Great hotel. In a quiet part of Fukuoka, far from busy street car traffic but lots of folks walking on the street. Fantastic restaurants right out the door. Rooms were of adequate size, nice bathrooms with showers and a bath. Everything is very "hip", so mostly a younger crowd. Mostly Japanese and other Asians staying there but a number of caucasian tourists from various parts. Very nice staff, especially one young lad name Tetsujippo who went out of his way to help us with visiting key shrines.

Breakfasts were a choice of various made-on-premise croissant sandwiches, salads and coffee. Downside: one is charged for the second round of coffee. Also, if one is watching calories .. then a croisssant is not the way to start the day There is a clothes-washing machine area, and an ice maker with buckets. One is also close to a bus stop that takes one to the Hakata station. Try to visit the Dazaifu shrine and the adjacent Kyushu National Museum. Also, the taxi fare to the airport is quite reasonable, beats schlepping your gear on public transportation,

This is one of the best Hotels I have stayed in in Japan so far! The employees are so friendly and warm and I like that they are more casual than in most hotels. They always gave me a warm greeting when i came back (the nicest one was the girl with glasses). It really felt like coming home. The room was exceptionally clean und cozy. It was very central and although Tenjin is a party district it was quite silent in the room (i had a front facing balcony). I really want to come back soon. P.s. Fun-Fact: My Airline forgot my luggage in Taipei and the Woman working at the Lost and Found at Fukuoka Airport also told me she loves this hotel :D

The only thing i didnt like is, that the fridge wasnt really cold (maybe like 10°C). Also a little detail: remove the dust from the Air-Condition vents :))

The location is excellent, it's in a trendy area and near to a bunch of subway stations. Loved the breakfast (you get a choice of filled croissant, salad and a cuppa), sitting with a book and a cuppa is a great way to start the day. Room was very comfy and had everything that you need - bath, shower, Japanese style toilet. The cafe is great - I always managed to find a seat and lots of the tables have power. They also sell a nice local beer.

The only thing that was frustrating (and this is minor) was that around 10am (check-out time) the single lift was incredibly busy. As I was trying to leave, I ended up pressing the button maybe 4 times and the lift was full each time so couldn't get on - in the end I gave up and found my way down using the emergency exit. Would recommend checking out early!

1.Location is really good. Akasaka subway station, a bus terminal and Tenjin subway station is near the hotel. It was really convenient for us. We enjoyed walking around the city with sightseeing. We enjoyed all kinds of vehicles: subways lots of time, a bus(to another city), train, retro-style Nomori train, taxi, airplanes and on foot. 2.When we had to leave early in the mornings(6:00am-7:00am) for two days, we could get take-out breakfast(pre-ordered last night). Thanks! 3. Clean and kind! 4. I enjoyed the library style place on the first floor every night.

Very small for big suitcases.

The rooms were beautiful and the bath/shower room was larger than any other place I'd stayed at while in Japan. The laundry machine washes AND dries in the same machine so you don't need to keep checking on it. You also set a pin code on your laundry so that no one can steal it or pull it out before it's done. It was nice that there were always people in the lounge 24/7 so I was never coming back to a desolate place. Never heard others in the rooms beside me, but did hear a bit of noise from drunk people in the street. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

It was a little far from the train station and the sidewalks around it were so crowded with tourists that it was hard to maneuver with my suitcase. Also there was not much space in the room itself to open my suitcase up. Overall though a great stay.

I stayed with my friend for four nights and it was a great experience! Hotel personnel spoke English and the check in/out procedure was quick and easy. The hotel itself is cozy and stylish, creates a feeling of living in an authentic place, rooms are clean and well designed, so I had enough space and shelves to put my stuff on. The hotel has a nice coffee shop on the first floor where you can have a tasty croissant! I definitely recommend this hotel to those who love cozy atmosphere!

None, it’s a good hotel for its price.

If you really want to experience life of a local Fukuokan come stay at Lamp Light Books Hotel. It is situated in a colourful downtown Damiyo area just 10 minutes walk from Tenjin the heart of Fukuoka.

The air conditioning could dry you while asleep. All you need is to turn it off though.

everything is simple but comfortable enough, the location was great, although it’s not next to any stations but was right in the heart of actions, which I actually preferred (as Fukuoka airport is v close to the city so it’s totally OK to stay a bit away from stations) and the cafe opens 24hours for guests is really a comforting policy for tiring travellers like me to grab a late night coffee / drinks etc.

was staying in the double bedroom meant for 2 people, the room is comfortable and clean and have everything I needed, but it lacks the doorway space to take off the shoes etc which often presents in a Japanese hotel room, meaning you step right into the bedding area when entered, and given the room size is already quite generous compared to other city centre hotels Japan, it’s a pity that the layout doesn’t allow extra space for opening big luggage. I didn’t have any issue as I was travelling alone, but if not so I would definitely book a bigger room (eg room for 4) to make sure there is enough space for 2 luggages.

Really liked this hotel. The room size is small but adequate and it’s very practical and functional with shelf space to put your things. Loved the shower set up and sink area. I would say the bathroom is maybe the best part, great water pressure and bathtub/shower set up with plenty of space. Also really enjoyed the lounge area and work space on 1st floor. Very cool vibe. They also let you use the lounge area on the checkout day until 3pm if your flight is later in the evening.

Had some noise issues from an adjacent business nearby and I asked to switch to a different room. The guy working front desk night shift helped me switch to a different room which was much quieter. He handed it very well. Much appreciated. No other issues.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Walkable to the beautiful Ohori Park - either for a run or walk around. There are plenty of restaurants in the immediate area and it is only 20 or so minutes stroll to famous food stalls on the island. Staff were all lovely and helpful. The room was compact but really well designed so it worked perfectly and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom has a good shower and bath and there are plentiful toiletries of a high standard. The coffee shop on the ground floor is a nice place to chill with a cup.
