Toyama Excel Hotel Tokyu

Spacious; good selection of toiletries (offered beside the elevators); proximity to Toyama Station; gigantic dollar store in the basement floor of the same building; large airy reception area with sofas-great for meeting local friends.

Reception counter clerk (female) was nonchalant during check-in and did not make me feel welcome at all!! However, the older male staffer that stands near the elevators in the mornings was very friendly--big contrast!

Good location for stopover. Mcdonalds nearby at toyoma station. Small amusement arcade with claw machines walking distance with many western eatery options. Shopping centre on hotel floor. Good for supplies. Cheap shop a few levels down for soft drinks. Phone chargers etc etc. Beds comfortable, bath nice. Very good buffet breakfast, coco pops, croissants, bread for western kids.

I loved the hotel itself - felt very fancy and beautiful, a nice surprise. The hotel is 5 min walking distance from Toyama station and right behind it is a bar and restaurant street with many options.

I needed to do laundry and the hotel did not offer a coin laundry option (which can be found in many hotels in Japan so not too high of an expectation). So that sucked. Other than that all was great.

Breakfast is good. You have a choice of 4 cooked items and the buffets. If you are in a rush to check out by 6.30am, you can have the cooked item and finish them as fast as you can, grab a coffee and run.

Staff at reception doesn't seem to be friendly. Just strictly business. Wish there is a public bath

Very close to the station,just cross the street. The shopping malls are nearby. It is convenient for shopping. The room is simple decorated and comfortable.

After extra bed is added, there will be no space for walking. The water pressure should be higher . Shower is not strong enough.

Great place and very friendly stuff! The only thing that could be better is that there is no laundry place in the hotel, but there is a small laundry place very close to the hotel so it was convenient for us!

No laundry in the hotel

Stayed only for a night enroute to Unazakionsen. Location is 5 minute walk or so to Toyama station. Carpark is just next to the hotel and you pay 1000 JPY for 24 hours of parking (multiple entry/exits allowed).

beds were a bit too soft

excellent hotel with courteous staff. perfect location just opposite to JR station. staff was very helpful. checkin was smooth and the person at check in counter was very welcoming and helpful. the hotel was clean with spacious rooms. i would rate Hotel at 10/10 at this price

Nothing in particular. may be had there been ONSEN at the Hotel , it would have been really nice.

I picked this hotel based on location to the train station and it was a great accident. The hotel is beautiful and was in a great location for eating and arriving late at night.

I originally asked for a non smoking room, but I got a smoking one. But even the smoking room was clean and enjoyable.

The room is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is value for money. Even though the breakfast is a buffet, it also include a order plate with4 choices.

There is no free carpark. Per night fee could be cheaper.
