Sosta al Capitano is a wonderful refuge set in a small town near Florence. The owners put a lot of love and care in their business. The house is very tastfully decorated (antiques), the rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished, the bathroom is like in a 5-star hotel. The common room is inviting and equisitely decorated. The caringly composed breakfast is served in the garden. The modest swimming pool is great for an afternoon splash after visiting Florence. The price-quality ratio of this accommodation is very good. Bonus: the town of Pontassieve is quite nice in it's own right and the train station with a direct connection to Florence (25 min. ride) is 10 minutes by foot from Sosta al Capitano.

Very spacious and comfortable room with a nice clean bathroom and shower. Cleaning every day, and nice breakfast. Stefano is very accommodating and flexible and even bought me some gluten free cakes when he found out I was sensitive to gluten, even though I didn’t ask him to. I also loved his cute dogs! the garden is very nice and there is a pool if you want to swim, unfortunately I didn’t have time to explore this since I was busy during my stay.

Perfect location for a short hop in to Florence on the train. The rooms are very large, very comfortable and the entire property is beautifully appointed. Breakfast was an absolute joy. Stefano is the perfect host - interested, discreet, helpful and a very interesting person in his own right!

The “captain “ is a very interesting person, with whom it is possible to discuss important issues! On our long journey from Norway to Italy by bicycles, he is the first host who speaks English so well! The room was tastefully furnished, as was also the resting area and the breakfast room! Very nice colors! And the breakfast was very tasty and delicately served! We also enjoyed the peace and quiet in the garden! The house is on the top of a very steep hill, and was a challenge for us with our bikes, but that only added to the benefit for our hearts! Thanks!

Aside from being poisoned with insecticide (I think this must be what gave me a headache) the place was great, and breakfast was good.

The common room stank of an air freshener-like smell that we deduced must have been insecticide because we did notice a few ants in our room.

Accessibility and friendliness of the hosts. A few rules to follow (check-in, breakfast, cleaning hours…) but with a clear and prompt communication everything is manageable.

Hours restrictions. Breakfast before 930 am and having to leave the room by 10 am for cleaning.

Beautifully decorated house, beautiful location, great breakfast and very cool air conditioning, which we enjoyed in the heat. Lovely, powerful shower

House was up a hill which was sometimes tiring but not too much of a problem

Just an allright place to stay for a couple of days. Very covenient location to vist Firenze, whilst the train station is situated on walking distance.

No TV on the room.

The views were lovely also the pool and having the lovely breakfast outside in the garden!!!

Very clean place, very well decorated. The place is located in a nice little town where you have bars, restaurants and shops but also is a great place for day trips (Florence, Bologna, Siena, San Giminiano). The host is very friendly and always has great recommendations.
