The staff were very helpful. I booked one night but ended up extending my stay because the location is so convenient and facilities and staff are wonderful. One of the nights I booked a smoking room accidentally, and after a few minutes in the room I realized I could not stay there (I quit smoking a year ago), and the staff was kind enough to change my room without extra charge or hustle. Breakfast is a bit pricy though, but there are excellent options at the Gifu station right about 3 to 5 minute walk away.

I’ve stayed in a few hotels so far on this trip and this was definitely my favourite so far. The room was bright, spacious, well equipped and felt very relaxed and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower great. There was coffee and tea in the room, so no having to go down to reception/an amenities bar to get some, when you’re tired after a long journey and in need of a cuppa. View from my window was fab - you could see Gifu Castle way in the distance on top of the mountain. The staff were lovely - very friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Breakfast was great, with a wide variety of food, and a spacious, comfortable dining area. The restaurant staff too went out of their way to be helpful. Location is excellent - just a 5 minute or so walk to Gifu Station, and it’s a really interesting area to explore. Lots of restaurants and izakayas nearby (but it wasn’t noisy near the hotel).

Can’t fault it. I’d definitely stay here again if I can come back to Japan.

The hotel is a short walk from the station. The staff were very helpful and used their phones to translate information for us when required. They called a restaurant on our behalf to investigate options for our dietary requirements. Our rooms were a good size for two adults. PJs are provided. Additional toiletries are available in the lobby. There is a coin laundry just around the corner. They stored our luggage for us while we travelled to another town for an overnight stay.

The bathroom sink was cracked though it did not really bother us.

Very friendly staff. Great value for money and for the price the room was very good and clean. Our room had a great view of the castle perched on the mountain a few miles away. A bag of new towels, toiletries and tea and coffee was on our door the second day. Good location close to many restaurants. The station is very close by too - maybe 5 mins walk. Parking is in the car park next to the hotel which seemed very safe and easy to use to walk to the hotel.

We were quite tired when we got there and found the parking costs a little confusing. Separate charge for overnight and day time.

There are convenient stores and restaurants around the hotel but walking to touristic destinations such as Gifu castle is far with young children. There are plenty of public parking around the hotel but the one partnering with the hotel is the multi-storey (Kuniroku Parking Lot) next to the hotel which you could use for a flat fee until hotel check-out time. The parking lot is secured, has a lift and is under covered.

Super comfortable bed in spotlessly clean room and friendly staff. Breakfast was absolutely sensational. Huge range of both Japanese and Western options, all of them delicious! Excellent value for 1500 yen. There's not much going on in Gifu, but we discovered a great eatery strip just a couple of streets away, which offered a welcome splash of colour and life. Highly recommend the chicken yakitori place! If we were staying longer in Gifu, we would have taken advantage of the hotel's bicycle hire option.

The hotel itself was very comfortable and conveniently located to the train station, however Gifu itself was a bit of a ghost town, at least on the days we were there (a Sunday and a Monday). Quite a trek to the historical part of town (also a ghost town during our visit) through not particularly interesting streets. The ropeway to the town's premier tourist attraction, Gifu Castle, looks promising though, unfortunately, thunderstorms struck just as we were ready to board.

Hotel Resol is just a few minutes walk from the Meitetsu line and the JR Gifu station. Many restaurants nearby and convenient store is close as well, if you decide not to enjoy the wonderful breakfast selection. And the rooms are spacious! Also the staff let me use an umbrella to walk to the convenient store.

I wish there was laundromat available at the property.

Hotel is in a strategic position to travel around Gifu prefecture. It is near the bus station and the train station. A little bit far from city center but easy to be reached by bus. In 3 minutes by walk you can find a long street full of typical restaurants and street food vendors. Room is clean, a Lil bit classic but functional. Staff is always kind and gentle. Breakfast is so rich and so good.

Hotel Resol had a very vintage feel. The staff at check-in were kind, competent and helpful. My Japanese was not very good so I asked if we could communicate in English. They answered all our questions. Our room was spotless! When we booked the hotel, we indicated for the breakfast option. So glad we did because we loved that they served a good array of breakfast foods at the buffet ( with pretty decent coffee, I think). Breakfast was served from around 6:30 am to 9:30 am. It's nice to get there a little early. As for pandemic safety guidelines, the banquet room had well spaced tables with the usual perspex screens, gloves by the plates and trays and the staff were wiping down after each guest finished their breakfast. The water pressure was decent as well! Being in the 7th floor, we thought it might be a bit weak and we'll just manage. But it was nice to have a shower with good water pressure! The location was very convenient! From Gifu station it takes about 10 minutes to get there. You can see the hotel from the station. It's very well situated.

Things that could have been better were perhaps things that may not be so easily changed or upgraded (eg.: the old carpet, the somewhat furniture). It's a nice enough hotel to stay at for a short time, but if we were staying in Gifu longer than one night we may have chosen a more modern hotel.

I particularly like the location. Although it is only less than 5 minutes away from the Gifu Station, it is located in a quiet area. In other directions, many eateries and izakaya can be found. The staff are all polite and friendly. The room is clean and has everything I need.
