The location was great! We were right next to a cinema so that was nice for a spontaneous movie night! We were also within a comfortable driving distance to get to onsens and the Wakkanai attractions close by. The beds were extremely comfortable and I was able to sleep super well because of it - also close to a supermarket. The staff were very friendly and answered all the questions we had - the kitchen facilities were great, it was nice to have accessible cold water and make tea and miso for ourselves AND use the microwave and cutlery. Everything was very clean.

The staff was very helpful. They explained the facilities, the keys, and the designated parking area to me clearly in simple Japanese so I could understand. The bed was comfortable.

When I entered my shared room, the winter heater was running very strong, in the middle of summer. It was 30°C outside and it was even hotter in the room. I turned it off immediately, but I wonder why they even allow the heater in the summer. There was one shower in my wing, so you have to wait a while. Also, it did not feel very clean. Bring shower shoes if you come here. You have to make your own bed as well, which is a bit troublesome.

Easy check-in after 2 pm, drop box for early checkout. Combination and side door access at night. Large garage for motorcycle parking. Large lobby/common room. Nice Luggage storage room with free bike locks for large suitcases, lockers for backpacks, extra bathrooms and shower. All new construction inside, better beds then my APA room, small personal locker in bed area for wallets, phones. Free earplugs if you need for snoring guests. Discount coupons for local businesses in lobby. Directly across from train and bus station, so easy at The Stay!

For a hostel/pension like this, the security system, doors, lockers, and safe were good. The staff were very polite, helpful and friendly (the northern hospitality at its best with constant happy smile), all of them. It’s right front of the train station, which is very convenient yet very quiet (since the station is the end of the line). Everywhere was immaculately clean.

-There was only one mixed gender toilet for 3 rooms (18 people)!!! Not great. -overpowering artificial smell of the deodoriser in the toilets. -No separate bathroom area for females. -could hear a guy spitting in the bathroom area at night

It is right across from the JR station and bus stops for Cape Soya and Cape Noshappu, and Seico mart (convenience store). Nice, clean and homey.

I stayed in a 4-bedroom dorm and my bed was right next to the door so it was hard to sleep early when your roommates are not careful closing the door. It is alright for one night but if I have to stay longer, I would get a private room

Booking was easy and didn't need payment at advance. Price was good. Location is exelent, next to railway station and markets are nearby. Simmple, comftable and easy on the pocket. I stayed on group accomodation for four people with punk beds. Beds are big enough for guy that is 2 meters tall. Only on other stayed in same room, so there was plenty of space.

The location was directly opposite of the train station, with convenience store nearby. Room was big to accommodate 7 of us, was equipped microwave which was handy.

The restaurants nearby are either closed permanently or closes early, nothing to do with the hotel though. No parking at premises, need to park at public carpark within walking distance

Amazingly clean. The staff is very friendly. Warm in Winter with extra blankets. Good location to ferry terminal and food places.

There were only 3 showers to share (they are very clean & well-maintained) but can get a little packed at night when everyone wants to shower.

Since this is my 2nd trip in Wakkanai and 2nd time I checked in in here, it bring back memories when I got stranded during the snow storm back in Feb 2021. The staff are so friendly and very welcoming and the whole place is very nice and clean. I manage to relax and enjoy my trip during my stay.
