Food was good. Especially compared to what we've heard from some of the hotels in Cancun. Lots of activities for kids and very family friendly

Keep in mind the beaches on the North side of the island are nice but not as good as the South side of the island Reservations for their restaurants other than the buffet were hard to obtain

The staff here are amazing. Warm, helpful and relaxed. They are friendly & wanted to make sure we were happy. They weren’t trying to get tips (although we tip everywhere and it’s appreciated by them). Just genuinely are kind and helpful staff! Our flight was cancelled by airline first day so we missed a night, the manager greeted us on arrival and sat on the phone with booking.com for me to ensure I wasn’t charged. Most places just say ‘ call the booking agent, sorry’ So I thought his help was awesome! We had a quiet and comfy room, we did upgrade to premium level which honestly isn’t necessary, just some nice little peeks. Make you feel special… but I like the building the family suites are in….if you’re a light sleeper ask for a high up room away from family pool and it’s peaceful. . SomeReviews are going to say things like ‘outdated rooms’. ‘Musty smell’ etc…but people:it’s the jungle. And they are just recovering from 2 yrs lock down. So yes the facilities aren’t like a ‘Four Seasons’ because on a jungle island they’d probably have to charge upwards of 700 a night to maintain that. The air is humid & it ages furnishings quick. But the beds are comfy, the cleaning ladies made our rooms spotless and we felt safe and relaxed. My kids are 12 and LOVED it here. Lots to do but also chill. Kids of all ages seemed to be having fun, making friends and enjoying. It also wasn’t ‘over run’ with kids, just enough for them to meet buds :). Mexican restaurant food my fave. I enjoyed the buffet just fine too, nothing crazy special but lots of options and again good service. . If anything went wrong they made it right! They appreciate respect and a calm approach too, so stay classy and calm if you have a complaint ;) . Nightly shows were great. Love the size of resort cause I like calm & chill. It’s not a party place :).Beach has brown water right now due to season but next door is a sheltered cove with crystal blue water we swam there :)

Nothing!

The beach front location and access to the beach was fabulous. The room view was great, comfortable and of a good size. It was easy to walk around the resort and access the beach from anywhere. The adult pool was well placed away from the family pool so made it more comfortable and quiet if you needed it. The rooms are a little dated but very clean. The shower was spacious and water drained well- no smell from the drain! Staff were very hard working and quick to serve and see to any needs.

Limited food choices. You had to walk to the other side of the resort for the cafe and pool towels. The 'gift' shop prices were very pricey, especially the sun block- so make sure you don't forget yours! Out of the resorts control- the seaweed made swimming difficult.

It's a nice property and beach, we were pleased and it met expectations. The staff was courteous and efficient, and we checked-in quickly. The ambience and vibe was relaxing. We appreciated the plenty of various locations on the resort grounds. You can also walk pretty far down the beach. They gave us a good a room, high up which we preferred and could still hear the sound of the waves with no other disturbances. The water was very clear for the most part and importantly, no sargassum! We do intend to return.

Food was of mixed quality....for example, snacks and at dinner was a bit underwhelming. However, we enjoyed the breakfast (standout was fresh panuchos) which was much better, that somewhat made up for it. I highly encourage the resort to do more fresh Mexican/Yucataneco food specialities, there were a few but its mostly "international fare", which were more mediocre. Also, they could use more chairs on the beach as at times they was limited availability.

The staff was very attentive. They assisted us with all our needs. Checking in / out did not take long at all. The lady who assisted us to make our restaurant reservations was very friendly and nice. The gentleman that takes care of the excrusions was patience and helpful trying to figure out what we can do without 10m old. There are activities conducted daily that were very interactive, such as Zumba, morning stretching, beach games, and pool volleyball within others. The energy that the staff conduct those activities is amazing. The hotel is pretty small, and you are able to get from one building to the other fairly quickly. The family pool is nice and open late hours, which is nice. The beach was nicely set up with chairs made available under the shade. The food is good. A variety of Mexican food was at the buffet, which allowed for different types of eaters to have something to choose from. They serve breakfast/ lunch / dinner. Dinner goes until late around 11pm. The food choose do change from one meal to the next.

