We had a wonderful stay at Hotel A la Mer. The room was beautiful, clean and the beds super comfortable cause for someone that travels alot comfortablty is very important to me, i always want to be home away from home so this place provided excelty that,no regrets. The location was just great. We walked to many things, but public transportation and tours were also close by. The breakfast each morning was really good as well, that's why we gaind some weight. The whole staff, front desk, housekeeping, master chef sister Martha and your crew and the security team, your guys were amazing and always helpful with a big smile. I Salut you all,you made our stay easy and we felt right at home. We would certainly stay there again next time we are in Swakopmund. You can not go to Swakopmund and not go to "The Tug Restaurant" for dinner.

Great location near the oceanfront. Easy to find and close to places tourists would like to visit including shopping for groceries as well as curios and such. Informative "travel/excursion information" options wall at check in where you could see what tours or excursions you could do while in Swakopmund. Guy who checked us in was really helpful and friendly.

A large tour group came in the evening and made a LOT of noise, so much that another guest opened their door and spoke loudly to them about being quiet. The tour group's bus parked over many spots in the small parking area so it was hard to get a spot to park and it took them quite a while to move; this was exacerbated by some of the group members leaving luggage in another parking spot for several minutes. While this is the tour group's issue, I felt the hotel staff should have interceded more readily so other guests weren't inconvenienced as much as they were. Also, the room didn't seem to have any way of heating it and we were there in winter and my traveling buddy gets really cold really easily.

Hotel A La Mer is a case of what you pay for is what you get - at less than 50 Euros a night, it’s a quiet, comfortable B&B style room with a hot shower, nice bed & basic amenities. The breakfast isn’t anything to write home about but it does the job & they did have a fan on request which ensured that Namibia’s insect population was kept away from my room.

- I feel that they do need a later check out time - perhaps 12pm. 10am is no longer industry standard & for a small establishment, I don’t see why one needs to be out by 10am.

The location is great. Close to the beach and city centre and all amenities. The rooms are also great and clean. The staff are friendly and of great service. Special mention to Alfews for making my stay comfortable. Upon check out l had forgotten a good amount of money in the room. The cleaner found it and handed it over to reception who contacted me. That was exceptional of her. When l returned l talked to her and thanked her (l have just forgotten her name). She's an angel.

Areas of improvement: -Breakfast menu is limited. -Upon check-in the reception just handed me the key to my room, which was upstairs and with no lift, while saying that l was the last booked guest she was waiting for and was now relieved she could knock off. This was around 6:30pm and l had already communicated of my shuttle schedule from the airport. I just felt not welcomed in that moment! At least she would have called one of the staff to help me carry my bad to the first floor (l was already exhausted with the travel) and should have never said the words she said. But overall all the other stuff l interacted with after were very friendly and helpful, and this helped me change my perception of staff at this place. 😊😊😊

The rooms were well appointed and private for families. The hotel is good. Friendly staff who go all out to assist where they can. The security is good. The hotel is close to beaches, restaurants and all amenities. There is also a private bar in-house that opens at night. Jolande helped us book all the activities which were all worth it.

The cleaning of the rooms was not thorough. We always found our towels where we left them still wet and not hung or packed away. The breakfast assortment was limited, especially if one does not eat eggs.

- Brought us a lot of ice when we asked :-) - provided an adapter - A lot of dining options nearby - very helpful reception staff - Very secure feeling place to sleep (the area around the hotel can feel a little bit sketchy

- tricky parking: small spaces and small parking area for a large car - you need to find someone to open the gate when you want to leave - decided to revarnish the door to the room while we were staying there. The fumes were a bit crazy. - actual breakfast conversation: waitress: "Would you like eggs?" me: "Yes, please." waitress: "How would you like them?" me: "How about an omelette?" waitress: "We don't make omelettes." me: "OK. What do you make?" waitress: "Scrambled eggs...." me: "OK. I guess I would like scrambled eggs then." waitress: "OK" LOL

The room was great, clean and a modern and very clean bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. The view of the sea was also great, also the location was excellent, a walking distance to every amenity and tourist attraction. The host was also very helpful, we actually checked in quite late, around 930pm and they had arranged with security, to give us the key to our room, parking and took us up to our room. We had a very nice and refreshing stay there.

The mini bar fridge is outside the room and has no key, apart from that i've got only good things to say about the hotel.

We really liked our stay at Hotel a la Mer. The location is perfect, very close to the most important places. From our balcony we could watch the sunset. The rooms a spacious and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast was not special, but okay. The staff was friendly and very helpful in organizing tours (inclusive pick-up). There is also a possibility to wash the clothes (we got them back after about 4 hours). The garage for the car is great. There is also a bar.

Still the best location in Swakopmund to access all the main restaurants and attractions. Friendly and accommodating staff. Lovely modern rooms. Good facilities.

In the past, there used to be an option to book a fully sea-facing luxury room. However, now, you can only book a partial sea-facing luxury room on Booking.com. I think that people would be willing to pay more for these rooms and I request that the hotel consider adding these rooms as an option again. There were one or two marks on our duvet covers that we did not like.

I really liked the location of this hotel. I was very close to the ocean and when they say "partial view" (or full view) it is an accurate description. The staff was very friendly and professional and the morning breakfast option were tasty. I would stay again!

One little drawback about the location was the number of street vendors outside the front door. But other than that it is a nice hotel in a good location.
