we loved the location of this hotel. it has recently been renovated to a high standard during covid!! very comfy beds & pillows!! if you do stay here, your taxi can not drive to the doorway of the hotel. the photo used was taken from the hotel! there’s where you need to look for the doorway.

our only downside was a male receptionist with grey hair! he was abrupt and rude and no help WHATS so ever. all other staff were fabulous. breakfast was ok but I’d probably chose to eat breakfast out if we stayed again. there was plenty of selection of cold food but hot food was just bacon & eggs. there are only 12 rooms here so selection is limited.

super nice hotel ext to the Pantheon

room were EXTREMELY HOT. they didn’t have air conditioning available and we had to keep the windows open and was still hot. had one no sleep and huge headache all the time

The location was unbelievable, directly next to the Pantheon and right in the heart of Rome. The design and layout of the hotel was very interesting in a hip and cool way.

Visiting during a minor heat wave in the summer meant that the air conditioning was simply incapable of returning the room to a comfortable temperature, and it seems like Rome in general (not just this hotel) is not prepared to achieve room temperatures I associate with comfort. While the layout is very cool, the elevator is comically small, and despite being on the third floor, the staircases just kept twisting and climbing in different directions for what felt like an eternity every time I needed to climb up to my room.

I found Antico Albergo del Sole randomly searching for a property when I decided to skip the previously planned Paris trip to Rome due to riots in Paris and traveling with a child. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, the breakfast was amazing, the room modern and spacious and the location cannot be beat. I will definitely return to this hotel, yes it was noisy at night because our window faced the Pantheon and it’s a busy square, but that didn’t bother us at all. The only thing that negatively affected our experience was the shower that didn’t drain, it filled with 1 foot of water about 3 minutes into a shower and it would take an hour to drain down, so the second person taking a shower was basically walking into the first persons dirt. Not good, I asked the reception twice if someone could check that and I think it was ignored. That was a bummer, otherwise it was amazing. Next time I go there I will call in advance to be sure I’m in a room with a shower that drains, otherwise I definitely recommend.

I have stayed before and the remodel was not a good choice. Before it was rustic, charming. Plaster is bad, color and doors. Lost its charm. Bathrooms are good. But carpet throughout the hotel, is awful.

EXcellent location. in front of the Pantheon. Our room was in the annex. would have preferred to stay in the hotel the next time because it is convenient. The staff were very helpful though especially Gabriel who helped us with our bags (transferring from one room to the other) always with a smile. We had issues with the original reservation as it was also a suite in the annex building. The beams were too low and though we are not really tall, we'd find our heads bumping into the beams if we were not always mindful. Very inconvenient. we asked to be transferred to another room. it was much better. The staff was very accommodating and also went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and pleasurable.

Low beams in one of the suites in the annex building. lamp shade on the side where the low beam is so very challenging. bathroom at the far end of the suite. so realistically if i was staying in the bedroom i'd have to pass 2 living rooms to get to the bathroom. most inconvenient.

More than a 4 star hotel. We’ve stayed 5 4-star hotels in our trip to Italy but this place was by far the best. The room was nice, clean and beautiful. They had a hair conditioner in amenities. The location was right in front of pantheon and this means you will have access to most of Roman tourist attractions with in 30 minute walk and plenty of food choices (even though they might be a little pricey since you are in a touristic area). Access was easy by taxi. Taxi stop is next to pantheon, 1 minute walk from hotel. We found coop and carrefour in neighborhood.

Location was wonderful. bed was comfortable. high end shower amenities.

Air conditioning at the room wasn’t working the first night, and the room at the other side of the floor was booked by a loud family that made it hard for us to sleep properly. when asked the lady at the reception to find us a solution for this problem she required us to pay for a room change, we felt that her handling of the situation was poor. Few hours later when we asked a different reception employee if someone checked the problem in the air conditioning, he offered us to switch room to a different floor with no extra charge and both problems was solved. beside the bad feeling we had from that specific employee our stay was wonderful and that’s why we rated it 9 and not 10.

Location, out the front door of hotel you are facing the Pantheon 50m away on same piazza, great location. All hotel staff were very courteous and extremely nice to have conversation with. Taxi service to right of Pantheon, very convenient for taxi’s; Great location for walking around Rome all directions.

Our room was very small for the price we paid; faced a courtyard (no view) but quiet; we were there in mid-March and could not get the room cooled down without leaving the window open, the room just heated up; A/C Split unit did not work (could be time of year and gov’t regulation?) so we kept the window open all the time and still a little warm.
