Nice staff who got my room ready early. Close to several bus lines going to the lagoon. Wasn't even a very long walk just to the central train station. A few small shops and cafes are nearby. Quiet neighborhood. Air conditioning works well, there was a sink in the room which is really nice. The shared bathrooms were never busy and had hot water all the time that was easy to adjust. Lots of storage space in the room, and a desk.

The quiet neighborhood means that there isn't a lot to eat nearby, but a couple of choices. The Wi-Fi was really terrible. Like unusable most of the time. Could use one more pillow in the room, and another outlet, but there is one right by the bed which is handy.

The only hotel in Venice (less than 70EUR), which take "officially" guests begin at 12AM (=if you dislike present accommodation with check-out time 10.-11.AM). After "african-owned" accommodations you rejoice about quite natural little things. You just take a call - and staff WILL ANSWER (no need to Vibers/Whatsapps: SMS-communications)! A cozy green district of 3-storey residential buildings. On the floor tiled stone, spacious room. Openings the wardrobe door - and voilaa: 7 hangers! Although it was a "hotel room", there were refrigerators (not just a "cool closet"). 50m from the tram nr.2 stop (3 stops before hypermarket, where locals buy clothes: "Denim"-brand jeans 10EUR). I was ONLY GUEST in such "paradise"! Maybe the fault is "price-politics": 65EUR/ night +"non-european" owners does not "invite to experiment"? My advice: cut off the superfluous dozen euros!

Convenient for catching the 6L bus to Venice. If you return after 10pm you have to catch the 6 bus which involves a 14 minute walk to the hotel. Room was good size. Has kettle but no cups! Has a room downstairs with vending machine.

We were up 2 flights of stairs with our suitcases but are getting used to it in Europe. No lift. Fan light was noisy.

Great location, bus stop right round the corner that goes straight into Venice. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Perfect for the three nights we stayed.

Room did smell of cleaning products so had to open the window for awhile to let some fresh air in.

The people running the reception were very friendly and helpful. They gave me access to the backyard and a safe parking space for my motor. The hotel was clean and neat. There was a lounge area with TV.

The room did not meet the expectations as shown by booking.com. The hotel was overbooked. It seems to be a purposeful strategy to allow single guests to book if the hotel is full and put them in one of the tiny rooms that they have. The receptionist and his wife were embarrassed because the room is not a guest room but a cubicle for personnel staying overnight, it has no room number and is marked 'private'. It has just enough space for a (single) bed. It should not have been possible to book this room through booking.com. I paid the normal price for a different room!

I stated at Hotel Amba Alagi as a solo female traveller. The location of the hotel is slightly further out of Venice, but only a 15 minute bus journey. Bus no. 6L (less than 2 mins away) and 53E (5min walk away) both take you to Venice, and cost 1.50€ each way. The buses ran roughly every 20 minutes and tickets could be bought from a shop near the 6L bus stop. I flew from Treviso, and there was a tram that easily helped me reach Mestre, so I could catch an airport coach (11€). The decor was slightly dated however my room was clean, and much larger in size than the photos showed! When checking in, and asking for advice the staff were attentive and helpful. I didn't have the breakfast, so can't say whether or not it was good. I spent very little time in my room, so also cannot comment on the WiFi, but I was able to use the Internet easily. All in all I'd absolutely stay again, the hotel was such good value for money - I paid the same as friends who stayed in a hostel and they had the misfortune of having to share with someone who snores!

On check in, it wasn't explained to me that different doors are used for entering and exiting the building at different times of day - embarrassingly thought I'd been locked in on the first day haha. If other guests are loud, in the communal hallways, you can hear them from your room. Not so much of an issue for myself - heavy sleeper, but thought I'd note it down for others.

The manager was very kind and understanding. It's excellent value for money if you are booking a hotel in Venice last minute.

It's a little far to walk from the train station, but walking through that neighbourhood is very nice.

Our room was cleaned every day. There was airco, a ceiling fan, an electric kettle, and a hairdryer. In the shared kitchen there's a microwave and a fridge.

The area isn't pretty but the bus and tram stop is very near.

It was clean, close to bus stop to go to Venice. It was a good deal for the price.

I did not like the room smelling even though the room and bathroom were clean.
