Staff were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and efficient. The hostel has a warm, funky vibe. The location couldn’t have been more convenient unless it sat astride the canal in the historic district. The food and drinks were all excellent, and the value for what you pay is amazing.

Mattress and pillows were adequate, though not as comfortable as we might have liked.

Amazing location, cosy well designed rooms with lots of privacy and space in your "bunk" which was almost a tiny room. Very good showers and bathrooms. Friendly staff. Really nice bar downstairs though it feels separate from the rest of the hostel since you have to go out then in, so it's not like a typical hostel chill out area.

It's a funny layout, a bit like a prison, with the central bit being a bit cold though there was a heater available. Quite a small hang out area that was full with a group when I wanted to use it, and it felt like the hostel bar I'd have to buy something in order to sit there. No kitchen, tap or kettle only a microwave and a hot water machine that was sometimes empty. The futon mattress felt very thin, definitely not good for sideways sleepers.

Fantastic location steps from the heart of the historic district. Staff were super friendly and helpful with my awkward baggage at check in. Bar/cafe seemed like a fun place. I stayed in the twin room. The place is like a combo hostel and boutique hotel and it's a really interesting renovation of what was apparently an old wedding venue.

A kettle in the private room would have been nice since I'm a coffee-before-anything person and the common space with hot water was on another floor. Breakfast was good, but it was cold sandwiches and yogurt, so a little unexpected and out of the ordinary.

The location, right near the historical district and the O'Hara Museum, was brilliant. I got a little lost in the streets a few times. The clever layout of the dorms meant four capsule beds fitted well in a small space and the bathrooms were stylish and clean. Breakfasts were reliable (an egg salad sandwich and choice of juice/coffee) and good.

The bar downstairs is cool, and it seems like it might be the hostel's common area (with bookshelves and a movie playing in the corner), but I didn't feel welcome down there to just hang out, especially on my own (when I tried doing so, I was approached by a staff member, who was surprised when I asked if I could just sit in the area). The other common area contained the small fridge and kettle and a few chairs (in the open centre of the building), but also doubled as a smoking area and had weak wifi.

Hostel Cuore was overall quite good. Had a great location to access the central canal district of Kurashiki Bikan, and the station was a short walk down the road for sites farther afield. The bar/restaurant downstairs gave a nice vibe, though not many of the hostel people seemed to hang out there so I didn`t really get to meet anyone. Beds were comfortable and the set up probably gave the most privacy I`ve seen in a hostel. Plenty of shower/bathroom facilities so never had to wait. Breakfast was simple but good. Laundry facilities were good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

It was quite a large hostel which generally helps with meeting people, but I think because the restaurant/bar is the common area it was harder to just chill and casually socialise. Also the smoking area was open and in the central courtyard-type area, so whenever exiting your room and walking to the various facilities you had to walk through/around and could smell it.

Hostel&Bar Cuore Kurashiki is an excellent choice for those looking to spend a leisurely day in 倉敷美観地区. Despite being a 15-minute walk from Kurashiki Station, it is very close to 倉敷美観地区. The staff members are friendly and accommodating, even assisting with luggage storage before check-in time. The room provided was spacious and clean, ensuring a comfortable stay.

My room was situated quite far from the shared shower rooms and bathrooms. Additionally, the aisles were located in open spaces, making it cold to walk to the shared facilities in winter times.

Friendly stuff and cozy lounge area! Thanks for helping me to rebook my dinner reservation :) Room was well equipped and good for a night or two. Toilet was very clean and well equipped although it might be a little cold in the evenings haha. The location is right around the corner of the Kurashiki historical area although the walk to the station can be quite a hassle (highly recommend taking the bus).

The smoke smell was very strong that I could smell it from my room. Not sure if it’s worth to consider moving the smoking facilities away from the 2nd floor as it could go into the room :(

The hostel is well situated in Bikan district. The room was super spacious with a sofa and even a kitchenette if we wanted to cook ourselves something. There's even a projector! Since it was raining outside, we even rewatched the last episode of the Tale of the Nine Tailed :D the bathroom was a bit tiny but the bath taller than others. The staff was very kind and really made an effort to speak in English. Veeery very nice!

They prepare a breakfast set which is not a bad idea but without asking for allergies or dietary restrictions before. In my case, I am allergic to coconut and I don't eat meat so they had to redo some things. So better communicate this in advance if the hostel does not first.

The location of this hotel is perfect! Right in the historic district and not even a minute walk from Ohara Museum. The downstairs cafe and restaurant was super funky and cool, great vibe and super friendly staff. Felt extremely safe here, especially as a solo female traveler (loved that I could book an all female bunk room). They give you free towels and the key to a small locker in your bunk which was a plus. Would definitely come again.

The beds were a little hard BUT they gave you a really comfy pillow and massive/fluffy blanket so it balanced out.

Amazing location in the Historical quarter. The service from the man who greeted me was very warm. This was the highest quality accommodation I stayed in out of the 10 hotels i visited in Japan. The bathroom was incredible, having a washing machine was so handy & the space in the room was perfect. There was even a mini projector you can plug a USB into to project onto the wall. The building was an annex but if you go back over to the main building, there is a bar with some very nice food. I'd suggest the Teriyaki pizza.
