Excellent location opposite the station, with underground access from just outside the station. Lots of restaurants in the area, and a 25 minute walk to the castle. The hotel was stylish and sparkling. You could help yourself to amenities, and on each floor you could select your robe, plus select extra/different pillows. The room was small but not tiny, and had everything we needed. We had a view over the city with glimpses of the lake and hills. A bonus was the blackout curtain!

Absolutely perfect in every way, from the staff, the room, the location and the facilities! I would like to say a special thank you to the wonderful staff, who allowed me to check back into the room I had just vacated when the trains weren’t running because of a typhoon. Absolutely brilliant! I will definitely stay here next time I visit this area!!

Stayed an extra night. On top of what I mentioned before, large room with a great bathroom and big bath! Coffee saches available to take to the room in the reception area. Lovely onsen on the 1F, and a selection of pillows we can take on each floor outside the elevators. So much to mention! All brilliant for a great stay!

The room was luxuriously big (at least for Japanese hotels), the staff members were very polite and helpful and tried to solve any issues to the best of their abilities. There was a tasty Japanese style breakfast available including the local clam soup and well prepared fish and exquisite little deserts.

I tried to get an invoice for the payment of my stay, but they told me that they could not issue it for they would not know the amount as I had payed in advance via booking.com. I should contact booking in order to get a receipt. Such a thing sounds very weird to me and has never happened before. A hotel needs to know what they charge for their rooms and needs to be able to provide an invoice or a receipt of payment.

Great location just opposite the station. Convenience store just next to the hotel as well. Staffs are very very helpful and friendly. My friend left her scarf at an Onsen Ryokan in Tamatsukuri Onsen and a staff called them for us to check if they found a scarf. When we asked a nice cafe near the hotel, she copied a map and circled the cafe on the map and gave the map to me. The staffs went the extra miles to help us. Big bath is also very nice although it's an artificial Onsen.

The smoking smell at the lobby area and the lift. Smoking room is right next to the lifts and the lobby area and the lift smell like cigarettes. The smell really put me off.

This is a very new hotel across the street from Matsue Station but to get there you go through an underpass. The spotlessly clean room was small but perfectly fine for a single person and there were a lot of electrical outlets. Although my window faced Matsue Station, it was very quiet. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet which had quite a variety of food and drinks. The comfortable well lit eating area had several small tables and a long hightop table with stools. The public bath was a real nice addition.

There is an enclosed smoking room close to the elevators and the smell of smoke was present around the elevator doors on the main floor.

Opposite of the JR station but you need to pass the underground tunnel (exit D) - there is no crossing on ground level. Rooms were new and quite big (can fully open suitcase and have space to walk. There is an artificial hot spring which was nice and you can view the crowd status from your in-room TV.

There should be towels provided in the hot spring as I had to bring my in-room towel (could never dry in time). Also, there should be a clock inside the hot spring (there is only one in the changing area).

Good WiFi. Breakfast was mostly Japanese with some western items. All was good. Laundry room was convenient with a laundry machine status monitor on your TV screen. There is one more washer/dryer in the women's onsen bath. Plenty of electric outlets in our room. Nice onsen public bath. Nice shower/bath in room. The Matsue Hotel Excel Tokyu located directly next door is really convenient for a very nice dinner.

Expect to pay about 800 yen per night for parking at the Times paid lot nearby. Additional fees if you take your car in and out during the day. (That's just the way it's gonna be if you stay in the middle of town.)

Located just in front of the JR station, it's a bit tricky to find the way at first. If you exit the station, you need to go underground with the elevator on the street, then cross the road through the underground parking, then exit just few meters from the hotel. All the path is suitcases-friendly. There is a FamilyMart next to it, which is an added convenience. Onsen was clean, but nothing to write home about, just a small, indoors only onsen. Very helpful staff, we were able to communicate freely in English and they have helped us to store suitcases after checkout as our train was later. The beds were comfy.

Exceeded expectations. Large size room ( we booked a single room for a couple). Very clean and modern. Towels were larger than the usual small size for a Japanese hotel stay. Hotel is located across the road from the station/ take underpass outside station (next to information building) to cross the road. Very friendly staff. Little English but enough to be able to communicate effectively. Matsue Castle within walking distance - fairly flat although you can take the no. 7 bus from the bus depot outside the train station.
