Perfect for a long term stay. I made use of the laundry while I was there which was great since that allowed me to pack light. There is a kitchenette with an electric burner, a microwave, and a fridge with a freezer. Housekeeping cleans once per week.

The manager raised the price of laundry tokens from 50 pesos to 60 pesos during my stay which was a bit of a surprise. In addition, the toilet in my room had an issue with the cistern where it would drain or not fill all the way. Blankets were very thin so I bought my own.

Very well located. The room has a good space and the beds also good. The staff are very kindly.

I don’t like the cleaning policy. Also I found some hairs in the bed and at in the bathroom where comes from old guest, then this has triggered a question on my mind … do they replace the pillow covers and sheet?

Extended Suites are a bit like the British Premier Inn or Travelodge so no character really but you know what you’re getting. The Merida hotel is brand new and a carbon copy of the Cancun extended suites. It’s a little far out of Merida but right next to an enormous supermarket which is brilliant. Traveling with my 3 year old daughter, I stayed 2 nights and it was very convenient. We drove into the Old Town to visit. The hotel is very clean and simple. We loved (and used a lot) the laundry room - 50 pesos for a token which can be used for washing or drying machines. The fridge and kitchenette was useful. Depending on when you book, the price is very competitive vs for example the Holiday Inn you can see from your window! I would recommend it for families.

They have a nice looking swimming pool but this is currently closed “for Covid”. I’m not sure why they can’t open it really but I am sure they have their reasons. I understand that in normal times, you can use pots/pans from the hotel but the cupboards in the kitchenette are empty. I can’t say this was a problem but we did buy cutlery, and glasses from the next door supermarket. It may not be clear, and no issue at all if staying short term, but they do only clean once a week. The receptionists were lovely but spoke limited English. I was traveling with a child and a lot of bags and was a little surprised not to have been offered a tiny bit of help with holding doors open etc (the Receptionist guy at Cancun in contrast did) - very minor thing but I noticed it.

Too bright lights! No dimmer. No small lights. It's either headache bright or dark. You should have complimentary WATER bottles in the room! And I realize for Covid precautions you can't have dishes, utensils, or cooking pots - BUT why not Styrofoam coffee cops that are microwaveable??? And microwavable plates?

This place was exactly what they said it was. An accurate 3 star hotel, clean, easy to get to, good size of the room. The staff were friendly and nice yet not over trying.

No kitchenware !( Do to 'covid') we had our own so could make breakfast and coffee, the kitchenette itself was comfortable. Also they clean once a week, but they replaced our towels when we asked (from the cleaning staff)

It's very clean

The only mirror is a small one in the bathroom by the basin where there's dim lighting, so it's challenging when I'm doing my hair, makeup, and getting dressed.

There was no coffeemaker, no kitchen amenities as are expected in any extended stay-style property.

The room was very comfortable. Cleaning staff was wonderful and so was the front desk staff. Would have been helpful if someone on the front desk spoke a little more English.

Super clean facilities. Everything you need as a long-term traveler is here and next to supermarket, shopping, cinema, museum, restaurants, etc.

Everything was great!

Staff is very nice and friendly. Building doesn't lose power as much as residential buildings. AC in rooms is strong. Has a full sized fridge in room. Bed is a nice size. They have a gym. Cleaners are very nice and friendly. Bathroom is nice and large.

The lobby furniture is not great. Looks like a break room. Also, the pictures for the room don't match. The green chair pictured for the standard room was not in my room. Only a flimsy red lawn chair. It was not comfortable. Wifi can be weird and unstable but they 2 different networks you can switch between if you have issues.
