- Great value for money. Buffet breakfast and dinner both offered a great variety of food (both Japanese and western cuisine.) All food refilled in a speedy manner. - Three onsens (I recall there were more when I visited five years ago, some probably under renovation?) The largest one operates till midnight. - Very large hotel. Did not feel crowded at all despite having several tours around when we stayed. - Reception and restaurant staff mostly well trained. Able to communicate with fluent English. We had a minor lighting issue in the room, it was fixed within our dinner time, impressive. - Walkable distance from Aso JR station (~15mins without suitcase); but if possible, driving would be a much better way to visit the area. - Complimentary toilet amentities available at the lobby. - I thought I pressed the elevator button but apparently didn't, stood there for five seconds without noticing. A staff who walked passed was very attentive, she pressed the button for me immediately. Great service. - Really nice view from the room (north wing) - Can tell that the hotel is relatively old, but still well maintained and cleaned. Several renovations done, air-con was comfortable. Pillows, beds and tatami (futon beds) all pretty nice. Multiple toilets everywhere in the hotel. - Convenient store opposite the hotel and souvenir shop within the premise. - Lots of free parking spots.

- Probably a norm in Japan, but as foreigners I don't particularly appreciate the practice of having female staff entering the male onsen all the time for cleaning, especially when there are male staff available. - No complimentary bottled water and no water machine available in the hotel (you are not allowed to use the one in the onsen area to fill your water bottle.) They probably expect guests to drink from the tap, which some people may be hesitant about. - 70mins for dinner buffet is a bit too short, would be better if it can be 90mins. No time limit for breakfast buffet.

Everything. From the moment you walk in, the staff is very attentive and cheerful. Everyone smiles. I forgot that I booked dinner too so It was nice surprise for me. Dinner was interesting, you have 70min to dine in and this is due to free flowing alcohol. Just wow. Havnt seen that in any Japanese hotels before! It was bonus for sure! Food was good. Didn't use the onsen but they have 3 of them. Many different facilities and only 4min away driving from the station (I took a taxi $6). The best was the view!! My room was facing opposite way from Mt Aso and I actually preferred it coz it was not only stunning but also you can watch sunset and train passing by from this side which was a highlight for me. Room was very spacious and the Tanami area was great. Love it a lot

-Private onsen -Had a great time at the pool (if you do not book directly with the hotel, you need to pay 750 yen each, but definitely worth it). Went at night and had the whole pool to ourselves. Several different jet pools and a massive sauna with a tv inside! -Beautiful views of the national park outside our window -Huge room with western style beds and a lovely area with tatami mats

incredibly kind staff, very baby/kid-friendly, substantial mix of various onsens and pools, free laundry if you bring your own soap, very good food with ample choice in the restaurant both for breakfast and dinner

The property is clearly dated and lives off one day tours, which means there is a high-turnover, considering that Stress the front desk and restaurant staff are under each day, this is a well oiled machine!

I feel a bit concern of resort quality by reading review from many sources. But it is over my expectation, resort is great with super value price. Resort is big with many facilities: hot springs, pool, restaurant, shop with great scenic of Aso mountain. Room is also great with restroom and bath inside (yes many hotel or ryokan have no bath include if they have onsen in public but with this hotel u have option for clean urself)

Resort is big. You can feel a bit tired to walk from lobby if ur room is deepest part of the resort. Only heater mode for air conditioner, no cool mode.

A very large hotel & Spa. Room was spacious, beds comfortable. A/C quiet. Lovely deep bath with good hot shower. Room cleaned daily with clean towels. Spa was nice, as was pool. Location a 15 min walk to station. Quiet area. Nice view of mountains. Staff very polite, but impersonal. Nice that there were jackets, kimonos and slippers provided, handy for the spa and pool.

A little too impersonal

The breakfast had a good selection of food and drinks. The dining area was spacious. The spa pools were well-maintained, and the towels and toiletries were adequate.

There was no shuttle service to the Aso train station. A shuttle service to and from the station every 30 minutes or 1 hour would be good.

We loved the location and views from our room. The pool was so fun and perfect for families. We had the breakfast too which was also really nice. The onsen was really nice.

I don't think there was anything we didn't like. It was a bit busy, but we were traveling during summer vacation.

We really liked the view from the room, breakfast and onsen facility. This is not the newest hotel, but still is a great option in Aso. It is a bit distant from the railway station, so better take a taxi or use the shuttle transportation provided by the hotel.

Almost everything : - the bedroom was awesome, very clean, very spacious. - the staff was welcoming, kind and at our service - the onsen was very clean and the rotenburo very beautiful - 5min by walk from Cuddly Dominion - the combini just 5min away - the buffet was OK
