We were especially thankful to the helpful staff of Ikoisanso! On the day we were supposed to check in, the earthquake struck and caused the trains to be disrupted. As a result, we were stranded at Karuizawa station and unable to travel to Naka-Karuizawa station for the pick-up service to the hotel. However, upon contacting the staff, they so kindly sent their shuttle service to us even though it was half an hour past their usual working hours. Thanks to them, we could safely reach the hotel and have a good night's rest! We also really enjoyed having a kotatsu (heated table), that kept us warm in -2 degrees weather! The public bath had a lot of amenities, such as cleansing moisturizer too. We found lovely cafes within walking distance from the accommodations too!

The room can get quite dry at night, but putting out some water helped! Naka-Karuizawa station may not be the most accessible, as we were stranded when the Shinano railway was not working between Karuizawa and Naka-Karuizawa station.

Friendly staff. Shuttle Bus service available. Help with carrying luggages. Cozy japanese-style room. The tea and coffee selection. There is a family mart or 7eleven nearby.

At the free drink bar area: there was not enough hot water left in the dispenser. The shared bathroom/toilet was not completely gender separated, there was a gap upside the wall.

It was enjoyable and what we needed when we stayed in Karuizawa

We had pre booked meals, but we also had 2 small children with us which weren’t catered for and when we did have the breakfast it was an adults breakfast so it was a lot for them to eat, that could’ve been better organised I feel.

The staff were so helpful, the lady kindly helped us book a taxi to the station as well as keeping our luggage. I loved the public bath

Maybe the futon was a little hard but I suppose that’s the nature of futon

The Ryokan exceeded our expectations as it was very comfortable and warm. The ofuro with it's amenities was a great plus. You have also free water, coffee and tea.

Nothing to highlight.

Place has everything for a short relaxation trip, such as nice tatami rooms and a small bath. The dinner was delicious. There is a conbini nearby.

The service during dinner was a little bit overwhelmed even there were not many people. On the saturday evening there was a party going what caused some noise, but it stopped somewhen between 10 and 11pm. The location is a little bit off, but otherwise it would be more expensive.

Great spot to stay for a ryokan experience but also easy to stay with my parents who aren't used to a more traditional Japanese style housing

I think every part of our stay was satisfactory

Super friendly staff and easy explanation of the property. Really clean and quiet, plus such a good location ☺️

The Wi-Fi didn’t work when we got there but the staff sorted it straight away once we let them know which was great!

Polite and English speaking staff. Close to attractions and restaurants. Has a Carpark. Breakfast was surprisingly good.

The bath’s water was not moving, is it fresh or reused water?

Good location, cozy and comfortable room with Kotatsu! The staff was very friendly and nice.

Doors and walls too thin and noisy. The futon was also a little bit thin.
