The hotel is right on the river side, we got a room with a view to the forest and the river. The room itself was very spacious, traditional Japanese style with tatami flooring. Felt very authentic and made you feel close to the nature. The staff was wonderful. The reception was very welcoming, lending us umbrellas when it was raining. Another thing that left a big impression was the food and the kitchen staff. We got both dinner and breakfast and were surprised by how kind and engaging the servers were, not to mention the food was incredible. The only regret was not staying here longer.

The staff was amazing. So accommodating and professional. Even as English speakers in a rural area we were made to feel honored and respected. The food was Japanese for sure, not a bacon and eggs place. But the quality was first rate. Every meal delicious and varied, fish, beef, pork, veggies all in a beautiful style. The hot springs were superb and the traditional Japanese tatami mat room with a view of the mountains and sound of the river was over the top. I’d go back in a flash. A relaxing place surrounded by nature and walks to temples and shrines with amazing local craft stores. Beautiful

The views from our room and from the dining room were lovely...a verdant hillside. We could hear the river running at night. The room was spacious and comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The baths were clean and full of amenities like complimentary razors, hairbrush, combs, toothbrushes, etc. The yukatas were comfortable, and there was a free shuttle to and from the train station. Food was plentiful in the elegant dining room.

It's a little dated. The carpets are worn and stained in the halls. The food was elaborate and plentiful, but not exceptionally flavorful. It's a large, somewhat impersonal ryokan. The price to value ratio is a little steep.

The location near to river side walks in the woods was great and the japanese style room had plenty of space. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The multiple course dinners and breakfasts were incredible and presented beautifully. It was quiet and peaceful, away from the hundreds of tourists elsewhere in other parts of Japan we went to.

The building felt a bit tired and in need of repair and upgrading the decor. Some of the hot springs were a bit too hot to stay in for more than a few minutes.

We got a spacious room with a view overlooking the river - WOW! So beautiful! The onsen is so lovely too with clean facilities and anything you may need, including water, tea, ice cream, hair and skin lotions and potions. You also choose your own yukata. And the breakfast - OMG! We highly recommend the Japanese breakfast it was incredible! Huge and delicious in a bright open room overlooking the river! We had a rental car and they had a space for our car nearby. The staff are wonderful and joyful. You can go for a walk in the surrounding area near the river and the mountains. Highly recommended.

Our experience was so relaxing and comfortable. The staff was very kind and polite, they always wanted to help, yes generally they don't know English but it was not a problem. The room was very wide and scenic. The river sounds like a white noise and relaxing. Bathrooms, breakfast, dinner all were very good. We all love the place. Recommended.

Yes I accepted the hotel was very old and old fashioned but it's still well maintaining. I also admitted the rooms require renovation.

The onsen was so beautiful and the rotenburo exceeded my expectations. I didn't realize how close to the river this ryoukan is. Sitting in the onsen or on the balcony and listening or looking at the river was very relaxing. The staff really took care of us and we had such a delicious lunch and dinner. I'm very grateful for the care my family and I received. Such a pretty town too. Loved our stay and would love to go back.

Beautiful scenery can be viewed from the balcony of your room, and from the onsen. The staff were very friendly and patient when answering our questions with our little Japanese language knowledge. The food was exceptional, made the stay feel really special and memorable
