The Hotel Posta was exactly the type of hotel we love: elegant, beautiful, wonderfully located and friendly, all at a great rate. It is the oldest hotel in Italy, set in one of the oldest buildings, beautifully modernized. It is right in the Reggio Emilia center, between the two piazzas -- it couldn't be more convenient in this gorgeous town. This was our first stay when we arrived for our many-city Italian adventure, and what a way to start! The staff is very helpful, and as a hotel (vs. an apartment), they have all the amenities you would want, including a small workout room, and an exceptional breakfast complete with local cheeses and hams, great coffee, eggs and pastries. The dining area is gorgeous. They even provided a complimentary small toiletry item I had forgotten to pack. The cleaning staff were also very very kind for some various needs we had. The room itself was beautiful, with a large bathroom and plenty of storage, plus a safe. Being in the heart of things meant short walks to meals, drinks, or shopping. We plan to return to RE some day, and we will not stay anywhere else. Hotel Posta is simply gorgeous, in the old world hotel way.

We had an amazing room with two balconies, one right on the main square of the town. The room is big (height to the ceiling was almost the same as the width of the room ) and a bed exactly to our liking. Impressive building with loads of history and atmosphere. We hope to come back!

This is not a criticism at all, however arriving by car is not straight forward. The hotel is in an an area with restricted access for cars and using the gps was a bit of a merry go round. It may be a good to take a look at a map for the last 500 meters.

The hotel was charming in a great location. The staff were all attentive and eager to assist. It was an exceptional value for the price. I was also impressed at how well the entire staff spoke English.

They could use a bit more parking. Also, they are very traditional in terms of their room keys that you must surrender when leaving the property.

I liked everything about this hotel. It is situated on the square right in the middle of everything. Staff were very helpful and very friendly - a credit to the hotel Excellent breakfast in a wonderfully decorated room Our bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom of good size We had secure parking in the hotel courtyard which helps Great value for money for a 4 star hotel

Couldn't find fault

Breakfast was quite good. Location also very good although it would be better if there was more information in advance as to how to access the parking. (Once there, the parking service was great!). Rooms were well decorated and bathroom good

The air-conditioning in the rooms was not great. The system was old, and seemed like it needed upgrade or at least to be "re-gassed". admittedly, we were there during a "heatwave"

very difficult to find in a car as centre is pedestrian, limited access and cannot drive directly, needs to follow hotel signs, not take notice of road signs. Breakfast disappointing for a 4 star, and room faced a wall so no view and dark.

Breakfast was nice but more hot food would have been preferable and fresher eggs etc. A lot of food wasn’t available when there but was usually replenished if you waited. Need milk and tea coffee facilities replaced in room.

Good quality hotel in an historic building, bang in the centre of town. Parking is available, but the hotel is challenging to reach with a vehicle, so it may be easier to park nearby (outside the ZTL) and walk in. Room was good. Staff friendly and helpful.

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Reggio Emilia. Locals even say this is the place to stay. Would 100% return here again. Easy access to city center. Easy to arrive to/from hotel by foot, bike, or taxi (a few minutes from central train station or 10 minutes from high speed AC station). Wonderful staff, 5 star service and hospitality. Breakfast was superb.
