Everything! Fatiha was so warm and welcoming. My kids fell in love with her. The room is gorgeous! Super spacious. Family suite has a second story loft, living room, main bedroom, toilet room, and sink/shower room. The owner is a jolly sailor who seems so happy to have you as a guest. So many common spaces and each beautiful and unique. The art alone! Many many books to read. Can’t say enough abt this place! We even took an Arabic calligraphy class with a local artist at the riad. The number of windows in the suite was wonderful and allowed for great airflow. Laundry service was fast and quality.

I did not like that we had to walk down a dark (short) alley to get to the riad. One night there was a creepy/unwell man in the alley who scared all of us and lunged at my kid.

Staying at this Riad was more than just accommodation—it was an unforgettable experience. By far, it is one of the best places we've ever stayed. From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed by the warm and exceptional staff, who go out of their way to make you feel completely at home. Their thoughtful recommendations for local restaurants and hidden gems to explore truly elevated our stay. The Riad itself is brimming with character and charm. While it has hosted some of Hollywood’s most famous stars, what makes it truly special are the people who run it. They pour their heart into every detail, creating an atmosphere that feels more like being part of a family than a guest. And then there’s the Hammam and Spa—simply the best we experienced in Morocco. It’s the perfect retreat after a day of exploring Essaouira’s vibrant streets. If you're looking for a place that offers not only luxury but also a deep sense of warmth and belonging, this Riad is an absolute must. If we ever come back to Morocco, it will be because of our exceptional experience at Essaouira and at Riad Watier.

We should have stayed longer.

The Watier Riad is a beautifully decorated place with spacious, charming rooms. The staff made our stay truly enjoyable, and I'd like to especially mention Fatiha, who warmly welcomed us, explained everything we needed to know to ensure our experience was perfect, and provided great recommendations for exploring the town and dining. Other staff members, such as Gabriel and the young lady who was there in the evening, were also incredibly friendly, professional, and pleasant. We are used to staying in high-end accommodations, and I’m pleased to say that this Riad did not disappoint. The breakfast was good, though not particularly unique. Like many places in Morocco, it offered the same items, which can feel repetitive after a few days. I hope the Riad takes the initiative to introduce some fresh, creative options with more accent on savoury items. That said, the quality was still good. I also appreciated the premium shower products, which smelled lovely. Overall, the experience was wonderful, and I would highly recommend this Riad to anyone visiting.

My only minor issue was the lack of a shower curtain in the cabin, which would have been a helpful addition.

I liked how clean the property was. I enjoyed that the property was in a quiet location and that meant I got a good nights sleep, it was near the bus station. The staff were lovely especially the manager Hyatt who went out of her way to ensure I had a great stay. She made a fire for me, arranged for my bags to be transported to the bus station at no extra cost and an electric blanket for the bed. She made the stay feel like I was at a home rather than a hotel. As a woman travelling alone I felt she went out of her way to help me and make my stay comfortable and easier! She is amazing and had great attitude to customer service. Thank you Hyatt for making my stay wonderful I can't wait to return!

Ryad Watier isn't just a guest house; it's an experience. Located in the heart of town, it puts you right where you want to be for exploring and adventuring. But what truly sets this place apart is the incredible staff, led by the ever-so-kind manager, Hayat. Hayat has a knack for making you feel right at home. Her warmth and helpfulness are genuine, and she truly goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. While I can't name every incredible staff member, let me tell you - they're all fantastic! Attentive, friendly, and always with a smile, they make you feel like part of the family. Another true star of the show here is Mazda, the phenomenal cook. Her culinary skills are beyond comparison! I have never had a better breakfast in my life. Fresh, delicious, and bursting with flavour. Seriously, Mazda deserves her own standing ovation! The hotel itself is impeccably clean and well-maintained. The housekeeping staff does a fantastic job, ensuring a comfortable and spotless environment throughout. In fact, I ended up extending my stay because I was simply enjoying myself so much. If you're looking for a place to stay in Essaouira, look no further than ryad Watier. You won't be disappointed!

We are a group of 4 women traveling together and had a fantastic experience at Ryad Watier. The property is gorgeous, perfectly located within a short walk to everything, and artistically designed with interesting pieces throughout. Breakfast on the rooftop was delicious. The highlight of our stay was the warm hospitality from the owner and all staff. It was truly exceptional in every way. This is a wonderful place to stay and a true GEM. We will stay here and again when visiting Essaouira and highly recommend it to others. Look no further, this is a special experience that will be a highlight of your trip!

Everything was exceptional!

Everything!!! The location was perfect for us, The breakfast was excellent. The rooms were simple yet functional, clean and well equipped. A special thank you to Fatiya for her attention, kindness and advice! I unfortunately had a tumble on our last night and the care I received from Fatiya and Jean-Gabriel was amazing....from ice to items from the chemist to strap my damaged ankle and a wheelchair to get me to our taxi! Thank you again. X

It may be an issue to some not to have a TV in the room and due to the Medina location the internet is unstable. Also the semi-open bathrooms may not be to everyone's taste....

It’s a gorgeous property which was recently refurbished. We stayed for 1 week and had a lovely time. We first stayed in a large double room (37 sqm) which was stunningly decorated and very large! For the last few days we moved to the family room which was split across 2 floor and had 2 bedrooms, a living room with a fireplace. The whole Ryad smelled amazing at all times and also has a common hall with a fireplace which they kindly start for us whenever we want. The staff (special mention to Hayat and Fatiha) were so friendly and kind, it felt like we were at home. Tea/coffee were unlimited and free laundry was also perfect. The 3 cats on site were such a treat too. The breakfast on the open terrace was so peaceful. Big terrace to just chill with a book or tan. Plus it’s 3-4 mins walking to everything. We were so sad to leave! Will definitely return :)

The most lovely staff ever! The energy of women working in this hotel is so unique, they're very happy and they spread this happiness to the guests as well. We had a wonderful stay here. Super clean, great breakfast with lovely view from their terrace, staff super helpful in case you need anything, they gave us superb tips for restaurants, perfect location which central but super quiet. Highly recommend to walk around the back and side streets so many lovely shops, cafes to discover. Their shampoos, and soap products are absolutely amazing. We also had a lovely massage. We will come back!

The Ryad was so beautiful from top to bottom. Loved the communal areas of the garden, library and particularly the rooftop terrace. My room was cosy, clean and well maintained. The bed, pillows and duvet were so comfortable so I slept very well every night. Breakfast was very tasty with a choice of how you'd like your eggs and perfectly served on the rooftop terrace. The Ryad is run and maintained merticulously by Hayat, Fateha and all the friendly staff. They were all so friendly and amazing hosts. The ryad even has its own hammam and the treatments were beyond amazing. The best massage I've ever had!! Can't wait to return again and again!
