We stayed in a Superior King Room at HOTEL MYSTAYS Sapporo Aspen in late September / early October 2023. The location was excellent being just a short walk from Sapporo Station and also close to Daimaru Department store which has excellent food on the B1 level (Basement 1), particularly sushi and sashimi. We had a room on the 13th (top) floor which was quiet. It didn't have a view, but that's OK. There were 4 elevators, so no waiting for an elevator to come. (Some hotels do not have enough elevators for the size.) Being a Superior King Room, there was more space than you would get with just a double room, and there was a table with two comfortable tub chairs. The fridge was a good size, larger than you often get, and chilled well. The bathroom was quite big too (by Japanese standards) and had lots of bench space, which is not usually the case. I felt that the Hotel was luxurious in a old-worlde way, in that it gave you lots of space and was very comfortable. The bed and pillows were comfortable and had been upgraded. There was a laundry on the 5th floor with 3 washing machines and 3 separate dryers. We would happily stay there again if we were in Sapporo.

The only thing missing was a view, which we did get in most of the other hotels I booked online. I think I probably asked for a quiet room, so that may have been the trade-off for the view. Having said that, we did notice some ambulance noise during the night, given the hospitals nearby and the fact that we opened the window at night.

Convenient location. The breakfast spread was good to cater to foreign tourists (and kids).

As we had a deluxe twin room for 2 adults and one child, it would be good if they had provided 3 towels instead of just two. The room lighting could also be brighter. There is no Safe in the room for me to keep my important stuff.

This was my husband and my first time staying at Mystays Sapporo. Although the hotel has an 80s dated look we found this hotel addressed all our needs while on vacation. The price for our stay was also very reasonable. The hotel does have small rooms, but this is the case across Japan. It was a nice thought to know when we had been out for a day exploring the snow-covered areas that we had a nice clean room to return to. We found the staff were very polite and greeted us daily. The location is very convenient to the train station and buses. We had a wonderful time there and recommend the hotel highly.

Although this cannot be changed by the hotel (as yet), every now and then I would get the smell of cigarettes in the hotel lobby. Maybe in some future time smoking around the premises will be banned.

I LOVED my stay here!! 1. location was superb, a 2 minutes walk from Sapporo station. basically could walk anywhere, we walked to nijo fish market, Sapporo beer museum, shopping street 2. bedsheets. it’s very rare for hotels to change bedsheets EVERYDAY. we stayed for a week and our sheets were changed every single day!!!! 3. the contour pillows. I sleep with a contour pillow at home for my neck aches and this is the first hotel ever to provide contour pillows. some reviews commented that the pillows are hard but you will LOVE it if you sleep with a contour pillow at home. 4. availability of washing machine facilities with a dryer!!! great for long holidays especially winter where you have to pack less and do some laundry. LOVE THIS!!

The room was very spacious, and even with the 4 beds, there was still plenty of room for our luggage and storage. The bathroom sink was huge with a double tap, and the toilet was completely separated in another room. From our room, we could see the street, and it was wonderful getting up to see snow below or even better the snow falling on some lucky days. We were on the 9th floor, but the lifts were quick to arrive when we requested them. The hotel was less than 5 minutes from the Sapporo train station, making it very convenient. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The only negative was that the hotel is a bit old, so it's not new and shiny, but it's a very small gripe.

Excellent location. We wanted a hotel that was walking distance to the train station as we were traveling to Otaru after Sapporo. It was also fairly near Odori Park. Hotel was clean and there was a laundry room on the 5th floor. It has a very nice bathroom.

The laundry room had only 3 washing machines and 3 dryers. I went one night bout 9pm to do laundry and all the machines were being used and guests were queuing up. By the time I did my laundry, it was slightly past midnight.

The location is great. These days i am choosing hotel with great location, to relieve the stress of pulling luggage. Located just 3 min walk from JR sapporo. The staffs are pleasant and nice especially the front desk lady whom helped me to retrieve my own towel that was mistakenly taken away by the cleaning staffs. Bed is comfortable with at least 2 pillows which is great, depends on your room. I had a double size room so i have 4 pillows!!! Great !! Room is clean...

The sound proofing need to be improve a bit. I can hear noises from the next room. The hotel interior and room looked a bit outdated, not a big issue as long as everything works well but its just the preference. The lighting in the room is dim though. Breakfast is ok and nothing special. Not sure why its much pricier than hotels in Tokyo that i stayed with better and modern designs and interior.

The location was still superb, as the previous stays. And the breakfast was as always. I had a room on the 11th floor, in a more quiet corner than previous stays. The elevators are fast and abundant. The cleaning staff are absolutely stunning. With the slippery roads, it is handy that the tunnel to the underground is only 40 meters from the hotel entrance.

After 9 days I was hoping for an egg station of sorts. Furthermore, the electronic toilet is rather basic compared to competing hotels. There are some smoking floors, so the elevator may smell smoky.

Location: Strategically located within walking distance to JR Sapporo Station & it many different subway entrances. The walk from the station is relatively flat on street levels & when the weather becomes too cold then the basement connections to the different exit points with lift helps to keep the cold out. Hotel & People: Excellently maintained in terms of cleanliness, the front counter staffs can speak English which is very useful. There is a phone at every lift level that will connect you to the reception whenever you have problem communicating with the chambermaids (super helpful & nice). I love the little details that the hotel thought off, other than the standard toiletries provided in the room, they also provide charging cable with all the different heads for your different devices – iPhone, android phone and the micro head. There is also night gown for each guest. The beds are comfortable. I booked the hotels twice; the first room was a Standard Triple Room – Non-Smoking of 25sq m was reasonably comfortable. However, the second room was a Standard Urban Twin Room – Non-Smoking which is smaller and it doesn’t come with an enclosed wardrobe except for 3 hooks to hang clothes. For 3 people with 3 luggage and 2 cabin trolleys, this room is a lot more challenging than the first room. However, if it’s just for 1 night then it’s fine. Having a coin-operated laundromat within the hotel is super convenient. The best is that there is supply of cleanser, toner, cream for the ladies available if you forget to bring yours and there is also a small body towel which is super light and I used it for my hand or foot bath when I visited Jozankei. I love the thoughtfulness that hotel planners come out with. The buffet breakfast spread is very good from Western to Chinese to Japanese. There will be something suitable for everyone.

The pillow is a very flat and you need at least 2 or you pop it up with cushions. I would love the rooms to be slightly bigger. Can go a more step by adding a multi-socket would be excellent.

We booked the family room for 2 adults and 3 children. It was value for money and loved the bathroom. Big and spacious, with a sit down shower (similar to Japanese onsen bath) and tub at the side. Toilet was separate from the bathroom. Housekeeping was fantastic! excellent clean standard everyday. there’s coin washing machine and dryer on level 5. Help yourself to toiletries at the front desk. PJ gowns, bedroom slippers and bathroom/hotel slippers provided. 3 min walk to sapporo JR station and many convenience shops around.
