Onyado Nono Matsue Natural Hot Spring

The mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable, so I slept like a baby every single night. The room was also super nice with the tatami flooring. Very cosy. Actually the whole place feels cosy and helps relax. The free half ramen every evening was also a very nice touch. Also this hotel is very conveniently located: it's close to Matsue Castle, close to the Shimano Art Museum, close to locations where you can take beautiful pictures of the sun setting on lake Shinji, close to ferry terminals to go on lake Shinji, close to Matsue Shinjiko Onsen Station from where you can take the local Ichibata trains to places like Izumo or Matsue Vogel Park.

Wonderful, spacious, clean, and comfortable hotel room. I was lucky enough to upgrade to a King room at check-in, and it was perfect. The hotel is within easy walking distance to city sights and the main train station with lots of good restaurants nearby. The evening ramen was great and there were hot drinks available as well. A few convenience stores are close by too. You leave your shoes in lockers near reception as the hotel has tatami floors. It was very cold in Matsue when I was there (lots of snow) but the room was nice and warm.

This is perhaps one of our new favorite hotels. Having not known much about the Comfort Inn series (the hotel chain that owns Onyado Nono), we were pleasantly surprised by how much details go into the design of the restaurant. The room itself is big enough for us and it comes with lots of cute design. The color pattern and the furniture were uniqualy Japanese yet functional for guests. There were welcome Yuzu flavored jelly for us. The hotel itself has amazing natural hot spring which operates ALL THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT. It also offers free ice cream and free yogurt/pro gut types soft drinks for guests to enjoy after their hot springs. There were free massage chairs. from 9 pm - 11 pm, the hotel also offers unique Matsue style hot soba. All in all, a very worthy stay for any guest who wishes to enjoy a modernized Japanese hotel. The breakfast is definitely one of the highlights of the hotel stay. The selection is huge and the quality of traditional Japanese seafood options is just so high. Definitely worth the money if you want to enjoy a nice Japanese style breakfast.

The hotel itself is a tad far from JR Matsue station. On Google Map, it initially estimates only around 12 minutes walk. But when you are traveling with luggage, it ends up being closer to 30 minutes. At the time of our visit (mid March 2023), we found some of the roads to be quite bumpy and not always suitable for luggages, thus making the walk from station a bit more difficult.

A very great Japanese experience with Tatami mats throughout the hotel. The rooms are small but functional and the onsen is great. It's a short walk to the Castle which is a must see in Matsue. The breakfast was a highlight. Such an incredible selection and quality of food was outstanding. in keeping with the hotel, it is very traditional Japanese fair so do not expect Western options.

The location is not the best, there is not a lot around, and very little open on the Sunday that we were there. But I'm not sure if there are better places to stay in Matsue. If you are just there to see the Castle then it's fine.

This is a really great stay for my trip. The hotel room is so lovely, clean and comfortable. The hot spring is very nice with ice cream as free service. They also provide free noodles during 9:30PM to 11PM. Besides, their washing machine is free of charge (drying machine with additional fee). Although the hotel is not by JR station, it is just 2 mins walk from bus station, super convenient. Plus, there is a LAWSON with 2-min walk. They take care of everything detail for your stay. I would come back for sure.

This hotel was unlike any other we visited ( 13 in total during our trip!). Firstly, shoes are taken off before you reach the reception desk..this really sets the tone. The rooms were spacious ( we had a standard queen room) and you could actually open the windows to get fresh air in the room which was also a first! The Onsen was fantastic, very clean and well equipped and was open all night. All robes, socks, toiletries etc.. were provided. Just a lovely place.

It is a very new hotel. Located just 13-15 min walk from the train station, it was easy to reach even with suitcases. We were given a room in Japanese style but with Western beds. Note that sink is located in the room lobby, while toilet and shower are behind the door. Heated toilet seat was a great feature in winter. Onsens on the roof are to die for. 1 indoors, 1 big outdoors and 2 more big tubs with 39'c and 42'c water. Breakfast is a great value for money. Overall this stay was amazing and I really really want to come back again.

I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The Japanese offerings were varied and many. The Western offerings were looked a little less than fresh, but there was plenty of good coffee as well as hot tea. The Japanese tempura was light and crispy and the chirashi tasty. The dango in sweet Azuki bean syrup were really good. I also really like the beautiful material used for the cushions in the lobby and in the rooms. I wish I could have purchased the ones in my room.

It would have been nice to have had dinner at the hotel. There were some restaurants near the hotel but they were packed at dinner time. Thank-goodness a Lawson and 7/11 were right across the street. There is no tissue and no waste bin in the sink/shower room.

The beautiful tasteful design of the hotel, the staff were pleasant, the clealiness of the rooms and insen area, the quality of off offerings at breakfast, the popsicles/yogurt drinks and massage chairs, the water, tea and treats in our room upon arrival. i

I was a little confused on how the meal addition was worded on pur reservation website. It was worded in a way that I was thinking it was part of the price. It could have just been my error, but I havent had this issue before so it might be good to look at this.

beautiful hotel all around, clean, new. fabulous hot spring! Womens side had sauna and cold dunk baths, indoor bath with some reclining areas, and outdoor area with beautiful large stone bath and two single person soaking tubs with warmer and cooler temperatures. once you get out of the bath there is ice cream/popsicles for free in the evening and massage chairs!! In the morning they have ‘lactic acid’ drinks instead of ice cream- we think it is actually a probiotic type drink? also free soba service in late evening was delicious! buffet breakfast splendid!
