only thing I would mention (although it isn't a criticism, rather a preference!) is that there were more savory items to choose from at breakfast - although Silvia does offer eggs/cheese/cold meats on the menu for some extra €s. The sweet breakfast items themselves were homemade - beautiful and delicious 🤌🏻

Firstly, but perhaps least important, is the location. This place is fantastically situated, just a stone's throw away from the Teatro Massimo, and right in the heart of the city. The B&B, situated on the 3rd floor of an old building, is tastefully decorated, with great little touches throughout. The place is absolutely spotless and, our host, Silvia was the perfect host! She was eager to tell us about the best spots in the city, mapping out her favourite restaurants and bakeries. Breakfast was homemade and delicious and we even got a little packed breakfast on the last morning as we had an early flight. We couldn't recommend this place enough. This was our first time in Sicily and it definitely won't be our last and we already know exactly where we'll be staying!

Literally the only negative I can think of was that the lift was a bit small and a bit sketchy, but I'm guessing that's probably quite typical for the area.
