The room was a good size with a lovely view of the beach. We could see the sunset in the evenings from our balcony which was lovely. The staff were very friendly. The beach was conveniently located , clean and quiet. Breakfast was superb! We had the Japanese breakfast which included soup , rice , grilled fish , salad , pineapple , egg , tofu , yoghurt , coffee and juice. It was healthy, fresh and filling. We hired a car from the airport and there was free parking at the hotel and you can drive easily to the main sights on the island from here.

We loved our stay here and highly recommend. We had the traditional Japanese room, which was spacious, well equipped and clean. The location is great and right next to a private and beautiful beach. If you are looking for a relaxing time in Ishigaki yet not far from many sights, this is the place stay. Your stay will be more comfortable if you have a car or other means of transportation to get around the area. The staff deserves all the praise from other reviews, they are incredibly welcoming and helpful with everything and made our stay perfect.

The location is great if you are looking for a quiet corner of paradise. Huge beach where we were always by ourselves (slightly offseason in late March). The breakfast which is included can be either typical japanese ou western. Both were delicious and generous. For other meals, the hotel restaurant is also great. You can order shabu-shabu for 2 if you reserve the day before. Delicious, but come with a full appetite. It’s a big meal! All the hotel and restaurant staff are really extremely kind, helpful and welcoming. A car is necessary here as in most areas on the island if you want to get around. Free parking is accessible at the hotel. Access to a small private onsen with a wonderful view of the sunset. We regreted not planing a longer stay.

The staff are absolutely wonderful, kind, and helpful. They helped us book a last minute superb snorkeling trip when we first arrived and were always so friendly in the cafe/restaurant, they really treated us amazingly. Aside from the staff, the hotel itself was clean, the room was spacious, and the view was lovely (we had a corner room so had views of the mountains and the sea). The hotel backs onto a nice, quiet beach. The breakfast was pretty good; you can choose between a western or Japanese breakfast and what time you would like to eat each day (7am-8.30am). It was a bit different each day but generally included a couple of types of bread, a bit of omelette, soup, some yoghurt, fruit, etc. We ate at the restaurant each of the three nights we stayed there and once for lunch, and the food was great on each occasion and the prices are reasonable. When it comes to location, it really depends what you are looking for. Being next to a beach is nice but there is very little around. We were umming and ahing about renting a car and decided not to, which was fine for a couple of days as the snorkeling/diving trips we arranged included transport. After the diving trip we got dropped off in downtown Ishigaki and decided to get the bus back, which took around 1 hour 15 mins and wasn't particularly cheap (1,000 yen per person). Buses are also quite infrequent, so you are limited regarding flexibility. On our final day before leaving for the airport in the afternoon, the weather was a bit rubbish and rainy and we had nothing planned. This was when not having a car bit us, as the beach wasn't very appealing and there was nothing nearby to do. Of course, the staff were happy to accommodate us in the restaurant - but it did feel like we were just trying to pass the hours. Had the weather not been nice on the previous days, we might have been a bit screwed without a car, so it's something to consider.

Only the location if you don't have a car and the weather is bad.

The hotel is located 50 meters from a beautiful beach in a remote area, making the sunsets incredible. Our room was spacious and well equipped with a view on the green mountains and partly the ocean. It was also possible to book a timeslot for the private Onsen, which had a balcony with ocean view included. Especially the staff was kindhearted and supportive, making our stay exceptionally pleasant!

The people you meet, if in the restaurant (with the best burgers and a cold coke at any time) or the reception, are the highlight of this accomodation! We got a warm welcome and an even warmer goodbye that made leaving not that easy. The Pool right before the house and the beach right in front of the house were used every day just like the restaurant. To put it in a nutshell this was a lucky strike which we can highly recommend for everyone who enjoys a cozy accomodation that offers a great stay at Ishigaki 💓

Nothing to complain.

I chose the property so we’d have a quiet place to relax and for a private beach. We always had the beach to ourselves. Water was shallow and so clear. The staff were polite and very helpful with many things, cutting fruit we bought at the market, reserving dinner for us because we couldn’t access online reservations, and the food at KupuKupu cafe was super.

No complaints except the last night the guests below us complained we walked too loud above them and this bothered my elderly mother very much.

This was a pretty and comfortable hotel, with a kind and helpful staff, next to a gorgeous and deserted beach. The price was right, and the location was perfect for a relaxing three-day trip exploring the island (with a rental car, necessary).

The wifi was extremely spotty (which we knew from reviews ahead of time and planned for, but be aware if that's something you need). The pool was unexpectedly out of commission for painting the entire time we were there--which was fine, but it would have been nice if the hotel had alerted us ahead of time.

We loved the location of this hotel, because we really felt like we were in the middle of nature with our forest view room. We used the private onsen both at night and in the morning and it was the best feeling! Even though it rained during our stay we had a wonderful time. And the option of renting some movies had a fun nostalgic factor.

The restaurant is closed on Mondays which didn't bother us too much but it would have been nice if the bar was open, and if we could enjoy the restaurant space and some snacks even if no dishes were served. We would have also appreciated it if the garden could be lit up to give a nice feeling, even if the restaurant is closed.

Hotel is located at the west side of Ishigaki island, near the mountain and a beach. Friendly staff that helped to make our stay a pleasant one. Room was spacious and clean. I like the quietness and the fresh air around this area. Hotel is just behind a beach and I can imagine how much fun it is in the summer. The cafe also selling delicious food too.

No notice board at the main road to indicate the hotel location.
