This was the third time we stayed at this beautiful hotel, a former large monastery near Siena. This time we added a little money to stay in a large room with a view of the landscape. However, from our previous experience, the budget rooms are also very good value. A very generous and satisfying breakfast is included, not related to what room type you are staying in. The surrounding landscape is great for walking. There is a fantastic winery (“Losi”) 10 minutes by foot away, highly recommended to visit, A further 10 minutes away is the local village where we enjoyed a simple and good lunch. We had two times dinner in the hotel. Very tasty and well-presented both times, and served by such a friendly staff. Good value for the money, although for those traveling an a budget, there is also an option to enjoy a light meal in the bar. We will definitely be back again :-)

The location is beautiful and loaded with history, it feels like leaving in a museum, not much renovation or modernizations seams to be made on the property, this added a lot of charm for dinning and breakfast areas. The gardens are also well maintained and beautiful. I would come back here for dinner or drinks, but not for the hotel.

For the rooms the outdoor charm is not kept, the renovation is made with cheep materials and not much accent is put on the comfort and consistency of the decor. The bed was creaking giving the impression that it would break and mattress was uncomfortable, the room was too big and too little furniture that could actually be used, many of the peace were more as décor as they looked old and fragile.

It is an absolute privilege to stay at this property! It is an old monastry from the 14th century, and you really experience that feeling. The views are magnificant, very reasonable priced large room. We took 30 minutes just to walk around the property and soak up the surroundings. The absolute highlight is the little church inside the property. The interior of this church is more beautiful than most famous chruches in the cities nearby, but without any tourists. Breakfast has a fair selection, but has an amazing view overlooking the garden. I truly recommend this place, not perse for the comfort, but the experience!

The AC isnt located at the best spot (underneath the window on the floor) so for people that are used to steong AC, these rooms might be a little warm. I understand they cannot place the AC elsewhere due to the historical walls and ceiling. It didn't bother me and is worth the tradeoff. Im not a big fan of coffee from a machine (for breakfast) so having fresh made one like in most hotels here would be nicer, but I can understand the operational troubles for that.

The residence locates in an ancient structure and it's absolutely stunning to visit. Big garden area and excellent breakfast. 7km from Siena (so you must have a car to move around). There is even a little church inside! Worths visiting. Room is clean, there is AC, free bottled water and tea. Dogs welcomed and free of charge.

The bed is uncomfortable and I had back pain after sleeping on it. We had a ground floor room and there was only a tiny window and it was quite dark all day long. But I can't complain on this because the structure is too old and it was redecorated afterwards. There was no bidet in the bathroom.

very authentic place, previous monastir. please dont ever spoil it with “euro- polishing” wineyards around, beautiful scenery. restaurant was great and breakfest very decent. houskeeping very exceptional!

walls are very thin. i believe monks didnt have very busy social life but nowadays hearing people snorring or having sex behind the wall might be challenging for good night sleep:) you dont even need to put your alarm clock cuz you can perfectly hear next door neighbors mobile phone vibrating:)

+ A sense of history, staying in an old historic monk's quarters, that is done up so well, it could easily pass off as a chateau + Extremely spacious rooms + Lovely service from all the staff, we checked in late, at 11:30 pm, and the reception stayed open for us, and they kept some food in the restaurant available too! + Great bartender with exceptional knowledge of cocktails + Great breakfast + Lovely chapel + Lovely gardens

- Rooms are a little dated, could use some remodelling - In July, at the peak of summer, it got pretty hot. Windows don't have mesh nets, so can't leave them open, otherwise bees and a million other insects come into the room - so keeping the windows shut, without airconditioning, in July, was suffocating. They did provide fans though.

Loved the location!!!!!! It’s in the middle of “nowhere” but public transport is very good though. You can really feel the Tuscan vibe there and admire all the views. Garden is really stunning and the breakfast was served on a balcony with the view - delicious. All the rooms were clean and good equipped in towels, shower gels etc.

One of the rooms was not cleaned properly, some things as a coffee, tea etc were missing

The general atmosphere. The three room apartment (cella 10) was very spacious with beautiful view and private terrace. Excellent breakfast. Very good dinner. Nice staff (in the morning)

Details are not looked after well. It is a bit TOO authentic: no hooks no shelves, no places where to store towels or clothes. You need to be fit to climb up and down the medieval stairs between room and shower/wc. Shower flooded after 5 minutes.

We loved the property and it’s location.

We arrived at 3pm and the rooms were still not ready for check-in, thus a bit uncomfortable. The check-out is also early- 10 AM. The property is fantastic, but one could see it’s not properly well maintained outside. Although the old style of the building is probably preserved, some cleaning and washing of the inside territory/yard, would not harm. The rooms were clean.

Such a wonderful building in a stunning location. Sitting outside the restaurant in the evening and then in the little bar were both so atmospheric. The setting with the gardens and the chapel made for a lovely location. Breakfast on the terrace on the morning was perfect. It was just beautiful for an October stay.

We loved everything but some travellers may find the rooms a bit plain maybe, not a problem for us at all. We did struggle to find the entrance when we arrived in the dark so maybe some lit signage would help.
