Love the upbeat decor, ambience, bean bags self servicecoffee machine,, having washing machine and dryer a huge bonus after a week’s jungle trekking in mud. And enjoyed the signage too. Clean, orderly, minimalist. Comfortable. Breakfast was small portion, but totally delicious & a surprise, delightfully presented .

Breakfast time - very late. Esp if working or having to travel. Not available til 0830. And then a 15-20 min wait before food arrived. I was in an 8-female dorm room - but disappointed to be on my own. On floor below bar, so could hear some noise - though not excessive. Left luggage - I didn’t have any problems, however had a nervous week hoping my laptop & etc would still be there on my return in what appeared to be an unlocked accessible store room.

Very funky place. Great value for money. Nice restaurant that we ate in a lot. Rooftop bar (okay we didn't spend much time there!) Fantastic common room with WiFi and a pool table. An actual slide and a lovely, friendly cat. Kitchen area/fridge there. Clean rooms (not serviced but you can change the towels)

Less of an atmosphere or social vibe than we expected. Not really a socialising/ hostel buzz. Door banging was an issue. Lots of chairs etc stacked in a fire exit which is a hazard (we discovered this thanks to a 2am fire alarm). Wet room, no separate shower. Kitchen area coffee machine broken.

Pros: -Extremely comfortable beds with blackout curtains and individual plugs and light at each bed with an internationally compatible socket -informative staff -free street parking from 4pm-8am -walking distance to restaurants/pharmacy and street market -24h laundry right next door (8RM wash, 6RM dry as of Feb24) -functional aircon -upgraded room to 6 bed mixed dorm with windows! -free water refills -fast and reliable WiFi with areas set up for coworking -small kitchen and fridge

Shared bathroom was a bit...wet. Each shower had its own room; however, water often leaked out of the shower containment area and into the gangway where the sinks and walkway were. Caused a wet and mildew smell.

In many ways it was the best place we stayed during our travels in Malaysia - and we stayed in many different places from capsule hotels to resorts. The place seems to be quite new, it is very clean and the facilities are amazing. You can see that they thought about everything that might be useful for you or might make your stay more comfortable when they planned the place - and this is something that we did not experience many times in the country. A lot of small details that are very thoughtful. such as they give you a map about the city with cafés, restaurants, interesting places marked; there is a great and peaceful common area that is good for working and relaxing as well with bean bags, couches, desks, slightly separated areas, and a ton of power outlets; there is a common kitchen and laundry; there is a (very good!) restaurant and a bar; and they are ready to help you with organizing trips as well. The design of the whole place is also something to mention, vibrant colours and motives, great paintings, and again, the thoughtfulness: they used some ethnic patterns in the decoration, and there are some things they smartly reused. Great atmosphere, I can only reccoment this place!

After 10 days of just acceptable budget accommodations, it was such a nice change of pace to stay here. The room was pristine, the bed was soft, everything looked new, and there was a washing machine and dryer (and a ton of hooks to hang-dry things in the room). Most importantly for me the WiFi didn't turn off once (which was a problem I had had at every other place so far) and I was able to do a couple of long video chats and Zoom meetings without signal interruption. The common area is great and because I was staying in a private room on a lower floor, I didn't have any of the noise issues other groups mentioned.

The Hostel is very modern and pretty clean. The mattress was very comfortable, there where plenty of power plugs, the shower was nice too. Amazing common area and free drinking water (hot and cold). Dinner in the restaurant was good too. It is located pretty close to the city center, but walking to the jetty takes about 20 minutes.

There was a huge group of teenagers occupying the commonspace most of the time, which was a bit annoying ;) Apparently there was an exercise area on the rooftop, but when I wanted to use it in the morning the rooftop was closed. If you get a private room, make sure to ask for one on the lower levels, since the rooftop bar on floor 6 gets very loud. Would have loved to get breakfast there, but the restaurant only opens at 11 am.

• Design • Really clean • Everything in the room was very well-conceived (no TV but therefore Bluetooth-Speaker, bed high to get your things under, a big coat hook bar, etc.) • The staff is great (friendliest and most helpful I met in my whole trip in Malaysia); need to point it out extra: the manager is a great personality and also extreme helpful and he is visible there • A lot of tour offers and a free walking tour • Rooftop bar is a blast; there was a nice event (local band; local people also invited: Great Job!) • Simply: Go there! We extended 3 more nights

Everything was good; really, no joke

In just one sentence, this is the best hostel not only in Kota Kinabalu, but in the whole South-east of Asia!! Amazing shared spaces with everything perfectly designed, high technology level in the rooms too (also bluetooth speakers to listen to music in the room), canteen with great food, a rooftop bar with the view on the whole city! Can you ask for more? Furthermore, I asked for a early check-in (around 9 am), they accepted, but I arrived to the hostel around 5.30 am, and in any case they provided the sofas in the shared space to relax until the room was ready! Very kind staff, thanks!

We loved this place so much that we came back at the end of our stay in Sabah. Our room was super cute and modern. Beds were comfortable. Hot water shower. Great A/C. Super friendly staff. Free water refill station. We loved the shared area upstairs with desks to work, sofas and bean bags to relax, pool table, free tea and coffee. The wifi was amazing, super super fast! We work online so this was heaven to us! Food at the onsite restaurant was good (Asian and Western food) Roof bar with music. Nice murals in the stairs. Great location. You can easily walk to all KK’s main places.

Super modern and stylish hostel in a great location. The dorm bunks are fantastic with curtains, personal lights, and power sockets. Underneath is a locked drawer with ample room for your belongings. The bathrooms are clean and modern. There is a comfortable hang out space with all types of seating - beanbags, tables, couches -, pool and foosball tables, and even nooks with desks and individual lights for working at. The hostel is definitely fancy and even has a wine cellar. Enjoyed the location with a good selection of restaurants and a 7/11 nearby. Most things are in walking distance with grab being easy and affordable otherwise.

The doors close super loudly unless you're very careful with them, which means getting woken up by slamming doors every time a dorm mate gets back at 1AM, goes to the bathroom at 3AM, or leaves at 5AM. My dorm was also on the floor underneath the rooftop bar (level 5) and the music was on the loud side, but easy enough to block out for the most part if you're not a light sleeper. Most people seemed to be in groups or at least keen to do their own thing, and it would be very hard to try to actually meet people here. That being said, I met lots of people in random places around KK (like on the ferries). No kitchen, microwave, or fridge.
