I loved the modern, clean and friendly facilities. The location is great but still a bit of distance from the nearest subway station, which gets a bit tiring to do several times a day, every day, especially if always on foot.
The room was smaller than we expected, we were two people in two separate beds, not enough room to walk between the beds and around, and not enough to put our bags and belongings. Not a complaint, we know it's precious real estate, but just to have clear expectations.

Check in was super easy! The room was small, but the storage solutions were very nice and thoughtful. There was space underneath the bed for bags, and places to hang things up. The common spaces had a kitchen, though we didn’t use it, and laundry which you have to pay for. All in all, for a small space, it felt very liveable and very clean! The location was also great, walking distance to a lot of restaurants and public transportation. The front desk staff were also very nice, and helped us store our luggage after we checked out for a couple of hours.
nothing!

The hotel was basically the same as many other hotels that I have stayed at in Japan. In other words, the room/entire hotel is extremely clean, the bed is quite comfortable, everything works, the staff is friendly, the location is great, and I had a pleasant stay. Check-in was also fast and easy. I would definitely stay there again, as long as the price is right.
We couldn't connect to the WiFi in the room at first, but after we called the front desk they resolved the issue immediately, so that was actually not an issue. Perhaps the one problem is that the light in the short entranceway to the (bed)room works on a motion sensor, so you cannot turn it (on or) off as you please. It does go off after maybe a minute or so, but it's a tiny bit annoying that it turns on automatically at night if you need to use the toilet, for example.

Overall clean and easy experience with great room layout, comfortable beds, and easy to use TV. The bathroom layout was western with no bath, but the shower was great, roomy and was exactly what I personally preferred. Also a plus that the laundry machines are new, easy to use and dry automatically.
There wasn't a fridge even in the slightly larger twin room, which was fine since they had fridges in the lobby, but for keeping a beer or some water it would've been really nice not having to leave the room. There also wasn't a kettle but when I asked where to boil water they simply put a kettle in my room and let me have it for the rest of the stay. So that was great.

- Great location, quite close to the main shinkansen station too - Rooms of a decent size and are being cleaned thoroughly every day - Blackout curtains are a huge plus - Mattresses and pillows are extremely comfortable and along with the bed linen make you feel like you're at a 5 star hotel - Nice view from the balcony - Communal space has a bit of a hostel vibe and looks fun if you're up to making some new friends or connections (unfortunately, we didn't travel for a fun reason so we're rather avoiding the common areas) - Stuff speaks fluent English
- Would've been nice if there were some shelves for kits and personal amenities in the bathroom (literally no space to keep all this other than on the floor) - In room kettle was absent and really missed

Great trendy hotel! It was a relatively small room, but normal sized for Japan standards. However, because the layout was done smartly and was clearly curated with a designer, it was a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely opt to stay at Lyf again over other hotels with similar-sized rooms. The common areas were lively and convenient. Also, the hotel is in short walking distance to many cute restaurants, cafes, and bars. It was very new and the bed was comfortable.
The staff were not very informed on the local area. We asked a couple of them for food recommendations in the area and neither of them had any clue and told us it would be best to use Google.

I loved everything about this hotel. The location was great. The communal areas are really funky and functional. The rooms are great. The bed is really comfortable and the shower is fabulous. The staff are lovely. The other guests were all polite, respectful, and quiet.
Only very, very minor criticisms as the hotel was FANTASTIC - I wish there was a small fridge in the room as I don't really want to store my bottled water in a communal fridge. There are only pastries and yoghurt for breakfast. It would be great if there was bread. We ended up buying our own as I don't want to eat 2 big pastries every day. I wish there was a way to turn off the automatic light in the room near the door, rather than waiting 5 minutes for it to turn off.

I was not expecting this hotel to be as good as it was. It was very aesthetic, with a great staff. They were always very helpful and spoke English better than many other places we visited, which was very helpful to us. The small, but very well appointed and comfortable room was great. I canceled a double room at another hotel and for the same rate, got 2 'single' rooms at Lyf for me and college age son. This was much more comfortable for us. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms are quiet, which is key for me when I travel.
Not much. The lobby not being well air-conditioned could have been better, but the rooms were well air-conditioned so I wouldn't say that was enough to discourage anyone's stay.

It is very clean and provide many facilities such as kitchen and washing machines. The location was very comfortable too.
We arrived at the hotel around 10:30 and asked for an early check in, as the check in time was 14:00 and we were really tired. The price for this was around 3000 yen plus the tax for tourism 200 yen per night per person. I feel that in comparison with the price for the whole night the price for early check in was too much but okay. We went to our room and although from the photos we saw from our booking it supposed to have nice view, we had view to a garage. We were really tired so we didnt say anything.

Beautiful and really cool place to stay. Think super modern boutique hostel. Easy to find, right above a lovely wine bar in a nice building. The rooms were gorgeously fitted out and I really enjoyed being there. I loved the laundry room where you could do a wash and dry for only 600 YEN and put a PIN code on the machine so no one could tamper with your washing once it was done!
In the rooms (on the TVs) it says that breakfast runs from 7am - 11am. I went down for breakfast at 1030 and was told that breakfast had finished at 10am, which was frustrating. There is also an automatic light on the bedroom ceiling that takes over 5 minutes to turn off - so if you wake up in the night to use the bathroom quickly, you’ve then got to wait what feels like an age for the light to turn off and get dark again!
