My first time staying at Ciala Resort after it was recommended by Yvonne, their Sales and Marketing manager. The General Manager Johannes was always present to make sure that the guests are enjoying their stay. It is very tranquil and the staff is attentive! The location is away from the hustle and bustle of Kisumu town so it was perfect for hanging out with my mom. I felt safe and it was scenic all round. The food is great and the staff is receptive to feedback. I will definitely stay here again. Hopefully I will get time to use the swimming pool!

Ciala Resort is a beautiful retreat located about 20minutes from the airport (approx 40minutes from the CBD). The ambience is of calm, rest and relaxation with pristine landscaping vistas and clean, well equipped rooms. The area doesn't offer much to do in terms of activities, shopping etc. (hence it being more a getaway vacation) but there is a pool along with gym, spa, steam and sauna facilities (thought the sauna was not functional during my stay). bicycle hire is also available. The rooms are spacious, well cleaned and with all the necessary amenities. The staff are friendly and accommodating The menu had a wonderful variety of well made local cuisine as well as other equally tasty international dishes, all of which were well priced

Point of improvement/recommendation would be to add a snacks menu (sandwiches, mandazi, samosas, tapas etc) Also, the wifi connection was bad throughout, the hotel needs to boost their routers and extenders

Set in a quiet rural location 20 min from Kisumu the Ciala provides a safe tranqil oasis. The rooms are located amongst well tended gardens and where spacious and clean. The staff were both happy and effecient. There is a bar eating area by the pool , play equipement for kids as well as a more formal resturant and funtion rooms . Certainly the best place I have stayed at in Kenya in the last 10 years.

Greater variety to the menu with perhaps some simple international plates. Italian,French ,Spanish ,Mexican or Thai mayde.

Accommodations: The moment we entered our spacious, beautifully appointed family suite, we were greeted by a stunning view of the lush gardens and sparkling pool. The room was impeccably clean, comfortable, and elegantly furnished, providing a relaxing retreat for our entire family. The attention to detail in the room amenities and thoughtful touches, such as welcome treats for the kids, made us feel right at home. The beds were incredibly cozy, ensuring a restful night's sleep for all of us. Facilities and Activities: Ciala Resort Kisumu boasts an impressive array of facilities and activities for families of all ages. The expansive pool area was a definite highlight for our kids, who spent hours splashing around and enjoying the water slides. The resort's well-maintained gardens provided a peaceful setting for family strolls and picnics, while the children's playground kept our little ones entertained for hours. The on-site spa and fitness center allowed us parents to indulge in some much-needed relaxation and rejuvenation. Dining: The resort's restaurant, as mentioned on their website, is renowned for its culinary delights, and we can certainly vouch for that. The breakfast buffet offered a wide selection of fresh and delicious options, catering to all tastes and dietary requirements. We were particularly impressed with the restaurant's commitment to sourcing local ingredients, which added a delightful touch to every dish.

My family and I spent 5 nights at Ciala Resort. Beautiful environment, amazing and spacious Executive Suite, comfortable bed and couches. Hospitable and friendly employees all the way from the reception to room service. The food was very delicious too.

A few drawbacks: 1. Frequent power outages throughout the period. 2. Although very hardworking, the housekeeping team seams to be overwhelmed. Despite making frequent calls daily, our executive suite was cleaned between 4-5pm daily rather than in the morning hours. Dirty cutlery stayed in the room until evenings. 3. The a la carte menu is restrictive/ narrow.

As a frequent business traveler, I can confidently say that Ciala Resort is an exceptional choice for professionals on the go. The elegant and comfortable rooms provided a peaceful sanctuary after a long day of meetings. The Wi-Fi was reliable, allowing me to seamlessly catch up on work. The boardrooms were well-equipped and the staff was attentive to my needs. The resort's serene atmosphere and top-notch amenities allowed me to recharge and stay focused. Ciala Resort exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely be returning during my next business trip.

it was so organised and so clean. The staff was also very helpful and respectful. Especially the Restaurant workers, the security team and the room cleaners. The Beds are really comfortable too.

I was handed our bill at the end of our stay, sth that we had already paid for long time. One evening we came back to our hotel room only to find out we had been locked out. Another time we were just chilling on our bed, just for smn to knock the room door twice and budge in before we could open the door. And not on one occasion did anyone say “sorry” .These small details can be really annoying.

Beautiful location and architecture. The facilities are nice and the trainer at the gym was great! The place is very quiet and green. The room was comfortable. Food was ok.

Food is quite pricey and the quality doesn't justify it, in particular the buffet. They also play TV way too loud in the dining areas (but are ok to lower if you ask). The listing on Booking.com said that our room had a washing machine and a tumble dryer and it was completely wrong. Instead of a king size mattress we got to single mattresses, which is not the best when you are a couple who likes to snuggle. The sauna and the steam room were out of order. Late check out is super expensive (half of the price of the room). The shower was boiling hot or cold with no in between.

The location is ideal for proximity to Kisumu town and airport yet far away enough to feel set apart from the rest of the world. The staff were great and professional, from the guards, to the bellhop, to the kitchen and waiting staff. The grounds and rooms are beautifully done and just create the right atmosphere for a place of retreat! Kudos to the tour package team. Okuta in particular who listened to my request for customization of a tour schedule to visit very specific places, and on top of that executing quite well. Also HUGE thanks to the kitchen and waiting staff who coordinated with my daughter to surprise me with a birthday cake along with a great presentation song.

The music from the restaurant bar was sometimes so loud that it could be heard in the rooms and depending on what was being played, could ruin the zen when trying to relax away from the common areas. Also, tried scheduling a massage for my mother but couldn’t happen because the hotel only had one contracted masseuse and she had an emergency. I would have expected that a backup be available.

Room was beautiful with a lovely bathroom. Very nice pool area with a bar for relaxing. Staff were friendly.

Food could have been better. While we were told that it was buffet dinner every day, we only got buffet one night - the rest was a la carte (with an uninspiring menu). Took ages for food to arrive after ordering.