The mosquitoes are horrible! My husband, daughter (10m), and I got attacked. There are small black ants on the property.

The staff was exceptional. Extremely helpful and provided anything that was needed. Gabriel was phenomenal and provided outstanding service. Cesar and Geraldo seemed to know when I needed another drink while I was at the beach. Umberto and the staff at the Fish House restaurant remembered my orders and had my meals prepared perfectly. They were right there whenever I needed something. I've never had such incredible service and attention by the staff at any other resort I've gone to.

Nothing except the loss of electricity for a short time.

In looking for a getaway for our 30th anniversary we decided to choose Cozumel for the diving and needed a good all-inclusive resort. The Melia did not disappoint! I had never heard of the hotel, but everything looked great so I decided to take a chance. From the beginning to the end of the stay was nothing but first class! The people are all very friendly and attentive to any need that you have. Our room was spacious and well appointed with the ocean view. Being right on the beach, we spent a vast majority of our time snorkeling and swimming. Two of the days we reserved cabanas and simply hung out and enjoyed the awesome weather. Each night has entertainment of some kind. Everything we went to was outstanding. I have to say the highlight of the entertainment was the band on the beach named, "tequila shot". It was simply one of those magical nights. I don't think it was possible to find bad food at this resort and the drinks were plentiful and tasty :-) We went and did a couple's massage at the spa and it was worth every penny. There are lots of activities and games for families not limited to, Beach volleyball, badminton, batting cages, croquet, shuffleboard, etc They do a nice job of separating off a families from adults only. We were in the adults only side. There are several different restaurants in addition to the buffet to choose from that you simply have to reserve ahead of time. Our favorite was the Mediterranean bistro that is right on the beach. Very intimate and perfect for couples. The hotel is located on the northern part of the island which means the water is much calmer. The snorkeling was excellent and a short walk down the beach takes you to a protected reef with an abundance of sea life. With the friendly staff, perfect weather, great room and beautiful grounds you just simply can't go wrong with this resort. For the price, I feel it's a great value.

There really wasn't anything not to like.

The Melia franchise has failed to disappoint me. Very clean facilities, they are constantly cleaning the walkways, I don't recall seeing any random pieces of trash on the property at all, and there aren't a lot of trash cans, so someone was picking this stuff up. Food is constantly available, as well as drinks. Loved the Karaoke (Fri) night, and the wide range of songs that were available as they simply use Youtube, which is awesome, a must if/when returning.

This location could benefit from either installing fans in the private jacuzzi area, and/or providing a mosquito netting to enclose the area. On each day, there were a lot of black beach flies in the jacuzzi, dead or dying, which turned me off of enjoying the jacuzzi. The beach flies are a pest that are hard to manage in general, but I thought fans would greatly help the situation. There is no spray available to keep them at bay, they don't bite, they are just annoying as heck, and will land on you as if on a suicide mission because they don't move very fast when you go to swat them.

We went to the Melià Cozumel to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and it couldn't be a better choice. At the check-in we upgraded to "The Level" and this gave us an incredible boost in enjoying our stay. We recommend the dinner at the Mediterranean Restaurant, that was the peak of the weekend. All the staff is great, the quality of the food over any standards and the service is impeccable. We'll be back for sure. Thank you very much!

Staff is awesome! They were very nice and pleasant, and also kept us entertained (kudos to the entertainment folks by the pool, we had a blast!). Sadly there was sargassum during our stay, but one can see that otherwise the beach would be top notch... we didn't mind because the family pool was perfect! Our check in was really quick which we appreciated... food was also yummy, maybe could have more options, but it was enough for us. Overall a relaxing, fun, experience in the island.

The rooms and overall the hotel could use a bit of a revamp, specially considering the price one pays (which we thought was a bit high). Rooms were outdated, coffee maker didn't work (we didn't complain as we got coffee at the buffet anyway) and it was impossible to find a plug for the bathtub in both rooms we stayed at (we were 4 people). Also, when leaving we noticed they had activities for kids at the Kids Club which we weren't informed about when checking in with a 4 year old. She was sad to realize she missed those because we didn't know :(
