The setting was nice, the staff were all young but friendly and the restaurant served good food

We had a large dog with us, and were told all the bedrooms were upstairs. We were shown a very steep 20 foot drop open tread wooden staircase to our room, which the dog managed on the way up, but he slipped and fell the last 8 feet on the way down nearly breaking his leg. It was only later that we were informed of a second much easier stair case at the other end of the building. At booking in the staff made no attempt to explain that this staircase existed.

Bed was very comfortable! :) And beautiful surroundings. Very peaceful, friendly staff. I had a very pleasant stay and will make sure to visit again.

I stayed in room no.1. A light source above the washstand which was missing and the washstand is tucked into the corner, that was unfortunate. On the shower cabin there we're supposed to be 2 doors, there was only 1 which made showering difficult. I mentioned it to the staff when checking out and they were positive on the feedback, not a complaint. Just two things to improve in my opinion.

Fantastic part of NL, surrounded by beauty. Unique location with a lot of facilities. Just perfect for a quiet getaway.

I think the Wi-Fi in the rooms could do with a serious improvement - no signal at all once the door is closed. This can be resolved with some repeaters. Bike share was super nice to have for free, you can't complain at free, but Google Maps leads you astray by taking you down a VERY muddy road that is extremely difficult to cycle through. I would recommend they advise guests to take the right to the right of the monastery.

The hotel is situated deep within a forested area off a busy dual carriageway. The place is set within a most tranquil environment. Whilst there was usual activities with associated noise on arrival and early into the evening, the rest of the evening and overnight were the most peaceful with only the sounds of nature. I truly understand the magnificence of its former use as a peaceful monastery. The bedroom was situated on the first floor. The first set of stairs encountered could be tricky whilst carrying luggage. At the other side of the long corridor was a second staircase whose incline was of a lesser gradient and foot treads wider. Not suitable for travellers with specific mobility needs or those requiring wheelchairs. The bedroom itself was approx 7m X 4m with an incorporated shower room with shower cubicle, toilet and wash hand basin. All very clean. Facilities included tea coffee making facilities, a TV, plenty lighting, a bug screen on the windows, 4 four power sockets. The bed was a 5ft X 6ft, although used for single occupancy, so plenty of space for comfort. The mattress was super comfy and orthopaedic. Two pillows per person and a lightweight duvet with crisp white excellent quality linen. The shower room was well appointed with plenty storage for usual creams, lotions and potions, makeup. Hotel supplied toilet rolls, handwash, body wash and shampoo as well as hairdryer. Although I had brought my own. Power socket supplied in bathroom for hairdryer and electric shavers etc. Full size sink and mirror and excellent lighting installed for an internal room without natural light through windows. Clean white fluffy towels supplied. Out with the room. There was a terrace just leading from.the bar area with plenty of tables and shade from oversized umbrellas. The gardens beyond were beatiful. There's certainly plenty of natural walks and cycling to be enjoyed in this location. No through traffic at all.

Nothing major to note. There was a beautiful wedding on and the kitchen was closed to non invited attendees. Understandably given priority of kitchen staff and service was reserved for wedding guests. Other venues nearby were suggested.

The location is amazing. It is very pretty and quiet and I enjoyed watching the wildlife. The breakfast was tasty although I would have liked real butter. The breakfast room is nicely done with the single tables.

The bed was squeaky and it was weird at first that the shower is missing one of the doors. A separate hairtowel would have been nice.

The garden and surrounding environment, especially the apple trees. The room and beds were very good. The shower was lovely, the breakfast was very nice and relaxed (07:00-10:00) and the staff very kind and helpfull!

If you have loud neighbours it can be noisy but that's part of the deal when sleeping in a former cloister. Most people that stay here probably won't be too loud anyway (with a few exceptions ofcourse).

I loved staying at a cloister, with the tiny room and the monk-like quiet upstairs. I think it's great to have hotels like this, where it's just minimalist, but you have all you need. The room was perfect, and the location was idyllic.

The restaurant downstairs is surprisingly chaotic for a cloister. The music was ridiculously noisy, and you can't avoid this part of the hotel because it's also where you check in and out and where you can find the staff. I think they could make this place really feel special and retreat-like if they changed the atmosphere in the restaurant so that it was also calm and restful, and cozy. Also, the breakfast was pretty terrible. No warm food, the bread was dry and the coffee was just bad, from a machine. I took two hard-boiled eggs and one of them tasted bad. How can you mess up a hard-boiled egg? Seems to me that they could make a few adjustments to improve this.

The location in the woods and the monastery were fantastic. We had an amazing stay with our dog and felt so comfortable and cozy. It was nice and peaceful, a fantastic place to disconnect and take a breath. The staff was really helpful. We can't wait to come back here.

Nothing we didn't like!

the location is superb, in the forest and very, very quiet. It has the atmosphere of a traditional family hotel. The rooms are corporate style well-off. Lovely place to stay, relax and recover. Great breakfast.

You have to appreciate the age of the building and hence not everything is super modern, floors and doors can be squeaky. You also have to appreciate that the road leading up to the cloister is sandy, you might get some mud on your car.
