Stayed for a week with a ten year old and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Location perfect, between the station and historical area with plenty of restaurants, cafes, convenience stores within short walking distance and open until late. Also a chemist right out front. Information provided by the hotel staff was great. Limited English and a European with broken English was able to assist. Bicycles available for daily hire ($5AUD). Hotel as pictured, everything new and very clean. Firm beds, great sheets and adjustable room temperature. Pajama’s and many amenities provided. **Except coffee and milk. As a coffee lover I was dissappointed that the top floor complimentary coffee machine was only available to those who had pre booked breakfast, or after 3pm. A quick fix solved with a 7 Eleven a few minutes walk each morning whilst kiddo slept in. There are also vending machines with snacks and drinks on the top floor available 24/7, next to the two washing machines/ dryers. Onsen (guest public baths) was just amazing and opening hours provided morning and evenings. Loved that the TV provided washing machine and public bath status!

Loved most things, every travellers needs are different, but as a suggestion: - allow guests access to one coffee each morning (maybe provide a coffee pass as a takeaway option or coffee only area for those not wanting a full breakfast? - small breakfast option for ¥700-1000 including toast or cereal & a coffee/tea and we would have been there daily instead of once

This is a thoughly-modern, western-style hotel, right on the shopping street which abuts Kurashiki's Historic District. Many of the front desk staff were fluent in english. The hotel has many amenities which far exceed the room rates, such as sake-tasting and a pool table in the lobby. There is a free group bath, and coin laundry which share the top floor with the restaurant. I bought the breakfast for 1650yen, and it was delicious -- part buffet, with an additional cooked plate. The wet-bathroom had a big tub, and new fitments. They even gave us free water bottles and instant-green tea packets.

Truly, I can't think of anything I could have reasonably asked for. This place is a sure-win if you're visiting Kurashiki.

Vadim from reception was so friendly and helpful, so already at check in we felt so welcome in this hotel. Unfortunately we didn't have time to check out the onsen area on the 11th floor but it looked very nice. The room was very clean, again not very big, which wasn't a problem at all. The bathroom was also a delight. They even have a little heater behind the mirror so that it's never getting "foggy" which I found very cool. We booked the place instead of staying in Hiroshima because we wanted to see this cute little town which was definitely worth visiting. From the hotel you're in 10 minutes in the heart of the old town.

Nothing.

The minimalist design focuses on details. For example, the lighting in the public bathroom is relatively darker than other similar facilities. For Westerners who are not familiar with Japanese bathroom, the environment may be more comfortable and inviting because it offers the feeling of privacy. The lounge and terrace are amazing. The hotel is located right on the shopping street, it is very easy to find restaurants or other shops. It is only several minutes walking to the Kurashiki station. I suggest that you do not follow the route given by Google. All the staff members I met spoke English fluently. They are professional and friendly.

The hotel closes to Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, just a few minutes walk. The car park is a machine operated multi storey building and parking is fine. The room is tiny but clean and functional. The breakfast is nice that they offered a cook dish together with a small scale buffet. The viewing lounge is open for guest at night time, there are many guests sitting there to see the city view at night, quite a good relaxing area. Overall this is a value for money choice.

The location is quite tricky that we found it difficult to drive there with our GPS, the hotel is not by the side of the main room but in the centre of a few small shopping streets hence I would suggest guests to arrive hotel before dawn. The room is tiny.

Great room with many basic amenities. If you have stayed in the usual Japanese business hotel, this one would feel a little bigger due to better space management. Located on the top floor of the hotel are the public baths (gender separated) and a lounge. Public baths were basic but nevertheless comforting. The lounge on the other hand was a nice surprise for my family as some of us had to get caught up with work. It offered free beverages (hot and cold) late into the night with a relatively great view of the city. The hotel is located in the main "shotengai" (i.e. like an old market shopping street/area) that connects directly to the Bikan Historic Quarter. Although the area is lively in the day, it grows quiet at night which, according to some restaurant staff I spoke to, is pretty normal. The best part of this hotel is its staff, who was happy to help with any request we had.

Unlike other hotel experiences I have had in similar areas, the parking attendant disappears once their lots are filled, and if you arrive too late (in my case, late afternoon), you must scramble to find parking in one of the nearby cash-parking areas which appeared to be constantly full in the evenings and nights.

Didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel- went to Starbucks instead! Loved our rooms, the onsen, the location which was five minutes from the station and ten minutes from the Bikan quarter. The front office staff were very helpful. We used the guest laundry and loved that we could track the progress of our wash on our room screen. Altogether a very classy stay.

Didn’t like the pillows - I’m sure they were great quality and expensive but I like a softer squishier pillow. Everything else was excellent.

Location was excellent, close to old town. Nice onsen and convenient and cheap bike hire

The manager (old man) was a real stickler for the rules when I asked if I could have a vending machine coffee at breakfast time (I didn’t have an inclusive breakfast package I would add). His junior colleague was so sweet however and allowed me a free coffee the previous day. I feel this reflected the difference between old Japan (rigid inflexibility) and modern Japan (great customer service)

Great location, really close to the station, and then an easy walk through the covered marketplace to the historical quarter. The onsen was peaceful and luxurious. They gave a free drink per person, per night, and extra drinks were 100 Yen!

The breakfast was pretty good, but they alternate the western and Japanese breakfast mains, so you might end up with something you don't want. The most problematic thing during the trip was that the airconditioning in the room had a bright green light on it that couldn't be turned off, do during the night it illuminated the room and made it hard to sleep!

The breakfast was amazing and the spa area was also nice. The staff was exceptional. In all, I’m surprised this hotel is not 4 stars since I’ve been in way worse 4-star hotels in Europe and I would say this was still better than the 4-star hotels I got to know in Japan. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want to check the nearby Bikan district or even if you planned to go to Okayama city center.

If I had to nitpick is that the tv didn’t work well with Netflix from the iPhone when actually trying to watch movies.
