Super clean, super spacious & comfy lounge. I booked different hostels in hopes of finding the right hostel, and this was just the one I was looking for. Wide and Fully air-conditioned lounge with plenty of chairs, tables, and sofas to indulge in your book or open up a chat with the other guests. Also, they have a strict rule of making sure the lounge is not noisy after 11, which makes it all the more better because you ate guaranteed to get a good night’s sleep -you’ll need it to get around Ishigaki. Definitely coming back to this hostel when I visit Ishigaki again.

Nothing!! They even provide not one, but two new towels everyday!! What can I say more?

The rooms are good size with 4 beds in the room only. All located next to dorr though. The beds are comfy but like all Japanese a bit hard. Pillow hard too. The common place has a good kichen with all the utensilsyou need,, free comfy and green tea to use any time. The kitchen in kind of in the smame place as doorms, so can be noisy. I asked to be moved upstairs. The comon space is full of flowers and very pleasnt to be.

The staff doesnt let you chose the beds. Even though they were free.

Quite liked this place, the communal area is open and bright, kitchen is stocked (spices and oil avalable, ask staff, no problem) stayed in a dorm, not capsule style. Nice staff, friendly, Okinawa style. During my stay there were mostly locals and hanging out was nice and made the experience cozy and friendly. Ishigaki is an awesome island, and this is a good base to explore it from. Close to the "downtown" area on foot, 8min walk, 16 min walk to the closest big supermarket. First bus stop 3 min walk.

This is the perfect place to stay if you need/want to stay in Ishigaki city while on the island. It’s clean, ist bright, the people are friendly and it’s over all a nice vibe. The staff is super helpful and the public areas are also super cool. The location is also good. You are close to the downtown area and the ferry to the other islands. There are restaurants and everything arround.

- the mattress is very thin and you could feel the wood below. A bigger mattress would be appropriate for the futon style beds.

- Sanpin tea was offered for free! It was really hot in Ishigaki during my stays, so I appreciate it! - Other nice guests! I naturally had a chance to talk with them in the common space. - Nice kitchen, living room with local decorations. - Friendly staff. All of them were approachable during their business time. - The showers and toilets were clean.

- Room slippers were optional, but it was better to be provided since outdoor shoes were allowed inside. - Bath towels were also optional, but it would be more helpful to be provided.

I was very happy to stay at SunTerrace Ishigaki, primarily because of the relaxing vibe of the place. It's pretty nicely decorated, quiet at night (well, most of the time, actually), and within walking distance of the center of town. The showers and toilets are clean and the showers are stocked with body soap and shampoo. The hostel provides small towels if you need one. There is a good, pretty big common space on the ground floor and a smaller but equally nice common space upstairs. Other pluses include: free coffee and sanpin-cha; wifi works great in the rooms; kitchen where you can cook; refrigerator; no curfew; easy check out (just leave your key at the front desk); small outdoor seating area in front; parking spaces; scooter rentals (although I used a different place for that). I really enjoyed staying there and would definitely stay there again!

For the price you pay, it really would have been great to have gotten a free breakfast, even if that was just toast and fruit (or something else relatively basic). We had a room with only one bed and two futons, so we slept on the futons. The one bed was the upper bunk of what looks to be a bunk-bed but without a lower bunk. Why? Also, the room was too expensive. It easily could have been ¥1000-2000 cheaper. Furthermore, there is soft music playing during the day, but it was even on very early in the morning for no reason. If you are a light sleeper, that music might wake you up. Why not wait until, say, 9 am to start playing it? Finally, the bathroom/shower lights seem to always be on, which is a big waste of electricity. They should do something about that (motion sensors?).

The location is perfect, 5 mins to the town center and less than 10mins to the ferry terminal. Perfectly clean throughout the whole hostel and helpful, friendly staff to assist with any questions you may have. This was my second stay here and I’ll definitely stay again next time I’m in Ishigaki.

Very modern and fresh. Super comfy beds.. Staff were super helpful. Showers were good. AC in room. Twin rooms were big and well equipped with sofa and TV etc. Very cheap hure car available. Think they had a gopro you could use as well.
