The place is very comfy. If you are searching for real Japanese experience, I am recommending it. The price/quality ratio was top notch. Really friendly staff and delucious meals. Be aware that it isn't 5 star hotel so don't expect fireworks :) I really enjoyed my stay there over Christmas time. It is very close to Enoshima island and shonan beach with iconic train pass from Slam Dunk anime. If I ever will be around again I will be staying in this place :)

Our stay was an absolute delight. They allowed us to leave our backbacks in the morning. After a day of hiking and sightseeing it was great to return ”home” to the well maintained and clean room. Shared facilities were easy to use and very clean. Staff was extremely helpful and kind, while communication was limited as I do not speak Japanese. Breakfast was very nice! We are traveling using different styles for accommodation (apartment, nice hotel etc.) and our 15yr old son declared this as his favorite experience of our trip! I have to agree!

I did not come prepared with written down sentences in English and Japanese for basic communicarion and that would have been helpful. They had a note to ask what time we would like breakfast that helped. Luckily we were able to use Google translate! Next time I will be more prepared for communication for thanking the very helpful and welcoming innkeepers.

The breakfast was exceptional, I loved the classic room - surprisingly thick and comfortable mat and pillow, close to the monorail and a really enjoyable 20min walk to a picturesque island kinda thing with a beautiful temple. A few quaint coffee shops along the way. Bathroom had one of those Japanese baths which was cool.

The extractor fan in the room was a bit noisy but could be switched off. Didn't have a filtered water cooler so I refilled my bottle from the tap. Forgot that we had to share bathrooms but wasn't an issue. Make sure you have a travel adapter because they don't have those USB adapter ports.

The staff were so nice and helpful during my stay. The room was very spacious and I got a room with a bath, it was very clean and deep. The breakfast was definitely worth every penny, delicious traditional food, served quickly and friendly. Rice, soup, fish, eggs, vegetables, meat, yogurt, plus other sides and tea. Truly wholesome food. Very convenient location near the trains and walking distance to enoshima Island, plus it's right across from a grocery story.

Overall great experience, but be prepared that it's a traditional futon bed and very hard. It is also right beside the train and the front facing rooms can hear the train until late.

I loved a lot about this place. I had never slept on a traditional Japanese futon before so I was a bit apprehensive but found it to be very comfortable. The private onsen was amazing too and a great way to relax after running around Enoshima all day. I really loved the breakfast too, it was amazing! The area around the hotel is very peaceful and quiet; the only sounds I really heard at night were the sounds of the train going by. Overall a really lovely place to stay and one I would book again.

Not many complaints but it can be a bit jarring to use a shared bathroom and schedule out a time to shower/bathe. I did not have problems with it but I did get used to having the bathroom in the same room as me in other hotels haha.

Breakfast and dinner were incredible. It's at the restaurant across the road from the ryokan. Location is incredibly close to the Enoden station. Room is very clean and comes with amenities such as towel, toothbrush, traditional bath robes etc. The owner is incredible kind and bubbly. We arrived early so we left our luggage with them and went out. When we returned to check-in, our luggage was already in our room.

The bathroom sink is very low to the ground. A 6" person like me has to kneel to use the basin properly. If you sleep with your ear towards the door, you can hear people outside the room talking and walking up and down the stairs. Front desk isn't attended and you have to use a phone to call for service, which is fine.

Staff was very lovely, I was allowed to wash my clothes for free. The ofuro was very relaxing, the room was spacious and cozy, I was provided a beautiful yukata everyday to wear besides the towels, toothbrush and toothpaste. The included breakfast was delicious. We can borrow shoes to go out and umbrellas. Free wi-fi and air conditioning

The corridor smelled like cigarettes, the pillow was too thin and to get another one you had to pay extra.

A traditional Japanese setting near a local train line station. Facility is not up-to-date, but it is a good reflection of traditional Japanese family hotel so, as an international traveler who wanted to learn true Japan, I like it as is. A large Japanese temple was within a few minutes of walk. My room was in a separate building across the street from the building in the hotel photo. This is not an issue either.

Although the location is not the best, it is still quite convenient. I regret that I can't stay one more night because I already booked another hotel tomorrow before. The food is good and you choose both breakfast and dinner as you can do nothing at night, and it is not expensive. The hotel has a supermarket next to it. This hotel actually makes me not want to go to a business hotel anymore because it is so good.

The hotel is aged. And you need to share the toilet and bath with others. But for me is not an issue as I might be the only one living in the Bekkan that day.

The room is spacious enough for 3-4 people and having your own bathroom is definitely a plus. The temperature of the room - despite it being the height of summer - was really good. It's only a short walk from the beach and is between two train stations so easy access. The breakfast was nice and I really recommend getting the dinner there. It's excellent.

I would have liked an extra futon or even a duvet as the futons on tatami flooring might be a little hard for someone not used to that. It's not far from the beach but I didn't see an area outside where you could wash some of the sand off your feet before entering the hotel.
