Great place to stay for leisure and for a short stay around Yamanakako. The place is fairly far from public transport (~20min of walk) so ideally a car would be desirable to access the place

Everything was incredibly perfect and clean. The room was ultra comfortable and spacious. We met Mr. Tomoki who did his best to offer the outmost! It was our first day-night in Japan and we’ll never forget the hospitality, cleanlinesses, the amenities and the way that they treated us! We definitely recommend to take a bath downstairs!

The whole hotel was a bit cold but not that much in order to feel unpleasant!

What makes this place special is that it is not a hotel - it is an inn, with a family feel, as if you belong there. Our first impression was that we would have preferred our own shower in the room, but on using the amazing bathrooms downstairs (which you can share or book a time), they have onsen/hot spa, with a view. We had an amazing time riding the free bikes around the lake with uninterrupted views of Mt Fuji, walks, sat in the lounge and read/watched a movie on the big screen, sat on the deck and had a local craft beer, played table tennis. The owner/manager is amazingly helpful and pleasant. While some of our other stays in Japan were in 'smarter' looking rooms, they did not have the welcoming family feel of Ryosha Tsukiakari. We would definitely stay there again (for longer and do more walks/rides).

This is not really a negative, and turned out to be more of a positive attribute...the property is about a ten minute ride/walk from the lakeside cafes etc, but then that is why it is so quiet and so beautiful among the forest. The lakeside is handy, sure, but busier. We enjoyed the rides to the lake on the free bikes, and in fact discovered some lanes to ride through to avoid the road, which was nice.

The landlord - i assume - were so nice and flexible for us as we were under the difficulties of getting on the bus to the lake Yamanakako prior to the closing check-in time. So i did make a call to notice him in advance. And he were okay to allow us check-in late night also noting is to grab something before arrival in case we haven't had anything yet.

I think the location is challenging for the first time visit. It's not an easily accessible honestly, however the landlord happily assist in calling for local taxi for the guest

The owner was very friendly and nice to chat to. And the coffee that he roasted is very delicious. Anyone who like a good ol' cuppa of coffee in the morning do give it a try! The place is very near Mt Fuji as well and depending on rooms you might be greeted by Mt fuji the first thing in the morning. Very nice place if you just want to be surrounded by nature and quietness.

Nil. It was fantastic. But one thing to take note is that the place of stay is rather far from the main road so driving would be recommended

We arrived in the evening and hence didn't manage to enjoy the day time. From the exterior, it looks like a very cosy home. And from the moment I walked in, I feel the warmth of the furnace which was truly welcoming. There are two bath area where one operates from 5pm to 10pm (which you need to book in advanced and it will be solely dedicated to you and the other operates 24 hours a day and you are allowed to lock the room so that you don't have to share with other occupants unlike other hotels / accommodation in Japan. So to save time, both me and my husband were able to use the bathroom at the same time. The TV room has an awesome projector on the ceiling with Disney+, Netflix, YouTube etc. However you will need to book it in advanced for a 2 hours window. It has a coin-operated washing machine and dryer if you need to wash your clothes. Our room is the bedded type and it is bigger than those in Tokyo and it has a toilet and sink in the room. It was so warm and cosy and I wish I can stay in bed longer. The breakfast was a simple, salad, a cut of persimmons, sandwich and some spagetti and you have a choice to select 1 hot drink. Thank you to the staff at Ryosha Tsukiakari.

For person who is not familiar with Japan, there should be an explaination on what it meant by 'a shared bathroom.' In other parts of the world when Bathrooms are shared, it meant that the facilities are placed outside and the shower area will be in cubicles. However in Japan, the shower heads and the bath tub are in a same room for everyone to shared.

Everything was wonderful. Properly were surrounded by beautiful black pines and Mt Fuji was visible from my room. The owner Tomoki was an excellent host. He drove more than half an hour to go get me at the far away bus station and at Mt. Fuji station because the bus stopped service. He even gave me a very good quality umbrella after taking me to bus stop. He also arranged all the transactions necessary for me to arrive at Kusatsu safely on time. Hope that my health will permit me to come back and stay longer Domo Aligato Tomoki Shan.

Only regret for not staying longer

Lovely proprietor. Traditional room. Breakfast in the morning with excellent lattes. There are 6 rooms (i believe) 2 shared baths which can be locked for a private or family use of the soaking bath. The proprietor was very helpful reserving a taxi (¥1460) that picked us up at the Ryokan and took us to the bus stop that got us to Mishima. He reserved the bus for us as well and even reserved our seats. It is a bit out of the way. We had lovely walls to the local public bath which has a spectacular view of Mt Fuji.

Be prepared to walk 12-15 minutes to the bus stop.

There were only 1 man staff, but he was everywhere and extremely helpful with everything, bookings, finding the way and serving food, looking after the Cafe in the afternoon. The common baths were new to us - but it was clean and quite an experience. It was very nice to sit on the veranda with the drinks/coffee in the evening - weather was good There is a washing machine and dryer/tumbler available for 100/200Yen.

Not much actually, wifi fell out when using FaceTime - Using WhatsApp was much better. Breakfast is quite plain, but more than you can eat - so bring the sandwiches with you on your sightseeing in the area

Fantastic place, it really gives you the feeling of being at home. The cafe serves the best coffee we tried in Japan, there is a large room for kids to play and a living room to watch movie on a big screen. There is also a washer and a drier that is super helpful. The Japanese style bath is very relaxing after a day outside. Our room was very large and comfortable. The owner is super friendly and hospitable, we definitely recommend this place! The lake is about 10 minutes walk on a very pleasant road.
